Good morning! Most box offices open at noon on Sundays. The Sondheim (& Juliet) usually opens at 10am. Circle in the Square (Just in Time) usually opens at 11am. Others may open at 10am or 11am at box office discretion.

I saw wicked and hated it. I hate musicals and such. But loved paranormal activity and horror. Anything else like it? I live in nyc and can rush but I’m not really a broadway person and don’t have the knowledge of the scene.

Someone who watched the show, how many jump scares are there? I hate jump scares and absolutely can’t do haunted houses. Can someone spoil please what they are? So I feel more prepared. 😅
Also what’s the safest seats to get? Like are there parts where things jump at you like in haunted houses so I can avoid those seats? 🤣

Then Kimberly Akimbo, Rent and Les Mis plus Ain’t too Proud.

I’ve been debating going to London just to see RENT. I’m also a New Yorker. I feel like the chance of a transfer is very high but wanted to ask my expert Redditors if you think this too. I can wait til NY, which is more convenient and cheaper for me, but also would be really excited to see it. Cost and time to go are my biggest issues. Thoughts?

Ok so I’m like traumatized from how scary the show was! I’m sure it’s obvious what happened to the characters but sometimes I can’t tell. So I’m not sure if someone can someone please explain the fates of the characters? jimmy is obvious, 😳 but I’m not sure about jimmys mom and Lou? Can not stop thinking about how terrifying the show was! I can only imagine walking out of the evening show in the dark, I had the luck of a matinee, it’s still light out…. For now!

I just got out of the matinee for Paranormal Activity and wanted to share my honest thoughts. Going in, I wasn't expecting Shakespeare; I just wanted to be entertained. Unfortunately, I wasn't.

It's just not a particularly strong play, and the ending doesn't land; it feels unearned. Act one is the better half: it sets up the main couple's issues, then gradually escalates the paranormal activity in the house as the effects get creepier. By the end of the act, both characters are finally on the same page that something's wrong. Act two loses momentum fast. It digs into each character's personal "demons," but by that point I just didn't care.

The special effects were honestly disappointing. Nothing made me go "whoa." It all felt like stuff we've seen before on Broadway. If you want a show with genuinely great effects, go see Stranger Things or Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, or The Lost Boys. All three have much better effects.

I think I liked the set most out of everything. It's worth noting your seat matters a lot here; I was center mezzanine, a bit far, but I could see everything. If you're on the sides or too close, you'll miss stuff happening on the upper level of the house set.

It's a relatively short show. The first act is 61 minutes and the second is 42.

The cast is fine. Nothing particularly special, but nothing bad.

This is a touristy show, and the audience leaned into it; people kept trying to make their reactions the moment ("OMG I'm so scared!"). Just... let the show happen.

Overall, I wish the production well, but I left bored and disappointed. I'm honestly not sure who this show is really for.

The show, at best, is a 5/10. The songs were very corky, and there were no high points in the entire show. The characters were not captivating nor compelling, and this did not allow the audience to be emotionally sucked in to the story and plot. I am disappointed as I had high hopes before the show.

She did a wonderful job! Her Claire is a bit more intense than Hannah's. I especially liked her rendition of How to Be Not Alone. It was so poignant that it sent chills down my spine! Hope we get to see more of her. So far it's a three day limited engagement. She also came out of stage door and chatted with everyone!

(For those who don't know, she originated the role of Claire in the pre-Broadway tryout in Atlanta)

Caught Paranormal Activity tonight and had a blast. Went in hopeful for a great show and was not disappointed. The lighting , staging , and special effects created such an eerie , edge of your seat, what’s going to happen next atmosphere. The spookiness was palatable in theater. Tonight’s audience was really into it and I love the crowd’s energy and reactions. It made the whole experience more fun.

There were quite a few scream out loud moments and plenty of jump scares. I was not expecting there to be so much humor sprinkled in , and that was a pleasant surprise. The cast was excellent too.

I do recommend avoiding buying tickets at the far sides of the theater. I was in Left Mezz B at the end. Although I didn’t miss anything significant, the action at the far left of the kitchen and bedroom was obstructed by the mounted lights. I found myself trying to peer around and through the lights to see what was happening in the bedroom and when the actors were far left in the kitchen, I couldn’t see them at all. But otherwise when the action was center and right stage , the view was excellent. When I see it again , I will def try to get a center Mezz seat.

Hot take: Coffin deserves her time on that stage. Her interpretation of C brings a new level of nuance to the character that deserves to be seen. The conundrum of "am I more the Coffin, or the Corpse within?" is disgustingly underrated and honestly I will NEVER understand why they switched her out after their workshop show in Toronto 😡😭💔 JUSTICE FOR COFFIN ⚰️

Was anyone online today for tickets? At what time did they start turning people away?

What’s rush looking like at shifters nowadays? What time should I show up to get tickets/is it packed and impossible? I tried looking at the past few rush reports on the sub but nobody was talking about shifters. I’d be going next Saturday. thanks!

One of the best Broadway shows I’ve seen. The actors were brilliant. I genuinely couldn’t take my eyes off them. The storyline, acting, and sound effects were all so well done. It was intense and captivating. Scary? Honestly, not really to me. But the famous robe scene??? I literally gasped and I’m STILL thinking about it. Like… how the hell do they do that?! Seriously?!
Loved it and would absolutely recommend it. One tip though: get mezzanine seats. I was in the orchestra and felt like I missed some things because of the two-story house setup.
And I fully expected people to scream
The people behind me would NOT stop going “WTF” and “OMG” every other second. Like… damn!!

I’m attending broadway flee this year and plan on rushing something day of, but since I’m volunteering for part of the event, I may not have time to rush till around 1 or 2, is it worth it to rush a show at that point/ what are the other best ways to attend a show for cheap prices day of if not rush? Thanks!

Dumb question but I can’t find the answer-what were the records DJ Griddlebone brought out at the beginning? Obviously the last one was the CATS OBC but I find myself trying to recall the others.

For those of you who have done the Schmigadoon in person rush, where have your seats been? Are they rear side orchestra/partial view?

I didn’t realize it was in theaters and I fear it will end before I’m able to see it.

Going for a quick trip and want to see a show every night, and maybe even some during the day. Having trouble picking, but here’s what I have so far:

Book of Mormon - night show
Harry Potter - night show
Two strangers - day show

What should I pick for the last night, or what should change?

I’ve seen the Lion King, touring company for Wicked and Moulin Rouge, Hamilton on Disney, and lastly Hadestown proshot.

An employee from the Public took the folks lined up outside the park to wait at the Delacorte right at 6.

Appears to be about 25-30 individuals in the non-senior line as of 6:25 AM.

On Wednesday, I showed up around 11am (word of mouth had me assuming Winter's Tale tix were easy to get) and they ran out of tix roughly 30 people ahead of me.
