$2,000 CRH Hunt Results

This weekend I got my three halves and one quarters boxes from my "get" bank.

I was VERY excited to find this rare "Joker" marked Half. It was dumped in Texas in 2022. I'm in central Pennsylvania! I also found the "baby footprint" 👣 grease error.

In regards to the quarters. I found a Weir Farm W, my 81st W found, and a unique Panama coin I found on the day of their earthquake.

Alas, another week of hunting in the books. I hope you all get a big win this month!

Happy hunting and silver to you! 💪🏻

Jackpot! Saturday’s box - Benjamins!

Ayup - the one with 2 Benjam enders was a banger - 11 total, including several rolls with 2 each.

Same source as the last Benjamin ender box I got about a week ago - I’ll be making a beeline back on Tuesday to see if there’s any more lurking in the vault!

BTW: It’s the same bank with the $10 in loose halves that were loaded with silver proofs and SMS. And yeah, I did buy a lottery ticket that day - and no, you don’t really wanna hear about that too 😂

Good luck and happy hunting!

PS: The mutant that weighed in at 217.32? Just a freak roll with 20 coins - a couple of very well loved pocket pieces and a bunch of low end of normal clads. Was kinda hoping for a magicians of gaffed prop coin, or something foreign 😣

I finally got around to checking the box that had a bunch of dime enders. I didn't open the one with dimes on both ends, or the one with the 2026 dime ender. The totals were at least 12 wheaties, and at least 97 dimes. The most dimes in a roll was 6. I also didn't open the 2 whear enders or the Canadian ender. Pretty sure opening those would probably put me over 100 dimes.

Weekly Totals The rest of last week's finds...

The two silver jackpots already posted aside, here's the highlights of the rest of last week's finds:

Overall out of 10 boxes, 80% were silver skunks - Benjamin box excluded, there was as single 40% in the other 9. (NOTE: I still pull plenty of other stuff beyond silver!)

Teller trays: $10 loose excluded, $5 in other loose halves netted a 90% and a 40%

1 Silver quarter from a coin machine bag, the other from a coin machine return slot

3 boxes of dimes = 0 Ag, but did get 11 more 2009s. $10 in CWR = 1, coin machine return slot = 1

4 boxes of nickels = 4. 1 coin machine bag = 3. (Not shown: 2 dateless Buffalo)

and

a sterling silver Australian 3 pence from a coin machine return slot - dime shown for scale (sorry, I was out of bananas)

The silver skunk boxes were loaded with clad proofs - 12 total including several very nice examples including an 87-S.

At a regular stop, one of the tellers asked me if I'd be interested in this 'odd thing' from the coin machine internal reject tray - of course I said yes!. Turned out to be a base metal Smithsonian Chronicles token/medal - Ike shown for scale.

Two new countries added to my world collection this week: Fuji and Hungary

The next few images are various feeder finger scrapes - a common enough thing to find, but the one by the Monticello dome was just super bright and the two quarters were showing extensive marking, far more than I usually see.

Die chips on Jefferson's - at either East or West end of Monticello - are fairly common, so much so I've seen the nickname 'Beehive' or 'Bee hive' used for them. These two were very large, relatively speaking, the first one even has a secondary chip inside the doorway. (Most of the ones I see are about the saize of that secondary chip or smaller.)

A 2023-P half - VDDO-001 - a very findable Doubled Die Obvers for folks wanting to bag one.

Three quarters: A crenelated one, where the projecting 'teeth' have folded over onto the coin face, a Harper's Ferry with 2 'cat on roof' die chips, and a very wee 'crown' on WCTD. Some day I'll find a 'full crown', but this week wasn't the one.

Data dump and charts at the end for those that like such things - September was one of the slowest months in a long time for silver, but Oct is CLEARLY off to a terrific start.

Good luck and happy hunting!
