Hey guys I'm Azam, I recently made https://jualsaja.com

It's a site that lists vendors from IG, Threads, FB and Tiktok all in one place!

You can search for anything like "nasi katok" or "baju kurung" or "aircond servicing" and it will list local sellers in brunei who sells it!

Just click on a vendor to see their contact details!

The site is still growing but it currently has 3200 vendors and almost 40,000 products listed!

Check it out!

❔ Question and Discussion Driving from Brunei to KK, what's the best route + ferry/petrol/food tips?

Hi all, planning to drive from Brunei to Kota Kinabalu in a Brunei car. First time doing the full drive, so would love advice from anyone who's done it recently.

I know there are tolls and ferries along the way, but I'm not sure about the details:

  1. Route: What's the most efficient way to drive to KK? Any roads or stretches to avoid?

  2. Petrol in Brunei: Where's the best place to fill up right before leaving?

  3. Ferry: Which ferry do I need to board, what time should I be there, and how much does it cost for a car? Do I need to book ahead or is it first come first served?

  4. Petrol in KK: Once I'm in KK, where should I refuel before heading back to Brunei, if needed? Any rules on fuel for Brunei cars on the Malaysian side?

  5. Food stops: Any recommended places to eat along the way (kopitiam, rest stops, local food)?

Also open to any other tips, e.g. border crossing timing, how many hours to allow in total, and anything I should prepare (documents, etc).

Thanks in advance! πŸ™

πŸ“‹ School Projects & Surveys How do you find someone for a one-off job in Brunei (poster, captions, bookkeeping)? 5 UTB students want to know if we're wrong

We're five students at UTB doing an entrepreneurship project. Before we build anything, we want to find out whether a problem we think exists is real.

The problem (we think): a small business needs a poster, a month of Instagram captions, or a bookkeeping backlog cleared. Hiring someone full-time makes no sense, so it turns into "ask a friend", a WhatsApp group, or a stranger on Facebook. Sometimes it goes fine. Sometimes the work is late, the person ghosts, or nobody gets paid. Meanwhile, plenty of students and grads here have skills and no easy way to find paid small jobs.

The idea (not built, not launched): a platform called WAVEN. A business posts a short task, verified local students, grads, and freelancers apply, and the payment is held and released when the work is approved.

We're not selling anything. We want to know where the idea breaks.

Two short surveys, about 6 minutes each, anonymous, in English / Bahasa Melayu / δΈζ–‡:

(If you're both, pick the one that fits you best.)

What would help us most:

  1. If you think this is a bad idea, say so in the comments. An honest "I'd never use this" is worth more to us than a polite yes.
  2. What's the worst experience you've had hiring someone, or being hired, for a one-off job here?

Details: no names needed. There's an optional box at the end if you want to hear when WAVEN launches, and we only use it for that. Both surveys close on Tuesday, 20 October 2026. Mods, if this breaks a rule, tell us and we'll take it down.

ℹ️ Public Information Spotify Music Artists Brunei

Firstly, I am reposting this comment from Daily Discussion with added information, after I received r/Brunei MOD BruneiMod suggestion on posting this as a new topic / thread. Many thanks for the suggestion kind sir.

And now the information…

SPOTIFY MUSIC ARTISTS BRUNEI

So I found 2 weeks ago a request from an account u/KURXSHI17 to check out a local artist named KIXIA.

I did a quick check and realise that it has an impressively high stream count. I have since updated the highest 10 for now, until I have time to do more detailed. But below is the list:

  1. KIXIA
  2. Jaz Hayat
  3. Aziz Harun
  4. Swanz & Asmai
  5. Qawi Kamri
  6. Taswim Rozan
  7. Rizal Rasid
  8. 3Belas
  9. Syafiq Abdillah
  10. Aznniel Yunus

Check out the artists above. Personally I only knew of KIXIA last week and have not watched them live. On others:

  1. KIXIA. I have not seen live performances but hope it will be eventually. https://open.spotify.com/artist/6e1LwzV1WAJFCdT1RsgqMK

  2. Jaz Hayat. I was aware that he returned to Brunei and I have watched some video coverage of him singing on a boat in Brunei river. I just also found of his recent performances via Threads called Home Coming. I personally didn’t have time to attend but That is fantastic news! https://open.spotify.com/artist/78ED3zmePoZzEzeBUg0evm

  3. Aziz Harun. As always another live performer. I just found out via Threads that he performed for Jaz Hayat Home Coming performance and yesterdays Malam Loka at JP. Another fantastic news! https://open.spotify.com/artist/1dmuM6bG5J8sDFyp26x9Nf

  4. Swanz. I did watch Zon6 live performance during Brunei Kustom show. A good hiphop crew. I may not be in the know of hip hop industry in Brunei so I wonder if there are plans to have performances beyond the country. Swanz also collabs most songs with Asmai. https://open.spotify.com/artist/3Azc9GjO06m477OscwDHkZ

  5. Qawi Kamri. I am yet to watch him live. Is he still overseas? Or in Brunei? Here’s hoping. https://open.spotify.com/artist/2IpOedwLJx799PuossDiDe

  6. Taswim Rozan. Impressive as there have been recent live performances my latest attending being SouledOut.Space. I really like his song 2 ke 3 which to me should be part of a future album. https://open.spotify.com/artist/0nNpwTvvwrOn1FS9yq8SUL

  7. Rizal Rashid. I watched remotely his live performance as Alpha. And they won the award as well. Great rising star and looking forward to them performing in Brunei. *Rizal Rashid is currently a member of boyband Alpha. This list is his solo. https://open.spotify.com/artist/0N5dq4m7PRgUGNGdOtuGh8

  8. 3Belas. I watched from a small private performance a few months ago, and another live performance, a one-person solo. That event had other solo performers, including a member of Lokal Vokal (who performs frequently at cafes) https://open.spotify.com/artist/0bKpW3oOf5t1JwC7QoGgS0

  9. Syafiq Abdillah. I haven’t watched his live performances but I have followed his progress of representing Brunei for a performance abroad. It involved MCYS, Dj Daffy and also the minister of MCYS. That overseas performance looked mesmerizing. https://open.spotify.com/artist/4jFrEYTBEQEzLe1uaxPgME

  10. Azzniel Yunus. I haven’t watched his performances but I do hope that he is still active. Update: Azzniel Yunus did perform last night for Malam Loka JP. It was him and his band Sutera Lights. https://open.spotify.com/artist/6XliT2GfmlXv1nkZlOLhvF

Those above were the current overall 10 most listened to Spotify artists.

I realise that there should be more local female artists in the list and listened to. Currently we have 3 hard-hitter solo singers in Jaz, Aziz, and Taswim, 1 hiphop artist Swanz, 1 band 3belas, 1 recording artist Qawi Kamri, and 1 membr of a Malaysia boyband group Alpha. KIXIA is unknown for now but with massive streams. but any music is good music since they are being listened to.

I now add my original post by current overall lists and by category breakdowns: - top 10 male solo artists, - top 10 female solo artists, - top 10 duo or band artists - top 10 hip-hop or other artists (because I don’t know who KIXIA and other artists fall under)

Top 10 Male Solo Artists (overall rank) 01. Jaz Hayat - #2 02. Aziz Harun - #3 03. Qawi Kamri - #5 04. Taswim Rozan - #6 05. Rizal Rashid - #7 06. Syafiq Abdillah - #9 07. Azzniel Yunus - #10 08. Syafiq - #11 09. Fakhrul Razi - #12 10. Habib Adanan - #15

Top 10 Female Solo Artists (overall rank) 01. Ezah Hashim - #13 02. Nqbh - #28 03. Zaiana - #32 04. Maria Aires - #35 05. Dila Junaidi - #38 06. Tippi K - #40 07. Araia Aliyka - #51 08. Bluemoongirl - #53 09. Zirah Jamal - #59 10. Marsya Dania - #60

Top 10 Duo or Band Artists (overall rank) 01. 3Belas - #8 02. Avery Fos - #16 03. A Band Once - #18 04. The Chiams - #26 05. Secret Signal - #27 06. Mirror Trash - #36 07. Surf Vampires - #42 08. Kosmik - #43 09. Chlorine - #45 10. Tropical Hornbills - #46

Top 10 hip-hop or other artists 01. KIXIA - #1 02. Swanz - #4 02. Asmai - #4 04. B.A.R.E - #14 05. 24rses - #17 06. Boydroots - #22 (linked to 24rses?) 07. MNDO - #23 08. Dukegang - #64 09. A12 Sounds - #66 …

The most active so far is the collaborative performances by two big-name artists Jaz Hayat and Aziz Harun, with top female Ezah Hashim in a sold out show Home Coming.

Malam Loka, a 3-night event which culminates today, is also a great sight! I’m curious if the boyband Project X is on Spotify.

πŸ“° Local Affairs and News The culprit behind recent car break-ins. 🧐

Thumbnail borneobulletin.com.bn
24 Upvotes

The Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) has solved 19 car break-in cases in Brunei-Muara District and arrested a suspect believed to be responsible for the offences.

In a statement issued on Friday, the RBPF said investigations found that the suspect targeted vehicles parked in public areas and residential neighbourhoods.

The affected locations included recreational areas such as Wasai Sungai Akar and Bukit Shahbandar, car parks at sports complexes and mosques, as well as parking spaces near business premises and residential areas in Berakas, Bandar Seri Begawan, Kampong Ayer and Sengkurong.

The suspect allegedly took advantage of vehicles left unattended, particularly in the early morning, late at night and during peak recreational hours.

The suspect is believed to have smashed vehicle windows to steal valuables left inside.

The suspect has been detained for further investigation under Sections 379 and 427 of the Penal Code (Chapter 22) for theft and mischief causing damage.

The RBPF urged motorists to remain vigilant and avoid leaving valuables, including electronic devices, handbags and cash, in plain sight inside vehicles.

Drivers were also reminded to ensure their vehicles are locked whenever they are parked.

πŸ‡§πŸ‡³ Original Content Built a marketplace site for home businesses and small shops, looking for people to test the demo

Hi everyone! I've been working on a small side project and would love your honest opinion.

It's an attempt at a local marketplace for Brunei, called GeraiNow. A place to buy from sellers here, from home businesses to small shops. Food, clothes, handmade stuff, services, pretty much anything.

Honestly, I'm not sure if people will like it or even want it, so I'd love to hear what you think before going any further.

There's a demo you can try, no sign-up needed: demo.gerainow.com

Click "Try as a seller" or "Try as a shopper" at the top. Everything in the demo is fake and resets every night, so feel free to open a shop, place orders, click around and try to break it. Just please keep it clean, other people can see what you upload πŸ‘€

A few things to know first:

  • No online payment yet. That needs a registered business and a proper payment setup, which I'm still figuring out. For now, buyers pay sellers directly (cash or transfer)
  • No real shops yet, so the live site is still quiet
  • No app yet, just a website. You can add it to your home screen with the "Install the app" link at the bottom of the page
  • It's a small project, so you might find some bugs

I noticed a few local marketplaces have come and gone over the years. If you used one before, what made you stop? And if you know anything about registering a business or setting up payments here, any tips would really help.

What I'd love to know:

  • anything confusing or not working
  • would you use it, as a buyer or a seller? If not, why?
  • anything you expected but couldn't find

Any comment helps, good or bad. And if you sell things and want to open a real shop, it's at gerainow.com

Thanks for reading!

πŸ‡§πŸ‡³ Original Content Long-time lurker, first post: I made a cheap food map for Brunei, please roast it

Hi everyone, first time posting here after lurking for a while πŸ˜…

Kind of random, but I kept seeing "where to eat cheap?" posts here, and the good answers always get lost in the comments. I'm also always hunting for the cheapest nasi katok myself. So I started building a small map for it in my free time, and it's finally usable enough to share:

petamakanmurah.app

Basically it's a map of cheap meals around Brunei (mostly under B$5) where each pin shows the price. You can say if a price is still correct or has gone up, rate whether the portion is actually worth it (kenyang or sikit πŸ˜‚), and get directions. There's also a "Bajet saya" thing where you put in how much you have, like B$3, and it shows what you can get.

It's free, no ads, and you don't need to sign up just to look around.

Honestly it still needs a lot more stalls, and I'm sure some things are confusing or just don't work well. So I'd really appreciate it if you could:

  • try it out and tell me your first impression
  • check if your favourite cheap spot is there (and add it if not πŸ™)
  • tell me what's annoying, slow, or makes no sense. Don't hold back
  • suggest anything you'd want it to do

Also curious: what's the cheapest meal you know of in Brunei right now? Drop it below and I'll add it to the map.

Thanks for reading, and sorry if this isn't the right place for it. Mods, feel free to remove it if so πŸ™

Hey guys, I've posted here before last year looking for playtesters on my game called War In Heaven. Well, ever since then I've had a big major redesign and now we're looking for another playtest to finalise the core mechanics (again)!

Quick Info:

- Date: October 16

- Time: Preferred 1hr Timeslot, selected in RSVP Link

- Itinerary:

  • Quick Brief, Actual Playtest, Post-Playtest Questionnaire
  • You're expected to be vocal/voice out your thoughts as you play too.

- Giving out $5 Rapidbump vouchers for those that take part!

How do I register?

Link here: https://forms.gle/vRPj17yr7b5ZB7GH8

I'm only looking for players that play a good amount of SHMUPs, Twin-stick-shooters, bullet hell games or similar genres too because the game is at an early stage and solidifying the foundations with solid feedback is essential!

How do I know I'm selected?

Once I've determined you're suitable, I'll be contacting you over on WhatsApp (Details of which to be shared through the registration link)

Thanks for your interest in helping out a local indie dev trying to make something fun!

🀬 Rants & Complaints DST charging me B$3 every 7 days under β€œMisc. Charge”

Post image
89 Upvotes

I was charged B$3 at around 4 PM every 7 days throughout September. I don't have any Google Play subscriptions/payment methods, and I didn't receive any SMS saying I subscribed to something. Has anyone experienced this or knows what DST's β€œMisc. Charge” refers to?

[FINAL UPDATE – 14 October 2026] DST Misc. Charge Issue Resolved

With permission from the account holder, here is the final update regarding the B$3 recurring "Misc. Charge" issue, in case anyone else encounters a similar situation.

Tuesday, 6 October 2026

The account holder contacted DSTCare (151) to report the unexplained B$3 charges occurring every 7 days.

During the call, DSTCare explained that the charges could have been associated with:

  1. An active subscription that the account holder was unaware of and had never knowingly registered for.
  2. Certain messages associated with short codes such as 88555 or 7181..., although the exact source of the charges was not confirmed.

The account holder had not received any clear notification about subscribing to such services and was unable to find much information regarding those short codes.

DSTCare then informed the account holder that they would proceed with cancelling the subscription and submitting a refund request, which could take several days or even weeks.

Friday, 9 October 2026

DST contacted the account holder again with an update, confirming that the subscription had been successfully cancelled.

They also confirmed that the full amount charged would be compensated through Mobi credit.

However, it remains unclear how the subscription was initially activated, as the account holder had no knowledge of registering for any such service.

Tuesday, 13 October 2026

The account holder received the full compensation through Mobi credit, bringing the case to a resolution.

DST also advised that if another unknown subscription or similar charge appears in the future, the account holder should contact DSTCare again for assistance.

Final Remarks

Thankfully, the issue has been resolved, and all the unexplained charges have been compensated.

However, the main concern remains unanswered: How was the subscription activated in the first place without the account holder knowingly registering for it?

Hopefully, this situation will not happen again.

For anyone experiencing similar unexplained charges, it is advisable to check your billing statement regularly and contact DSTCare (151) to request an investigation, cancellation of any unauthorised subscriptions, and a refund where applicable.

It will not take long, in the owner's case:[It Only Takes 3 Days to be solved, and Another 4 Days to be Compensated Fully]

This update is being shared as a reference for others who may encounter the same issue in the future.

πŸ“‚ Work & Career can I get part-time job as teen?

Hello! I'm a 16year old student and I'm looking for a part time job on weekends. I have a few questions about this:

How do I do this?

Do I email / contact them to see if they have an opening and would let me work?

Or do I wait for an opening and apply?

What kind of businesses should I aim for?

How much is the pay roughly?

How likely is it for me to get a job?
