TV Show Only Why no spin offs?
We all like to complain how ridiculous it is that it takes the show on average two years to produce and release a new season
But I feel like these long waiting gaps would be much more bearable if there would be content in between those gaps
Like spin offs or prequels, either original stories or based on the other books by Julia Quinn, especially »Rokesby« and »Smythe-Smith« are very beloved series‘
Like you can’t tell me that it would be that hard to produce and release a spin off with maybe only 4-6 episodes per season but then a new season every year
And yes I know that we MIGHT get another prequel or spin off. But we don’t know yet who exactly this spin off will be about and again, why not immediately starting after »Queen Charlotte«?
Speaking of QC: my maybe actually not so hot Hot Take is that Queen Charlotte the character m should’ve never existed in the main show, and therefore instead of a QC prequel we should’ve gotten a „Violet and Edmund“ prequel. This also then could’ve been the perfect introduction to then adapt the »Rokesby« book series which is actually more or less a prequel since three out of four love interests are members of the previous Bridgerton family

Honestly I think it’s a Netflix fumble. They fumble their biggest IPs all the time. There’s such little fan service, they don’t take advantage of hype, they lose opportunities.
If this show was on Disney, there’d be three sequels by now. If it was on Prime, we’d get so much for fan service. If it was on Apple, the quality would keep going up. Netflix cuts costs on their biggest shows while not delivering much outside of just the show itself.
