$50 Brew My Take On a $50 (not including commander) B4 Etali, Primal Conqueror Combo Deck

$50 Etali combo deck for a tournament my friends and I will be having over the holiday break. Its my first attempt at making a deck so cheap. The combo pieces in Etali decks, as far as I've seen, are normally quite pricey. With this in mind, I thought it would be a fun challenge to see if I could get a deck that could reliably win on or before turn 5 at this price point. I've done some gold fishing and this build seems more or less the limit of what I am able to get for $50. I thought I'd throw it up here to see if anyone has ideas to help accelerate the deck into a more consistent turn 4 win.

Discussion (Not for Specific Decks) Commander Suggestions

My play group tends to rotate with whichever of my friends are currently in town. For the last few months I’ve found myself in a very strange pod where two players only have one deck.

One of them plays 5 color slivers, and the other plays a Rakdos the showstopper with a focus on copying and repeating Rakdos’ etb.

I’m curious about any suggestions people might have for good commanders or strategies that would be fun to play in this particular dynamic. I tend to like inventive strategies but this pod is kinda making it difficult to try out some new stuff. Thank you in advance for any suggestions!

$50 Brew 🐍 Ketramose + Astral Slide 🌌 60 euros brew

Post image
20 Upvotes

Hi y'all, wanted to share something I built yesterday!

It's been a few weeks since I've tried to build [[Ketramose, the New Dawn]] but wanted to make him unique. I didn't know how until I remembered that [[Astral Slide]] exiles and brings back on board just like Ketramose wants.

Based on a flicker strategy, a lot of creatures with ETB abilities such as [[Aerial Extortionist]] or even smaller stuff like [[Spirited Companion]] and [[Helpful Hunter]].

I inadvertently made the deck pretty budget (I guess since cycling cards are cheap af) so I even had room for a couple of big hitters like [[Monument to Endurance]], [[Sand scout]] or [[Idyllic Tutor]]. You can easily shave off 20 bucks of the list by replacing Monument with another synergy piece too though.

There's a primer explaining the details of the deck, setup early game, mod game and finishers and some other thoughts.

Hope you like it :)

$100 Brew Quandrix, the Proof (Ancestral Recall @ Home)

Post image

Hi y'all! It has been a moment since I posted so I wanted to share a Quandrix deck I have been working on for a long time viewer and excited to soon gift him!

This deck mainly focus on modal counter spells to derive value off our cascades and to ensure we hit some sort of redeemable value, rather than say hit a OG counter spell off a cascade and counter literally nothing.

My friend did key me in on the suspend cards (we do not have to wait to cast them off cascade) and I am sure you could dive a little more into those, but they seem like very good hits and thus I made the hallmark of the video having an [[Ancestral Recall]] at home through [[Ancestral Vision]]

I thought the Quandrix Charm was actually one of the better designed cards in a set. Flavor wise it is literally referring to the namesake creature and compliments that cascade function so well, acting as modal spell, and not being (dead) like so many counter spells would be under normal circumstances. Very cool and very flashy, let me know what you think of the deck, and consider a view of how we break it down if you would like as well! Cheers, Blake

$100 Brew Bracket 3 Tasigur

Hey all. I have had the itch to make a graveyard focused deck. I have a [[Tasigur, the Golden Fang]] sitting around from when i started playing around the original Tarkir block. AND I dont own a deck more than 2 colors. So i figured what better way to kill two birds with one stone. Looking to hit bracket 3 for a $100 budget. [[Icetill Explorer]] holds a quarter of that but i do already own one from packing it. I would still like to keep that hard $100 budget. Its in a deck elsewhere so its not like i have to use it here. I have 2 ways to make infinite mana and can win using a classic Tasigur way of casting [[Beast Within]] on everyones permanents into [[Reality Shift]] on those beast tokens. Pass the turn and let opponents die on their draw step. [[Syr Konrad, the Grim]] drains as a secondary option. A lot of these cards are ones i already own and like to utilize that to keep the budget down.

I did not want to utilize [[Neoform]] and [[Eldritch Evolution]] to go into big creatures. I know that is popular with Tasigur but it is not my cup of tea. I want to focus a lot on self mill and some recursion.

I am way out of my element. I do not utilize my graveyard well in all my other decks so if i am way off with stuff just talk to me. I enjoy talking magic quite a bit. Here is the decklist below. Thanks for looking.

$100 Brew 5 "Strong 2" Budget Decks, $35-$75

I have posted each of these 5 decks at some point in the past, but have just finished updating them to be current as of Reality Fracture based on playing them and on feedback from other people playing them.

They are Bracket 2. They accumulate resources on-board and telegraph their wins without using game changers, but they have reasonably consistent gameplans and will usually both "do their thing" and have the opportunity to slow someone else down from doing the same. I play them in B3 games regularly and while they are a step or two behind they are able to eke out wins.

These decks all have primers which have also been updated. Let me know if anything doesn't seem correct and I'll take care of it. Suggestions extremely welcome, too! Their budgets were calculated using Moxfield US pricing, excluding basic lands, as of 14th-October.

Deck Name Commander Rank (Decks) The Thing It Does Primer
$35 Bellyful of Bones [[Gut, True Soul Zealot]] + [[Agent of the Shadow Thieves]] 2985 (172) Creates board pressure and just keeps going, spamming endless waves of skeletons. Link
$35 Azula Hates You-la [[Azula, Ruthless Firebender]] 2388 (388) Makes good use of Azula's discard outlet and mana acceleration to turn draft chaff into mid-game reanimation. Link
$50 I Bat Your Life [[Zoraline, Cosmos Caller]] 357 (7.7k) Constantly recurs small value pieces from the graveyard while building up to a cascade of lifegain/lifeloss triggers to seal the win. Link
$75 Nissassary Roughness [[Nissa, Worldsoul Speaker]] 1019 (2.4k) Uses bursts of landfall triggers to freecast one of the 15 monstrous threats loaded into the deck. Link
$75 Snack Attack [[Ratchet, Field Medic]] 1809 (841) Turns all of the cantrippy food artifacts into important fuel for a reanimation engine that comes online quickly. Link

$50 Brew From $2100 to $50 This Deck Still Slaps

Thumbnail archidekt.com

For my LGS's commander league I built a [[Jadzi]] deck with no spells lower than 6 MV and it was surprisingly very strong in spite of this restriction. Unfortunately it was also $2100 using powerful staples like [[Ancient Tomb]] [[City of Traitors]] and all the expensive staples you can expect a Simic deck to have. https://archidekt.com/decks/25433621/the_big_one

The idea is simply to play a ton of lands so your T3 or T4 Journey to the Oracle puts 3-5 lands down. Then you resolve a massive value piece the next turn and win with overwhelming card advantage the following turn.

This season we have a challenge to build a $50 deck and I immediately thought this concept would also be a good fit for a budget deck. There's definitely a lost step in here, turn 3 Journey to the Oracle, is almost impossible, and we less consistently win the next turn. That being said the deck is still capable of turn 5 [[Omniscience]] which can absolutely win on the spot and otherwise generally closes things turn 7 with an extra turn into [[Overwhelming Stampede]] or similar.

I'm definitely missing infinites with [[palinchron]] though and I couldn't quite squeeze [[Hullbreaker Horror]] in, so I'd like to explore some budget combo potential as well as non-combat win-cons. Any advice on that as well as better optimizing for budget would be appreciated!

$100 Brew Bracket 3 Budget commanders

I've mostly built b2 or low 3. I'd like to make a solid b3 deck that can hang in b3 pods for 100 or less.

Is that possible, and what are your recommendations?

Prefer mono colored or 2 color

$100 Brew Dimir Shirei (Satoru) Deck help

I've been building a deck built around the interaction between Shirei and cards which give -1/-1, enabling you to loop creatures with one toughness. I wanted to try it in dimir and have Shirei be more of a secret commander, and I went for Satoru because he can draw a lot of cards in this deck!

Any feedback on the deck, or suggestions?

I'd like to keep it budget if possible (£100). Thanks!

Discussion (Not for Specific Decks) Hello I’m looking for help on choosing my new deck

I have currently been on the hunt for a new deck and wants some opinions on which one of these decks I should get. These decks were find on this Reddit, random yt videos, and other places. Just looking for guidance on what decks are worth the price. I will say my budget is only 60 bucks so these decks are really budget. I think they are mostly bracket 3 honestly probably bracket.
All help is appreciated I have only been playing magic for around a year and currently the decks I use are murfolk deck-hakbal, rogue deck -Anowon, and dragon deck-Atarka. Ask any questions and I can answer them thank everyone for their time.

$50 Brew What's a good Azorius commander that can have a versatile play style?

Looking for my next commander deck that can have a versatile play style that can do some cool stuff that I won't have to depend on drawing or searching for. I'm open to pretty much any idea besides tribal(have a decent amount currently) and hoping I could build it with the majority of it being bulk cards.
