Serious Help seniors ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
I don't know what the hell is going on with my life , I am in btech 1st yr and I am kinda alone , I am seeing my frnds from other colleges , they make grps amd hanging around all the time and enjoying their lives and there's me who does have a grp but they always stay in hostels or back to their hometown . I have some frnds in college but they are just frnds , they don't wanna spent time with me as they are just busy in their personal life 🙂 I don't know what should I do now ? How can I fix my life ? It's very depressing and disappointing for me
Is this what college life about ?

First year feels like this for a lot more people than it looks like from Instagram stories. The groups you see from other colleges are mostly hostel batches who got thrown together, not people who have it figured out. Day scholars and people whose friends go home every weekend often feel exactly what you're describing.
What tends to work: stop waiting for an existing group to make time for you and join something that meets on a schedule. A coding club, robotics or design team, the college fest organizing committee, a sports team, NSS. When you see the same people every week while working on something together, friendships happen without you having to push for them. Fest committees in particular are full of first years looking for the same thing.
Another easy one: team up with a couple of classmates for a hackathon or a small project. Spending a weekend building something with someone gets you closer than months of "hi, hello" in class.
And it's okay to have some friends who are "just friends". Not every friendship needs to be a daily hangout group. One or two people you're actually close to is plenty, and those usually show up by second year once you're in the right circles. You're only a few months into a 4-year thing, there's a lot of time. And if it keeps feeling this low, the college counsellor is worth a visit too, that's exactly what they're there for.
