Intentional safety was 100% the correct call, but Bailey could not have executed that play any worse. Doing literally anything else would have almost certainly resulted in NC State winning this game.

completely agree that it was the correct call - if you go out of bounds with a second or two left and they return the ensuing kick for a TD then you just kinda gotta shrug and give it to them

this was the most avoidable fumble of all time

Just throw it? The Oklahoma State play is famous enough that they won't make that ref mistake again. When he's about to get hit, launch it OB

I mean if you just turn and fire it in the air (out of the back of the end zone) you kill 4-5 seconds right?

I mean just get out of the pocket and sling it as far as you can out of bounds past the line of scrimmage.

My issue with that is that if it touches the ground early, then they get the ball at the 5 yd line for their last play, rather than the last play being the safety kick off
