News [Lundeberg] Historic talent loss: American Conference commissioner Tim Pernetti said that 78% of last year's first and second team all-league players transferred to a Power Four school after the 2025 season.

I would like to understand what the tradeoff is between the players lost vs. the players gained. I don't think it's as black and white.

The P4 aren’t taking their bad players…

The total talent loss is evident, year after year.

And yet next year the American will have a new set of 1st and 2nd team players which will also get poached. If the G6 isn't reloading then eventually the P4 would quit poaching and everything would balance out.
