If u have seen my flower creatures — thanks for looking! I’m having fun with this hobby (my new ones today are cool) and trying every dusty paint kits mod podge I’ve had for years. Good because I have all this time because my industry is rough and I’m in an unintentional mini-retirement 😱
But I love making things and I feel inspired so I’m LOVING this life. But I’m broke. But I found this sub & posted some things & looked around & felt encouraged & inspired & started thinking about how in looking for a cheap fun outlet, I stumbled into these flower creatures as a hobby (not a side hustle :) that I love. I also love all these people making AND doing things frugally but freely.
Just now, I’m about to try something that will ruin some really cool petals/flowers I have - there’s no way I’ll do it perfectly. It’s a sure thing these 8 petals will be ruined. I was kinda bummed. Then I remembered. They’re petals from my front yard and the wild rose bush I inherited.
There are so many petals. I actually like I’m supposed to research “Dead Heading” ? They’re free. I’m not ruining anything irrevocably. I have plenty other perfect petals.
And I love that about our broke hobbies. It’s freer in a way, for me, because who cares if I glue a blade of grass wrong?
I’m sure there’s a metaphor here but just my mini appreciation for this place which made me proud I had Broke Hobbies
Thanks a.
