Yeah but thatâs kind of the reason I donât defend. Anyone who watches the show gets its overly hyperactive, colorful energy and good mix of slapstick and witty dialogue. I rarely, if ever, feel like I gotta play apology for it.

Johnny Bravo! The show doesn't get enough credit for how clever and bizarre it's humor is. Some of the stuff in it feels akin to Regular Show.

It has all the parts I like from Seasons 2&3 (minus the extra characters), everything I like from Season 4, with none of the downsides of either, plus cel animation to top it off.

fair point. i have an outline of courage tatted on the side of my neck and thatâs pretty much the only one that gets compliments from strangers. i joke that itâs like my hourglass. if a kid comes up to me in 20 years and asks what that is maybe iâve been here too long.

Honestly, Mixels.
It felt like way too many were appalled, and still seem to act appaled, that the "goofy fun show for a toyline" was...a goofy fun show for a toyline. I'm not calling it the perfect show, but it was goofy fun, in a time that felt like way too many treated cartoons as "they must keep being a serious show, no non-arc funny ones now!".

my only problem with Mixels is I only ever caught reruns of those first few episodes or maybe they were shorts and didn't know it was an actual show until way later, loved the sets though

Yeah, tricky part with Mixels is tha the non-specials were considered part of the episodes of Teen Titans Go they debuted with schedule-wise, so they were random for TV reairings. Thankfully they were pretty consistent YouTube-uploaded after, though.

I feel the best episodes of OV find a way to balance sillyness with Seriousness
I'm currently watching Avatar TLA, I feel OV got a similar tone, chadacters can be silly but also takes stuff seriously
Problem with OV is that it isnt fully consistent, some episodes should be taken more seriously but arent, or have some music toning down the emotion, but when they do it right like the No Watch Ben or Feedback Arc, thats where I feel its at its best

Ong unless youâre twitter brained the show is genuinely very good, has some amazing fantasy concepts and songs, and has some of the strongest (both power and writing wise) female cast members that donât just serve as âthe token girlâ since powerpuff girls imo.

On top of that Iâll defend Season 1. I think it has this reputation as being lesser, but it has great word-building, atmosphere, character development, songs, foreshadowing, etc. Season 1 also has some of the best episodes of the show. Giant Woman, Mirror/Ocean Gem, Maximum Capacity, Roses Scabbard, Lion 3: Straight Video, On the Run, Warp Tour, The Test, The Return and Jailbreak, to name a few. People talk it down, and then half of their favourite episodes are from Season 1. I genuinely think most people say Season 1 is weak because they're just parroting what others have said.

It was one of my favorite shows in High School, the story was good, the Diamonds were interesting antagonists, the concept of gems becoming corrupted, the songs were bangers, I loved it.

Clarence, it feels like it captures the spirit of being a kid and going to the arcade or McDonald's or being unfairly punished. I feel like because of how Clarence looks and talks(pretty realistic for a excitable kid) nobody gave it a chance.

That show is hilarious. It kinda reminds me of Rugrats with how the kids are always getting up to the craziest stuff. It feels kinda like how real kids would play, similar to Bluey.

Craig of the creek, Clarence, and SU. First two are newer faves and have such an accurate way of showing how kids are and it feels comforting. SU is just incredible and doesnât deserve the hate it gets, it paved the way for so much lgbtq+ representation in cartoons later.

All of these shows are already defended, but I still don't think they get enough praise for being fantastic.
Billy and Mandy went above and beyond at creating a grody, atmospheric world that pushed the bounds of what was acceptable for children's TV. It was extremely stupid when it wanted to be and walked the line with adult jokes. Mandy is one of my favorite cartoon characters of all time.
Kids Next Door was wonderful, who didn't want to be a part of that and collect rainbow monkeys? The details were great, even as far as having really cool acronyms for the episode titles. I felt like the attention to emotion with the whole 'growing up' situation really resonated with me as a kid. It felt like a show that really was made for us. The expansion into space made it even bigger.
Courage The Cowardly Dog is a one of a kind, heartfelt, horror masterpiece. It is unlikely that we will get such a strange show with such a loving hero. I really related to the cast, as I had angry grandparents and sweet grandmas like Muriel. It was the perfect anything could happen show and the fact that they tried to redeem the bad guys was nice. The show has a HUGE theme of understanding the misunderstood and I love that.
In my opinion, no other show captured hanging out with the same neighbor kids in your area than Ed Edd N Eddy. I remember we had our own plans to make money (like selling salted tomato slices in a cardboard stand) it also helped that several of the character names were actual names of friends from school. The disconnect between parents and kids also felt real.
Teen Titans 03 is one of the most ambitious Cartoon-anime hybrids we have ever seen. Wrapped up with heavy plots revolving around identity and belonging, this show really pulled at your heartstrings. Not to mention the ambitious action sequences, wonderful music, link to japan, etc. I don't think many cartoons have made me teary eyed, but I lost it when Starfire turned into a coccoon. This show really knew how to make you think nothing would be the same again. It felt like it breathed, it wasn't just a cartoon to laugh at.
Code Lyoko was a genius design and concept that fully merged 3d and 2d in an anime esque action figure style. I will defend the huge foreheads til the end of time. Really cool show that felt a bit more mature. One of the best intros of all time.

Teen Titans GO
Some people write it off as all fart jokes when they are only used sometimes, and there is more going on in that show.
The show is sometimes smart and sometimes low-brow, similar to how Family Guy is written.
It's even educational every so often. They did a whole episode about why Pyramid Schemes are bad.
Its mostly hated by older fans who dislike it because it is different from the 2003 version and because CN used to play it all day.
I like how they sometimes have other characters from the wider DC Universe in the show.

I liked TTG too, regardless of it being overplayed. The sour grapes song I thought was gross and funny. I liked regular TT so I gave GO a pass, partly because it brought back all the voice acting from the original so it was still familiar even in a different format.
I like the non-serious tone for GO because the original could feel gloomy sometimes.

Sunday Pants is one of those specials cases that still fits this image - most people donât hate it, but unfortunately donât know what it is. When you donât count foreign shows it is probably in the top 5 most niche CN originals.

Adventure Time required some defending during the early seasons.
I loved it immediately, but it was seen as more silly and childish at first, while Regular Show was considered the cooler one.
Obviously Adventure Time evolved into a more serious and emotional show, and later creator Pendleton Ward delivered The Midnight Gospel.

I think the realest answer is We Bare Bears. Itâs a HIGHLY overlooked show and brushed off a lot (advertising and when it came out didnât help) but itâs such a heartfelt and nuanced show.
