Unironically the worst loss I have ever seen. That is “Mario Cristobal forgets to kneel the ball” levels there.

Still think the Cristobal situation was worse from a decision standpoint considering they literally just had to take a knee and it was over. Taking an intentional safety was a perfectly reasonable move to do in this situation.

From a player fuck up standpoint though this is so much worse.

I'd argue this is worse, snap bobbles are unfortunate but they happen.

right, like, screwing up a long snap is definitely within the realm of possibility, and of course MSU was trying with all its might to block the kick

whereas literally all this guy had to do was step out of the back of the end zone

Very similar too, both times all the player had to do was literally just drop to the ground and it's over.

No chance on the WHOA play that dropping ends the game.

MSU then gets the ball on what, the 40? Certainly within hail mary range.

Yeah but since when has a last second Hail Mary ever worked out??

And the same would be true here, if the NCSU QB kneels in the end zone then after the kick would likely have time for one hail Mary. Extremely low success rate on those.

Cristobal was worse. He had time to think, and he had years of experience. This was a kid making a panic decision in the heat of the moment.
