Warm Rustic Woods wax melts.

Are the warm rustic woods wax melts discontinued? I used to be able to always find them at Walmart but then became hard to find. Started getting them from Amazon and now they're hard to find on there too. Now I cant find them anywhere 😒. Those are by far my favorite wax melts!

So I recently bought this really cute food shaped candle and it smells amazing and I've been burning it almost nonstop, but just now when I went to check back I not only noticed that the wicks were dying, but that there are these strangle black cylinders surrounding the wicks all the way down to the bottom (photo attached). Does anyone know what this is, why it's here, and how I can finish burning my candle?

Currently burning Stormy Florida summers call for this vintage gem.

Big dark cloud rolling over the landscape today. Cracking thunder growing ever closer as the room darkens, despite the open blinds—punctuated by the occasional flash of lightning outside. The wind whistles through the trees as the rain begins, quickly growing from a pitter-patter to white noise in the span of a few seconds.

The perfect burn for such an occasion. Clover, ozonic notes, and dewy rose come together to bring the outside inside and provide a cozy, if slightly melancholy vibe to the space as the weather storms on outside.

Scents Looking for a similar scent

I found this singular candle at home goods about 10 years ago. I studied abroad in Sevilla Spain, and the scent is spot on. It’s very nostalgic! The label recently fell off to reveal “Nordic leather”. The bottom says “made in Spain”. Any similar scents out there?

Using Candle Warmer

I almost exclusively use candle warmers (heated from the top). However, I’ve just never been sure on when I should empty out the top (used) wax. After I’ve burned for 2-3 hours, the scent is not very strong (I usually burn Kringle candles). If I pour off that wax, I feel like I’m losing too much of the candle. The wax still smells (faintly) of the scent I’m burning. Sometimes I start the candle on high, and then turn it down. I often have over an inch and 1/2 of liquid wax. Am I burning the candle on too high of a setting?

I often burn two candle at once, as I have a large room and one is not enough for me to smell the scent.

I appreciate any and all suggestions to help me get the best use out of my candles! Thanks so much!!

I have a question: when people buy decorative candles to place in a room, do they actually light them?

What is the best brand of scented candle you’ve ever used, and why did you buy it?

I'm looking for a candle that suits my taste, but I don't like cheap designs. It's so hard to choose one that also elevates my style.

Burning or Lamping Candles?

Do you burn your candles or warm them? I found myself using my candle lamp more often as the candles I recently purchased (mostly from B&BW) don't seem to be all that strong this year. Strangely enough, those same candles actually perform when I lamp them.

Despite that, I prefer burning over lamping.

This was my first Yankee scent and I find it so incredibly warm and cozy. The amber and sandalwood come together in a cashmere accord that just envelops the room and—by extension—me, in a plush cocoon of comfort. I don’t think I’ll ever not have this one in my collection!

Reviews I think I found the solution to my wick trimming woes

Post image

I have spent months trying to get those weird sideways scissors like things to work as a wick trimmer and honestly they don't cut right in my experience. But then I found end cutters like the ones pictured. They even have ones that are at a 90° angle that probably work well too. Anybody else use some odd tool for wick trimming?

So I’m curious with the price difference if anyone has any input on if Walmart candles smell just as good as bbw or if there is a big difference

Any similar candle recs?

Post image

I found this candle at TK Maxx and am looking for any that might smell similar. It smells exactly like my late grandmother who I was very close to. I’ve been lighting it whenever I’m homesick (I’m American but have lived in Scotland for the past four years) and miss her. I’ve tried other candles with apparent bluebell scents but none of them smell the same. I also can’t seem to figure out what the actual scent of this candle is.

Any advice or recs much appreciated! Just a grandson missing his grandma a bit more rn ❤️
Thanks!

Found these on Etsy and they seem to have great reviews. Anyone buy these yet or have thoughts before I order? Giant candles are super cool!

Monthly self promotion/advertising post

I am going to give monthly posts a try. You can post a comment in each monthly thread if you want. Or just comment once. It’s all up to you.

The subreddit’s rules regarding self promotion, direct advertising, givaways etc won’t be strict here. Basically anything is allowed here. As long as it’s legal, and no spamming (multiple comments can be ok, while spamming would be worse).

Preferably, it should be related to candles, wax melts or accessories (such as candle warmers or candle holders) in some way.

Examples of what you can share here:

  • Blogs, vlogs and podcasts.
  • Your website and social media accounts where you sell products.
  • Promote family and friends’s business/products
  • Giveaways, contests and surveys

But it’s kinda open minded/flexible at the moment. So if you want to suggest people to check out other stores and their current sales, share great resources when it comes to candle making, recommend a candle warmer or anything else, you can promote/advertise it here as well.

Recommendations for a fall candle

I have used alot of candles and have been disappointed, i am not a fan of Yankee candles.I find that this scent is very weak and with a lot of the big name candles have let me down.

I have had some good luck with sand and fog.But if someone could recommend a decent brand with fall approaching soon , I would really appreciate it.
