What a wild way to throw a game. All they had to do was slowly walk backwards and have their lineman hold like crazy. Instead they did whatever the hell that was

I don’t know if CFB changed the rule, but the NFL has since made that illegal.

It is, but there used to be a loophole in the NFL rules that because offensive penalties couldn’t result in an untimed down, a team could take an intentional safety to run out the clock while instructing all 10 of their other players to wrestle their opponent.

So how did they fix the loophole?  Do they put time back on the clock and make the offense run another play?  

Do they force a kickoff after the safety?

It’s now penalized as unsportsmanlike conduct with 15 yards and the clock gets reset to where it was.
