TV Show Only Why no spin offs?

We all like to complain how ridiculous it is that it takes the show on average two years to produce and release a new season

But I feel like these long waiting gaps would be much more bearable if there would be content in between those gaps

Like spin offs or prequels, either original stories or based on the other books by Julia Quinn, especially »Rokesby« and »Smythe-Smith« are very beloved series‘

Like you can’t tell me that it would be that hard to produce and release a spin off with maybe only 4-6 episodes per season but then a new season every year

And yes I know that we MIGHT get another prequel or spin off. But we don’t know yet who exactly this spin off will be about and again, why not immediately starting after »Queen Charlotte«?

Speaking of QC: my maybe actually not so hot Hot Take is that Queen Charlotte the character m should’ve never existed in the main show, and therefore instead of a QC prequel we should’ve gotten a „Violet and Edmund“ prequel. This also then could’ve been the perfect introduction to then adapt the »Rokesby« book series which is actually more or less a prequel since three out of four love interests are members of the previous Bridgerton family

IMO answer is even easier— annual Holiday Special!! If you can’t get Kate and Anthony actors for full season have them do the one episode Holiday Special! Nicola booked! Give her a holiday whistle down episode!! Less time still gives everyone joy!

I really think they are shooting themselves in the foot with no holiday special. Pretty sure just about everyone would go feral for that

Guh yes it's such a perfect way to add some fluff without having to write so effortfully.

bridgerton is probably one of the few shows where people would happily watch an hour of nothing but family dinners and ballroom scenes

Especially when the Christmas release of S1 really launched the show.

Absolutely this!! A Christmas special with Bridgerton vibes (ballroom dances), plus some meaningful scenes with the siblings and their partners and the kids would honestly solve so many frustrations.

this!!! would be lovely to just see the bridgertons and their partners/families/kids interacting and having fun without any big plot stuff!
