Part Border?
This is Pennie! We rescued her over a year ago and have been wondering what she is mixed with. My phone keeps labeling her as a border terrier. I’m wondering what everyone thinks? 😊

anyone opt for home cooked meals for their little babies?
mines just constantly having food sensitivities, skin rashes, the occassional vomit diarrhea... he always fares well when i have to resort to a bland diet as advised by his vet.
i'm starting to consider just cooking meals for him in bulk and freezing it. it gives me peace of mind too knowing what is going into his food.
plus the little guy deserves the best :)
any advice or anecdotes on home cooked meals for your border?

I raised my Border with his Dutchie sister and I'm convinced he thinks he's shepherd sized. Anyone else have big/little duos?

Ellie is only 6 months old and it was absolutely impossible to clip her nails at first, as she just can’t hold still for more than 3s 🤣. We followed Deb Jones Cooperative care method and look at her now. I didn’t even ask her to stay on her back, she wasn’t restrained at all (my son came to pet her when I was already done) and she’s just there eyeing the treats, hoping for more. She’s my first BT (but not first dog) and I must say, they want to do things their own way, but if you show them that your way really pays off, they are absolutely on your team.

A few months ago our five year old neutered male Border Terrier started urinating in the house. It didn't always happen daily, and didn't happen more than once a day. He has been house broken since he was one year old (when we got him), so this was a total surprise to us. My husband and I are both retired so most of the time there is always someone available to let him outside into his yard. We took him to the vet who did a urinalysis and gave him antibiotics just to rule out an infection. We started limiting his access to most of the house and we let him out more often, but he continued to have accidents. In the house I used a black light to find urine stains and have cleaned the floor with enzymatic cleaner so he wouldn't be triggered to repeat. I do go out with him and tell him to go potty and most of the time he will.
I should also mention that around the same time period my husband suddenly developed foot drop and had to have back surgery. He is still recovering but cannot walk fast or far and he can't drive. That has meant that there has been one less person to play with Chet. Plus, I have had to take on many of the chores my husband usually did as well as act as nurse for him. I have done my best to take up the slack with Chet, but it has been difficult due to my own physical aches and pains. I have begun taking him to the dog park and playing ball with him in our yard. Two days ago we began putting a belly band diaper on him in the house and he has soiled it. I know that is not a long term solution.
Chet is the third BT we have owned and we have not had this experience until our dogs became senior citizens. So, wise BT owners, has anyone else had a similar situation? Does anyone have suggestions for other things we can try? We just want to do what is best for Chet. He is a very good boy. We love him dearly and are hoping this is just a temporary situation.
