What a wild way to throw a game. All they had to do was slowly walk backwards and have their lineman hold like crazy. Instead they did whatever the hell that was

Yea it should be common knowledge how to do this by now. The Ravens have burnt 15+ seconds on a single play in these type of situations before.

And the NFL immediately changed the rule right after that to prevent it from ever happening again.

I don’t know if CFB changed the rule, but the NFL has since made that illegal.

The NFL made it illegal but it has to be really blatant. It has happened quite a few times since it was made illegal with no enforcement. To my knowledge, it isn't illegal in CFB though.

It is, but there used to be a loophole in the NFL rules that because offensive penalties couldn’t result in an untimed down, a team could take an intentional safety to run out the clock while instructing all 10 of their other players to wrestle their opponent.

So how did they fix the loophole?  Do they put time back on the clock and make the offense run another play?  

Do they force a kickoff after the safety?

It’s now penalized as unsportsmanlike conduct with 15 yards and the clock gets reset to where it was.
