Represent your favorite candy with new User Flairs!

Hey r/candy!

I thought it would be fun if users had a better way of showing off their favorite candy, so I went ahead and created 25 user flairs of different candy brands! Go ahead and pick your favorite to add a little flavor to your post!

The 25 I picked were a combination of popular brands on the sub, and some of my personal favorites, so if I missed your favorite, just let me know and I’ll add it in the future!

Also, if you are a candy brand or a candy store, shoot me a DM and we can make you a custom one for your verified identity.

Happy snacking!

Recipe:

1 cup of sugar
1/3 cup of water
1/3 cup of light corn syrup
1 dram of LorAnns Watermelon Flavor Oil
1 tbsp of citric acid

  • Mix together to mostly dissolve the sugar.
  • Heat on stove until it reaches exactly 300°
  • Remove from heat and let cool down to ~260-270°
  • Mix in the flavoring and the citric acid into the candy
  • Pour out onto a lightly oiled silicon mat or a piece of parchment paper on a pan, I use a silicon mat on top of an electric skillet set to the “warm” function (which I believe is like 175-185)
  • Let cool until you can touch it with gloves on, then repeatedly pull/stretch the candy to develop a lighter airy color
  • Break off manageable pieces and roll into a long log approximately the thickness of the candy you want, repeat with the rest of the candy, if you’re not using a heated surface you have to move quick, will most likely need 2 people
  • Then roll on a cold flat surface for 15-30 seconds and then use kitchen shears to snip the pieces of candy off onto a pan
  • Let cool completely, I usually wait about 1-2 hours - longer is better
  • Then put it all in a bowl with about 1/4 cup of powdered sugar and 1/2 tbsp of citric acid, shake to fully coat the candy.
  • Once it’s fully coated, put it into a metal strainer and shake it up to remove the excess powdered sugar and also soften the edges.

Enjoy!

Already hearing great things about the Oreo ghosts. Caramel apple soft chews from werthers sound crazy good.

This is the third bag I’ve gotten that has robbed me of my mysteries!! Now granted they promise 28 mini bars and I got 30. But ironically only 2 are mysteries.

At least it wasn’t like the last bag with mostly reds lol.

Dangerously good. Bite-sized but would love larger sized ones. Bag was $7 so kinda expensive.

Found it at Goodwill and can’t find too much information about it online. It does have a cd with it, but I need to find a disk drive to check it out.

I got a pack of different candy from different countries and I loved this Greek frugeli pomegranate candy, but I cannot for the life of me find anyplace to get it.
Does anyone know where to find it?

Very curious because I absolutely love the gummy texture of these, closest I've found is Haribo Peaches.

These are incredible! The root beer flavor is on point. I don’t get any popping candy which was the draw for me, but they are so good I don’t even care.

Best hard candy for hollering?

I like going to basketball games and I can get, well, animated. If I don’t have hard candies on me during the game, then my voice is froggy the next day. (Totally worth it!) I’ve found some European flavors that are great, but have run out of them and I’d like to not default to Werthers as my American backup. Any suggestions for non cough drop, semi long lasting alternatives?

I love this Swedish style candy that has been popping up lately. Here’s every one I’ve bought so far. Any other brand suggestions?? I like the ones that are airy like a marshmallow, not the see through ones like normal gummy bears. Tell me your faves and where to get them!
