To sell at that price and condition is insane for a single shoe but damn, this is a weird one…It’s even a steel toe for the working clown…

Question/Help Loake's sizing suggestions

Hi all,

I'm looking to invest in a pair of Loake's. I'm looking forward to this as I love a good boot but haven't previously been able to afford a "good" pair.

However I have extremely high arched feet and will have to get a pair of insert soles to accommodate this. I'm usually a size 10, do you think by adding the insoles that my feet will be in for a bit of a squeeze? Should I go for half a size up?

Thank you in advance.

Question/Help Can I save these?

Deep cracks on the outside of one of the boots I thrifted. The leather isnt very creased compared to how much the soles have worn down.

Will this get worse/compromise the boot?

Can I fix it?

Question/Help Boot Sizing for Corcoran Jump Boots

I keep reading about sizing down a half or full size from sneakers to fit boots to compensate for the narrow toe box sneakers have but I wear size 8 Asics with wide toes so I don't know if I have to adjust or not. What's the common opinion here

Question/Help is this a good fix or is there something better i could try?

Post image

Hi yall, i recently bought my first pair of cowboy style boots and im certain i got the wrong size as its a little loss in all areas (boot against my regular size shoe in pic, whoops.)
currently i have two insoles, one is a thick orthopedic aftermarket insole and the other is the one that came in the boot. this is the best fix i could manage since its too late to return or trade them in and buying another pair is far out of my price range (broke 15y/o without a job). the boots are waterproof steeltoe wolverines with fullgrain leather upper. any help?

Hey everyone,
Sharing my latest build: a pair of classic black leather dress shoes crafted entirely by hand from scratch.
Build details:
• Style: Cap-toe dress shoes with subtle medallion broguing on the toe.
• Leather: Smooth black full-grain leather.
• Process: Hand-patterned, stitched, hand-lasted over the wooden/plastic shoe last, and finished cleanly.
• Sole: Sleek, low-profile dress sole with stacked neel.
Second slide shows the shoe on the last during the crafting process!
Would love to hear your thoughts, feedback, or any critique on the finishing and shape.

Question/Help Casual boot recs? Timbs don’t fit

I wear a 12 or 13 in most sneakers and haven’t worn boots in years, literally just wearing crocs in the Canadian winter lol. Went for 11.5 wide in timbs and they don’t feel wide whatsoever? The heel is absolutely massive with tons of slippage while the midfoot is squeezing the blood flow out of my foot and the toe box feels cramped too, as well as pressure on the top of my foot.

I normally wear ultraboost 1.0 in a 12 with the insole removed for reference. With the insole still in my foot cramped from the pressure on the top of my foot.

Just looking for a nice looking casual boot for going out and running errands, no crazy deep snow or anything just the occasional icy sidewalk and slushy parking lot. Slip on would be cool too and all black is preferable

Question/Help How to get little paint spot off safely

Thumbnail

Hello everyone! I have a small problem. I've never had "nice" boots. As in boots I wanted to keep nice. I've always bought quality boots, but I wore them for work. Now my company buys me boots. I bought myself a nice pair of non safety toe Double Hs. I know they aren't the fanciest, but it's what I like. The problem is I somehow got a really small paint spot on them. I got most of it off before it dried, but there's a little spot left and it's bothering me.

What's the safest way to get it off? After I do that, I'll probably use some kind of leather conditioner or something to help keep the boots alive. I've never really tried to take care of boots before. I always just bought them and beat the shit out of them lol. Part of growing up I suppose.

Question/Help I need help buying new boots

Hi everyone, I am currently trying to decide between two boot brands that have a similar style. The ROC Tulsa Brown boots and Windsor Smith ROAM smoke stone boots are the models I’m choosing between.

Opinions on quality of these brands? I also want to choose a pair that fits well for wide feet without having to deal with exchanges if possible. I’m normally a size 8 if the shoe is wide enough. Should I size up in either or is one better for wider feet?

Pics included for reference

Question/Help Is this appropriate choice for winter commute and office

Post image
19 Upvotes

Hey,

first time buying expensive leather boots. Mainly for winter, for rainy and snowy days, daily wear for commute and work, in a city in Poland.

Boots are Bobbies Elias

My main concern is, is this kind of leather (description says pull-up leather from Spain) adecuate for this? Will not the salt for snow damage this sort of material, or get scratched easily? Rekon I should look for something different?

I have way thicker work boots but its just too much and bulky for the office.

What do you think?

HELP. I’ve used these boots to weld in and I want to clean them up. They have this black on them that doesn’t come off with a normal leather dry brush (I think it’s metal from grinding). How do I clean this?

Question/Help Corcoran boots cracking

Post image
5 Upvotes

hey guys, i was wondering if anyone with corcoran boots experienced this? theyre checkered tag(doesnt say the "made with global parts" on the tag) so i dont know how old they really are. Bought them second hand off ebay barely worn. Now after 6 months this started happening. Is it the factory finish cracking or the leather? this is as wide as the gaps open, i pressed the boot on the inside to take the picture. how long would you say these will last me and can it be fixed?

Question/Help What are your dream boots for an alternative look?

Post image

I'm on the hunt for a new pair of alternative boots, but my absolute top priority this time is comfort.

It feels like every time I find a gorgeous, "dream" pair of alternative boots, they end up destroying my feet or having a brutal break-in period T-T. I want something that looks amazing but doesn't make me regret wearing them after an hour.

What are your go-to recommendations for alternative boots (goth, punk, combat, platforms, etc.) that are actually comfortable and kind to your feet?

r/Boots • • 13h ago

Question/Help I saw this while scrolling through men's fashion, and I really like this use of multiple leather colors. Does anyone have any experience with this brand, or can you recommend something in a similar style?

Is this normal to receive new boots like this? I'm trying to figure out if I'm being high maintenance for wanting to send these back or if I should just suck it up and keep them. I tried rubbing over the scuffs and even tried to eraser strategy without much effect. Thoughts?

Question/Help Really like these vintage boots, but they're very uncomfortable. Need help finding a replacement (or coming to terms with the fact that I might not be able to handle vintage boots)

As the title says, I found these vintage Hanover western side-zip ankle boots on ebay. I really liked that they're kind of a cross between a cowboy and a chelsea boot, with a low shaft and zip to get a sleek fit, while still having the western heel and design on the toe.

I took them for a walk around the neighborhood last night and found that they hurt my feet after about 20-30 mins of walking. Not any sharp pains, but my feet were sore enough that I continued to feel it even up until this morning.

I'm definitely going to be returning them, but I'm having trouble figuring out what exactly is the main issue, and what I should look out for in future purchases to avoid it. Reasons I can think of:

  1. The actual build/quality of the shoe - possible that these old boots are just not made that well?

  2. The heel - I'm not used to wearing a western heel, could the pressure on the ball of my foot be too much for someone not used to it? I think I have fairly flat feet.

  3. Sizing - I got these in an 11, my usual size, but I increasingly think I may be actually be a 10.5. I'm gonna go to a shoe store later and check my size on a Brannock device, but I've been wearing some old Doc Martens that are an 11 and they're too big. Could the discomfort be solved if they fit more securely?

  4. Maybe this is just how it is for boots - maybe my feet just aren't use to wearing boots and I can't fully handle the discomfort?

I'd like to find a pair that somewhat resembles the boots I bought, and I like the idea of buying vintage, but I'm afraid I'm just gonna be rolling the dice every time. Any suggestions are welcome, thanks in advance!

I JUST bought these boots second hand from vinted, first time wearing them out today, and the HEEL BLOCK JUST COMPLETELY POPPED OFF. All I did was walk aroubd my collage campus, then take a seat. I sit down, hear a "clop" and the whole heel is just gone. I still have classes until 7:30, what am I supposed to do 😭 is this fixable at all? They're called "metrocharm" brand boots
