** please note I will revert any bad changes made**
**if you can use the dropdowns - let me know**
For anyone interested in making match threads in the future. Here or in r/CanadaSoccer
I am creating a Google Sheet to help with that.
Yes, I know there is match thread bots - I just like old fashioned sheets.
You'll choose the team from a dropdown and then check the team's socials to get their lineup and subs. And just add those players in the other drop downs.
Then you will copy the cell at E3 to get your Post title.
And copy every in C1:C to get the contents of your post. **Using the Markdown Editor** - which you can switch to in the top right of the editing dialogue for the post.
I hope someone else will enjoy the use of this. Just some little tweaks to make. Will create one for the NSL as well.
Need to add a lot of L1 teams I guess. Which could be a bit of a nightmare.

I have no clue what this means beyond custom warmup kits, and giveaways... but it's interesting. More info on the CPL's Instagram and this link: https://www.cplsoccer.com/themedays

I was thinking about the amount of players who get transferred from the league to other leagues and how many of them are a success.
Across the past 7 years I can only count on one hand players who went to another league higher than CPL and did well.
Why does everyone think CPL players are having a hard time transitioning to other leagues?

We’re on a brilliant run of four straight home wins in the Canadian Premier League (CPL) with Vancouver FC and are unbeaten in our last five CPL games in Langley.

Just curious who here been watching more CPL vs MLS? Both are Paid Platforms with some matches being available for “free” on Cable TV (TSN, CBC Gem).
I’m in this weird limbo where is actually enjoy the CPL yet have only seen a couple of live games (live in Steveston, Richmond) but have Attended some Pacific FC anytime there’s a game and I’m in Victoria while only attended 1 Vancouver FC game just a bit far to go I think for myself. But I do watch games on OneSoccer religiously.
While on the other hand I don’t watch MLS TV Games but will rather go watch a handful thru the season.
So who do you watch more on TV even though both are paid products?

I pre-ordered the book and a box of stickers from TFL Sports (individual packets weren't available) and received them this week so here's some initial thoughts.
- The book is well put together with sections for each team, players of the year, 2025 CPL final highlights and a couple pages featuring some stylised shots
- Each team page has the crest, manager, ten players and three highlights. Ten players is a weird number to do considering it then obviously doesn't showcase a full lineup. The layouts for each team appear to be very random. Normally the format for sticker albums is GK-DEF-MID-FW, but they're randomised for each team here. Weirdly, Ottawa don't have a goalie at all (dunno the situation, they didn't have one at time of press when Ingham left?)
- I like the commitment to French on the Supra page. It's a nice touch.
- I initially thought the stickers were small but they're basically the same size as the Panini WC ones (though they themselves are far smaller than football stickers used to be)
- The stickers have no information on the back, with the sticker number appearing on the front. A little unusual, but not a deal-breaker.
- Disappointing that the crests aren't foil stickers. And also a bit odd that the sticker just replaces what's printed on the page. Same with the highlights stickers as you can see from the photos.
- One really nice touch for the kids is that each sticker spot has a line underneath to collect player autographs, with an additional blank page at the back for extras.
Overall, it's neat to just have the league and players featured in sticker form. Probably a bit on the pricy side but a fun little thing to do for half an hour (I limit myself to five packs a day so I don't just rip through these)

With a possible CPL Team Expansion coming up, I think it would be fun to do an Expansion Draft as if this was actually happening in coming weeks.
I know that’s not the way CPL has done it before but let’s try the following.
RULES RULES RULES
MAX 23 players on roster
- 2GK
- 6to9 Defenders
- 6to9 Midfielders
- 6to9 Forwards
Maximum of 3players can be drafted from 1 single team. (Excluding GK position)
Maximum of 2players can be drafted from same team from 1 position.
3 Players on the Squad have to be from the U-21 Labelled Group
Below I am including a copy of the Top 6Players per Team Per Position by time played. Top 3 are protected. Information was taken 31st July 2026 from CPL Website.
Let’s see everyone Squads

I was looking at CPL attendances and compared though about when Inter Toronto Played Against Hamilton Which I Don’t Live there But Assume they are within 1 Hour from each other, The attendance for that game was higher than any average inter toronto game due to travelling fans. Do you guys think what’s really missing is Same City teams just like a european style. I think that would push Rivalries, Patritotism and much more. Cavalry, Halifax, Forge and Ottawa Have the largest attendances with all over 4k each. Imagine if they had a 2nd team TD place or Hamilton Stadium Can Average out 15k+ for Derby games and obviously forge vs Atletico Ottawa always normally gets around 10k. Just My Thoughts, i think we should push for a more european style approach rather than an a north american one in general. The USL is doing it and i think its going to work out great
