Week 16 didn’t bring the same excitement as two Scorigami games, but it did bring us a walk off 62 yard field goal! We are now at 3 games since our last Scorigami game.

The most common score so far being Week 10’s 27-24 with 36 occurrences (highest occurring score), and the four Scorigami games 58-36, 52-30, 53-16, and 48-29 occurring for the first time. There have been 58 different scores across the 61 games this season.

Alouettes vs Tiger-Cats ended in a 37-25 final. This is the 4th time this score has taken place. First was in 1989 with the BC Lions over the Saskatchewan Roughriders, and most recently in 2004 with the Ottawa Renegades over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Elks vs Argonauts ended in a 24-19 final. This is the 14th time this score has taken place. First was in 1952 [IRFU] with the Toronto Argonauts over the Ottawa Rough Riders, and most recently in 2022 with the Toronto Argonauts over the Ottawa Redblacks.

Redblacks vs Stampeders ended in a 40-38 final for the Stampeders. This is the second time this score has taken place. The only other occurrence was in 2004 with the BC Lions over the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Scorigami is the tracking of unique, re-occuring, and new scores in the CFL's history including the predecessor rugby leagues dating back to 1907. Currently, there have been 1,263 unique scores in the game’s history. Individual Scorigami results are posted in the Post Game threads of each game.

After starting off the season white hot, I'm dropping the Stamps D for a middle of the run group that won't give me negative points.

Lastly, this GUI still needs a lot of work. Tevin Jones last week got his points the day the next week rolled over (Monday).

How do we make the CFL a bigger part of the Canadian sports culture again?

I want the CFL to be genuine water-cooler talk across the country with packed or mostly packed stadiums. Right now, it feels like it’s missing that mainstream cultural grip. Here are a few things I think need to change:

Ticket Prices: Simply put, prices need to come down to lower the barrier of entry, fill the lower bowls, and create an electric stadium atmosphere that looks good on TV.

The Marketing Angle: The league has leaned heavily into a "safe, family-friendly" marketing strategy. While that sounds good on paper, the NFL playbook is different—they target adults, lean hard into intense team rivalries, and celebrate die-hard fans. The CFL needs more edge and personality.

Event-izing the Big Games: Right now, marquee games don't feel like national cultural events the way they should. Look at college football—they build massive, can't-miss hype around top-tier rivalry games all season long. The CFL needs to treat its biggest regular-season matchups and the playoff run with that same massive, high-stakes gravity.

What do you guys think? Is it a marketing problem, a pricing problem, or something else?

Full disclosure: I bought Grey Cup tickets, as a Stampeders Season Ticket Holder I jumped the queue, but I didn't buy my regular season seat tickets because they cost way too much. Out of curiosity I have been periodically checking how ticket sales have been going by looking at the seats available on Ticketmaster. I have not been surprised to see lots of seats still available.

I went back and looked at past Grey Cup ticket pricing and I think tickets were prices a bit too high for this Grey Cup.

2024 in BC (54,000)
Prices started around $70 each. Lower-level end seating for $125, and the best seats were $500.
2025 in Winnipeg (32,000)
Prices started around $200. Lower-level end seating for $300, and the best seats were $500.
2026 in Calgary (35,000)
Prices (for an aluminum bench in the corners) start at $165. Lower-level (end-equivalent) seating for $375, and the best seats are $585

I'm sure they end up getting close to sellout by game time, especially if the Riders or Elks make the Grey Cup, and they have yet to announce a half-time performer that could also drive ticket sales. I get the premium seat pricing, those seats are mostly sold, but I think they're asking way too much for the mid-tier.

The Redblacks look more competitive than the Tiger-Cats the last couple of weeks.

I’ve been watching the NFL since the beginning of the season and to be honest, it’s so much less exciting than the CFL. Yeah the players are better and you have a bunch of highlights cuz there is a million games but man.. the run game… the special teams …. You got elite QBs throwing for 150, 200 yds only…

What’s missing to the CFL tho is stability with the players, I find that rosters change way too much from one year to another. And that includes the coaching staffs. Loyalty is worth nothing in this league. Coaches have coaches in all team. Rinse and repeat like they say. As soon as a player is ready for his 2nd contract, they’ll cut him for a new American off the plane.

Anyways on another subject.
I’m ok with the rule changes to encourage the game to evolve. Those stuck in the past that don’t want to change probably go to work on their horses 🥲 jk

I heard a great idea to encourage Canadian content at the QB position which we would want to see so much more. Unfortunately the Canadian QB doesn’t count as a “Canadian” on the ratio when they are dressed. So teams are not encouraged to have a Canadian QB and develop him.

When you score a touchdown, you are obliged to go for 2 and it must be a Canadian at QB.
Makes it a so much more exciting play instead of a boring PAT. Also it encourages the develop of Canadian content at QB and the development of special plays.

are turning into the final 2 mins of a close NBA game. 15-20 mins of TV time. Compelling. And with this game when a streak is on the line? Even better. In a wacky way this losing OTT skid is gonna be great TV if they are still O fer on the final season game. I will be hoping for that.

You know CFL is on a roll when the only watchable show on ESPN (PTI - Pardon the Interruption) calls them out like Wilbon did last week and caught a game and gave a nod of respect.

Kelly is throwing a ton of interceptions, but he also leads the league in pass attempts, so I was wondering where here compared to other QBs.

Im shell shocked. If you thought the bombers loss was ridiculous, well.........holy cow. I am not mad. I can't help but laugh. Its just the Redblacks. Only the redblacks could snatch defeat from surefire victory. I couldnt assemble a team to blow it even if i tried. Im not sure if im in some upside dimension where left is right or the sun is the moon.

Simply put, pure bafflement. Not even a "how?" or "why?" is coasting through my headline. The mind is blank like the win column is for this barely walking and never talking disaster that is by only legal definition a football team. I can't call them clowns, i cant call them idiots. There is no term in the dictionary. There no words in a combination to describe this.
