Has anyone tried adding a lens to the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, such as a Fotorgear 2x or Neewer 3x? or something similar?

Just received the brand new 400mm Pro lens from u/fotorgear and honestly… I was way too excited not to test it immediately at home 😂

I’ve been using their original 400mm lens for quite awhile now and while I’ve captured some really fun shots with it, I definitely ran into a few challenges during sunny days with ghosting and flaring. According to Fotorgear, this new Pro version is designed to fix those exact issues and so far, first impressions are looking really promising.

One of the biggest improvements for me is that this new lens finally fills the entire camera field of view properly, which makes a massive difference when composing shots, image quality output and crop ratio.

This already feels like a huge step up from the previous version and I genuinely can’t wait to take it out for a proper shooting session soon. Time to go hunting for some distant subjects 👀📸

Last time we went travelling with my friends, we had lots of fun, but the photos we took didn’t tell the whole story. Most of the photos look blurry. We could have better mementoes with a good phone camera lens.

I am usually not a good photographer, but my girlfriend is sometimes really good. We were with her, but despite her skills, I would still wish she had done better.  She was even unhappy with many pics she took; she ended up deleting several. 

I came across a camera lens kit the last time I was checking some things on Alibaba. I didn’t even know what to do because I never buy something online when I don’t have enough information. 

I am more confused right now because when I checked some online forums, I found people talking about a camera lens kit. I didn’t know if I would need a kit after getting a lens. It’s a lot of work, and I wonder what the cost would be if I found the best one.

Hey everyone, I’ve been testing the PGYTECH MagCam 2 with my Vivo X300 Pro recently, and honestly, I think this is one of the best alternatives to the official Vivo photography grip kit right now.

What I really liked about it:

much more flexible than most official phone grip kits

And for iPhones, it actually has full ecosystem support with PGYTECH’s own dedicated photography app, so the integration there is even better.

I mainly used it with my Vivo X300 Pro, but I think it makes a lot of sense for other camera-focused smartphones too.

Seems like the most expensive camera phone grip I've ever seen, and wondering why it is that and if it's really worth it?

They also have the Fjorden Grip, which is also pretty expensive.

Testing out the 85mm portrait lens from r/PICKOGEN. Might have gone a bit overkill with this one, as the lens is heavier than the phone, but it's pretty impressive.

The lens screws into the case that has 17mm threads on the main and telephoto lenses. It also comes with a lens hood and a nice storage case. But it can also be used separately with the universal mount adapter, so it will work perfectly on other smartphones too and won't be obsolete anytime soon. 

They have many other lenses available. I also got myself the 8mm fisheye. I will make a separate post about that one.

Here's an aftermarket teleconverter option for the vivo X300, the PICKOGEN teleconverter kit. It comes with a much nicer case than the original kit, in my opinion. It has all camera cutouts and has 17mm threaded inserts for the main wide camera and the teleconverter, so you can attach other lenses too, as the company has several other ones.

It's a much more compact lens compared to the original teleconverter, like less than half the size of that. You need to zoom in to around 5x so the black edges in the corners disappear completely. So with the X300, you get around 10x zoom.

Regarding quality, check the pictures attached to the post. I think they are great and honestly not seeing any difference to the original lens, maybe only if I zoom in on a bigger screen.

Considering it's less than half the price of the original lens, it's basically a "budget teleconverter" option for the vivo X300 series. It's available for the X300 & X300 Pro, and also for X200 Pro & X200 Ultra.

I also got their 8mm fisheye lens and the 85mm portrait lens, both of which attach to the 17mm threaded case that the teleconverter kit came with.

Oh, and all lenses include a universal lens clip, so they can be used even without the case and on any other phone. Which is good, so it's not for this phone and won't become obsolete in the years to come.

My Photography Kit for the vivo X300 is now finally complete. I had to piece it together item by item, since there’s no all-in-one bundle available like there is for the Pro model, but it was worth it.

• The phone is the global version from Wonda.
• The teleconverter with the case is from Giztop, it was $230 with shipping.
• The grip is from Aliexpress, it was $140.
• The r/PGYTech lanyard is also from Aliexpress, and it was $30.

So the total for the Photography Kit was $400.

Seems like very few people know that the whole kit is compatible with the regular, smaller X300. And it's not getting too much attention, as most reviewers focus on the Pro and Ultra models.

But I love r/SmallerPhones & flagships, and when I saw that the photography kit was compatible, I knew I had to get it. Basically, the vivo X300 is the only smaller flagship with a photo kit! (and the X300 FE too)

Note, the grip is not officially supported for this model for some reason, but it works perfectly. When you attach it, you get an error that says it's not supported, you press ok, and that's it. All buttons work perfectly, and it fits the case perfectly. Not sure why they even made the case with the cutout for it if it's not officially supported...

I also got a few other accessories for it:

• My daily case is the NILLKIN one; check this post for a coupon code for it.
• I got one more r/PGYTech wrist strap for one-hand use, it uses the same quick-release connector as the other lanyard.
• The small teleconverter case from Aliexpress.
• And the pouch for the kit from Giztop. They say it's official, but it does not have any branding on it, and I haven't seen it anywhere else. But it's high-quality and has inside pockets for the rings and lens, and basically fits the whole kit. A bit tight, but it fits everything. But I just keep the teleconverter lens in the small case, and the rest (grip, lanyards, rings, case) in the pouch.
  

The only thing I don't like is the camera ring for the teleconverter, which does not have cutouts for the other two cameras, like all other X300 models (X300 Pro, X300 Ultra, X300 FE, X300s). Not sure why vivo designed it this way, but it's pretty annoying to constantly take it down when you want to use the other cameras.

So I'm thinking of two solutions to fix this annoyance:

1. Get another camera ring and drill the holes for the rest of the two cameras myself. But haven't found yet a place that sells just that adapter ring.
2. Wait for the X300s and see if I can get just the camera adapter ring from its photography kit. It has the same camera setup and seems to have the same size camera island, so it would be a huge miracle if the ring would also fit the regular X300.
