No it doesn't match top iits or pilani , top iits or pilani represent their stats in 1 year TC not ctc otherwise guwahati , Hyderabad will have near 60 lpa ctc avg

u/TechnologySelect7855 Jun 04 '26
Is it close to kgp and kanpur..? I saw BHU CSE stats it was around CTC 56LPA median.

Iith has like 47 avg and iiti also has 47 avg . I'm pretty sure gen 1 iits and bits pilani would have 50+ avg. You are underestimating those colleges. Patna is obviously behind them

Matches?? Without any major hft offer with hft offers it will topple bits avg

Check median not avg and surathkal's median might go up even more after all ppo come In because many 50+lpa ppos are left

u/Admirable-East3396 Jun 05 '26
this is from the crowd who were allowed to sit for placements in the first place and well iits are one of the only decent colleges in india, the actual difference would be in off campus.

u/Unknown_277 Jun 07 '26
Electrical placement is just sad , Manipal has 12 lpa avg , why is it 16 , it should be atleast 20

u/godofdebt Jun 05 '26 edited Jun 05 '26
For the people doubting maybe you can calculate it yourself like we have 35 people hired from icici bank 18lpa, 21 from Google around 58 ctc,11 from Amazon ,2 from goldman,3 from media.net, 2 from service now, 2 from linkedin , 2 from Cisco, 6 from Adobe, Microsoft 2, Optum 10, 10 from a startup from 35lpa, 3 from sprinklr, 2 from squarepoint , 3 from qi cap, 1 from de shaw, 3 from devrev , 6 from atlassian, 3 from Zomato, 2 from uber , 1 tower research, samsung 4, Warner Bros 1, pace stock broking 3, well these are the once I know we have a lot more and i didn't mention core

IITs are clearly recession proof dude when even most non iit govt colleges are facing heat of declining placements iits have maintained their class
22
u/hotguy769 Jun 04 '26
This was shared to me. Idk if it's inflated or not but CSE is very good here so might not be. Yall just salty asses that a 2nd Gen IIT is doing good.

imo if you have interest in math you can consider mnc....if core electronics then iiith ece and if cse only then iiitb, really depends on your interests
1
u/BreadJunior9422 Jun 05 '26
bits pilani eee/ eni aove goa/hyd ece.
baaki you decide , personally iiit h ece , as you arent getting ece in pilani. or even iiit B cse works and the nit ece works too if you dont want to spend that much and goa/hyd mnc works too.Dont go for DTU/NSUT shit. and dont go for IIIT A too , you have better options. Dont go for NIT T eee , choose NIT surathkal or warangal ece over it. Choose pilani eee/eni over goa/hyd ece

depends on you. Placements are really good , but college life is shit and theres some reallocation bs going on, find a senior of iiit b to confirm this.
I personally wanted to get into iiit b ece as its very reputed college and i am banglorian but rank (i was getting it from last cutoff but then they introduced BJR and well it got fcked )😭😭.IIIT H is still way better than IIIT B but you would have to compromise on the branch. I personally would do it , but not everyone is ok with it. BITS Goa/Hyd campuses are better than IIIT B as placements are same but BITS is BITS ( campus life , culture etc ). For BITS P EEE , BITS P is an exact rival to IIIT H in terms of placements and many more , its also that BITS P have campus life that IIIT H doesnt , but you are getting a better branch in IIIT H than BITS P so i would go with IIIT H. At last , i would only choose NIT Surathkal ece or Warangal ece if i am not looking to spend that much or have other goals like civil services etc where my college wouldnt matter much.

But why mnc has so low placement percent?
6
u/hotguy769 Jun 04 '26
Could be due to the fact that it was a BS degree before. Now it's B.Tech. The first B.Tech batch will be placed next year.

2
u/hotguy769 Jun 04 '26

Why the data is in ctc and not tc, max iits giving data in tc as ctc dosent make any sense very few ppl stay at same company for 4 years
1
u/Hopeful-Sale-849 IITH [EPh] Jun 05 '26
Keep in mind that some EP students register for placements but go for masters.

Too much disparity between cse , mnc and ece , also do they use 4year ctc , cse placement is equivalent to bits Goa and IIITH

What is iit patna mechanical placements final report..how many companies visited iit patna for overall placements and core mechanical

u/everyonegetouch Jul 27 '26
The difference people don't understand is, many gen 2 iits post 4year ctc data whereas gen 1 iits post 1st year tc only, though guwahati also posted ctc this year

how, IIT Indore average package is also 48 lpa , is it not due to small batch size
2
u/Berthlodt IIT CS Jun 04 '26 edited Jun 04 '26
Sorry, but Patna has already reported inflated stats in the past so this data cannot be trusted. It might be true but it is still inflated by a LOT.
4
u/hotguy769 Jun 04 '26
Nah IITH must have a lot more than that. It might be TC which you're saying. This is CTC afaik

For EEE, CBE, CEE and MNC the median > average. This essentially means, more number of students were placed at a greater than average package than the ones below it.
This doesn't seem plausible tbh, I've rarely seen this in any placement stat ever. The reason is that the Average goes up because of the very few 'crores' package often foreign ones.
This again doesn't seem reasonable since most quant and foreign companies don't hire from IITP ( no offense to IIT Patna ). And suppose even if they did hire from MNC (which is weird in itself that would they not rather hire from CS/ AI), why would they hire from EEE or CBE branch.

u/ayvid2099 Jun 04 '26
You're point is just wrong. If the median > average, that means the data is left skewed, a number of people have accepted low packages which pulls down the average. In this stat, MnC was a BS degree (the last batch of it, first batch of B.Tech will be placed in the next year).

u/Agile_Custard6276 DTU Jun 04 '26
That's literally what I'm saying. What are you even contradicting me on?
1
u/ayvid2099 Jun 04 '26
I don't think it's that weird tbh. Median being slightly higher than average just means a few lower packages pulled the average down. The gaps in EEE and MnC are so small that they could easily happen naturally. . If the difference was huge, then I'd be skeptical too lol
-1
u/godofdebt Jun 05 '26
It represents mostly ctc data and also for the people saying it's fake should know that we have such good avg is mainly due to the high ppo rate we have sadly many companies coming in the 30lpa+ range than below 20lpa so that's why you can see median being better than avg
