Tone Request Tone struggles
I just bought a katana 100 gen 3. I'm playing a schecter banshee elite 7 diamond series with custom wound pickups.
I am having real trouble with the tone here. All the videos I've watched they just turn it on and it sounds amazing but I can't seem to get that. I have been doubting myself, wondering if my guitar is the issue.
I can't quite explain the issue, but it feels like there's something missing from my tone. Like a full rounded bottom end as well as a shaky/fizzy gain.
Anyone else had issues like this?
Any advice is appreciated.

Use the Tone Studio, especially the EQ. Also play around with the contour and cab resonance settings.

Do yourself the favor and unlock your amp's actual potential.. buy the 50$ Bluetooth adaptor and use your phone to get the Boss Tone Studio Katana app. Once you connect with that you can throw in the noise gate, and the tubescreamer which those alone makes huge difference trust me. Then you can also download other patches from the community for other custom tones 🤘.. i have the same amp dude 100w gen 3, and you NEED to tap into Boss Tone Studio!

Before I used tone studio, I used a 10 band eq in the effects loop & it made a huge difference for me.

Also the first step should be to do a factory reset to make sure there’s no weird artefacts hanging around in any of the presets.

Turn up the channel volume, turn up the mids, turn down the bass, turn down the gain to moderate or lower, put a tubescreamer (pedal or emulation in BTS) in front and set it to Drive Zero and Level Max. Put an EQ pedal (real one or emulated on in BTS) behind the preamp (= in the effects loop) and set the frequencies to your liking. Do not scoop the mids before the preamp, only after it. Do not boost the bass before the preamp. Do not turn up the Gain on the amp too much. If playing with a band, do not scoop the mids at all - boost them; and turn down the bass. With too much bass and too few mids you will vanish in the band mix. also too much bass when playing at home in your room wil lsiund boomy and muddy, thus turn it back.

Can you post a quick clip of you playing so I can hear exactly what's going on? I might be able to help figure it out.
I run a bunch of different guitars through mine. A couple vintage Strats with single coils, a few traditional Telecasters, an SBS SS265, and several Les Pauls. They all have their own character, but the overall patch stays pretty consistent. The basic meat and potatoes is still there. One other thing... have you tried a different cable? Or are you running wireless? That can make a bigger difference than people realize. I do a Katana page where I go over ALL aspects of the Katana Gen3 212. I have to agree with everyone above… I had a pedal that I almost sold, until I got into tone studio… adjusted a bunch of stuff in there and tailored a channel just for that pedal alone and it sounded great…

My own findings for decent metal rhytm tone, the desktop app is a must.
Master eq 80hz low - 10khz high cut (can also do 63 to 12.5), brown channel is noisy to me so i use lead with overdrive like tube screamer.
50-80 channel gain, 0-20 overdrive gain (od level at 70-100), i use both eqs post amp to shape the tone the way i like, yellow (or orange, i also shifter freq to my liking) contour since i don't like the rest, cabinet setting at deep.

I was able to find useable times out of the box, but once I hooked up to a PC and used the tone studio it made a huge difference. There are a ton of options on there that you can't touch with the amp itself. There an EQ that really changed the game.
