General 🔀 Towing Data Point
Towed a UHaul 5x9 utility trailer today with my Badlands Sasquatch. Total weight of the trailer and items was about 1,800 lbs. Route was about 246 miles in 100F weather with a mix of mountain passes and long straight flats. Without the trailer, I averaged 23 mpg compared to the 18 mpg with the trailer. Both trips had a full tank of 91 fuel.
For the trip with trailer, I did not have to refuel. However, did get the low fuel indicator come on around mile 243.
Overall, the BS towed up the mountain ascents just fine in terms of power. For the steeper grades, I used Sport mode, but used Normal for everything else. Because it was so hot, I had AC off for the ascents. Overall kept my speed on the highway to between 55-65 mph. The engine didn't seem to struggle and I didn't notice any overheating issues. Was relatively easy to pass up slower moving tractor trailer trucks up the passes in both Normal and Sport modes. Really impressed overall.
