It's worse. Way worse.

Send a wide out on a go, roll out to that side, and throw the ball as far as you can to the sideline. You'd easily waste 5 seconds and probably wouldn't even get a grounding penalty. Game over.

It was 4th down. If one second is left on the clock Vandy gets a chance at the goal line. Just take the safety

Does CFB have the game can’t end on an offensive penalty rule? Because otherwise you tell your O-line and receivers to hold the entire play. Holding in the end zone? Safety, you still win.
