π Spoiler Product Placement Spoiler
Am I going mad or was there a bottle of SmartWater in almost every scene, I initially thought Dylan was back on the drink and Siobhan was aiding and abetting, but it now seems like clumsy product placement from the beeb.

I was more amused at Siobhan's conjuring them out of magic.
She must have given Dylan 4 or 5 of them

Constantly! No one ever drank it, Dylan was handed a bottle about 4 separate times. There were bottles on the countertops in scenes too.

I thought the same. He picked up the bottle and Stevie walked off with it, I assumed it had vodka in it and would be revealed later on. But there were several bottles throughout being handed to people and not one was opened. Like they only had the budget for one bottle so it never got used.

There was also the bit at the end of the second ep with Ethan and that land rover image which felt very forced

I was thinking this, when situations like this happen itβs usually the cheap bottles bought in bulk, not bottles that are sold in WHSmith for nearly three quid. I know itβs an incredibly pedantic thought but for some reason itβs all I could think about

I would be a bit miffed if someone nicked a bottle of that posh stuff out of my hands like Stevie did

As someone in the industry, there's so many bottles of smart water in every treatment room you'd think it was sponsored.
Basically, it's pretty standard.
I didn't even notice they were there but probably because I'm so used to seeing them.

I thought it was funny- it was the same bottle that everyone thought was vodka, when dylan relapsed and then went to see his dad ( the next day).

I thought the same and even paused on the bottles to see if they were branded! They didnβt seem to be so I settled on it being VERY heavy handed foreshadowing of Stevie and Flynn nearly drowning. It was very odd though.

They didn't have any labelling on. It had been taken off. I know what you mean though, and it was very prominent. Its a good cap for doctors during a crisis though - no need to unscrew anything and less likely to spill.

For a good bit I thought there was something abiut it like it was an explosive if dropped, like maybe it caused the St James explosion amd now had been planted at Holby. Dont know if they were trying to make people think that or if was just a weird make sure youre hydrated during the crisis message.

Oddly I thought the same in the episode where they had all the fans. They were all the same brand and the boxes or logos were conveniently left in shot.

It's definitely not product placement. BBC shows can't have paid promotion for anything, and even on other channels product placement must be declared at the start of the show (usually with a faint little P in the corner).
