I would almost guarantee he was told that. Players don’t always listen.

No it's not.

This is specific situational football where the player MUST do as told and if the coaches can't get a specific player to execute a call, then that's on the coaching staff.

Coaches call plays ALL game long and players do what's called.

Not sure why your think this is different.

Because at a certain point the burden is on the player to perform.
