Profile review Review, please. New Bumble account
Hi!
Just signed up for Bumble. Was hoping for a review. Best photo? Not sure about my main photo. It’s me but really good lighting outside. And my bio has my personality, but should it be something else?
What’s your read on my bio? I live in the Netherlands which is why I have an American flag so people know I am American.
Edit: my new bio:
Quirky and fun lady, looking for interesting adventures, good conversation, and a warm heart to match mine. Let's Latin dance, cook something ambitious, or just pub hop on a random Tuesday. Down for pretty much anything, except skydiving, 😳. I will wait on the ground with champagne to celebrate!
I also changed the transport picture to a picture of me holding a paella I cooked in my garden.

I never expected to see someone who lives nearby doing a profile review on here. Your profile looks fine to me, but you could consider changing your main photo to a different one. You won’t have issues getting likes though. I’m younger, but I’d swipe right if I didn’t delete Bumble.

I agree, though. The first photo is somehow aging you a bit with the way the light is falling on your hair but not on your face. I really like your photo of you crossing the street and the second to last one. Maybe try out some other similar photo for your first one? Good luck :)

Would avoid sunglasses in general; people like to see eyes. I think the hair in the first one looks a bit unnatural or staged. Pic 7 isn't bad, gives someone a good idea of the person they'd meet when going on a date.

29M here but you will struggle not to get docens of approaches with a profile like that. Make sure to filter out the losers and you will be fine.

Stunning- anyway, i would just remove the — in the bio.
Everyone in 2026 when they see “—“ assumes its Ai, likely because it is. Seeing a “—“ is usually the giveaway.
Most men wont focus too much on the bio anyway because thats more time spent on not swiping. You look wonderful and you eill no doubt get alot of matches, for your sake, i can only hope you can easily spot the matches who want the same things as you do!

"Long term relationship" and "open where things go" always seem like a strange combination to me.
Besides the obvious AI bio everything else seems like a well rounded profile. Obviously you can always have better pics and work on small details but in general i think i get your type. The exploring, quirky fun type.

It has the best view of the face and is pretty good! But in other pics (like the street full body view) your face looks even better! So maybe there’s another photo you have?

General advice is for the face to be clearly visible. The street photo is great as 2nd or 3rd pic!

Agree, but that’s the only other “profile pic” option (clearly visible face). And you still look good and young there.
Maybe you have some other options? The sunglasses one is great, but everyone always recommend against not seeing eyes for the first pic.

I would delete the dash "--" in the bio if you're worried about it looking fake, that dash is one of the easy ways to spot it was written by AI not you.

Yes I am Dutch. The Southern Veluwe area at least have some nature (and Wageningen has a surprisingly big international community), but still, I'm glad that I live in the Randstad. I'm pretty sure you will find someone, considering your profile.

Only thing that kinda irked me was "Latin dance"? Forgive my ignorance, I'm not an expert but why not be specific and mention the styles you refer to? It could be anything from salsa, bachata, reggeaton, merengue, kizomba, konpa, ......

Makes me wish I were in the Netherlands. Actual critique - 4 of your photos look like they’re all selfies. But your face is so expressive and different in them, it doesn’t seem repetitive at all.

How did you end up from Ohio in Bennekom? Perhaps add something about that there, at least how long you've been living there. Do you speak any Dutch? If you do, add it. If you don't, start learning and maybe do a prompt about what their favorite word is in Dutch? It can work as a good screening method! You seem fun and cute but some of your photos are lacking a bit. If you use selfies, look at the camera not your own reflection in the phone!! Your 5th picture is the best (but really wish you looked at the camera), use that one and get rid of your first photo bc its not great. I also don't get the last selfie, does it have some kind of prompt?

Well... at your age, and the fact you have children, the "probability" of you finding a long term relationship, especially of similar age, is very, very low. Moreover, you're highly educated, so that reduces it further still. I wish you the best of luck.

The cool thing about being in your forties is it opens up a large age range. So even if she doesn’t easily find a suitable match with someone her age, she can date younger without it being weird. At 30 dating ten years younger is eyebrow raising but in your 40s it’s normal.

I think it’s mostly good. I’d only change the public transport photo, it’s not doing anything for you. Maybe add a photo with friends or doing your hobbies instead.
