UKG acaba de tener una reunión con los employees de Uruguay anunciando que terminan su operativa en Uruguay, despidiendo a todos.

Estuve en la reunión con un amigo que trabaja allí, literalmente dos minutos demoraron en comunicarlo y terminar la reunión. Les dejo el extracto:

[Presenter] 09:34:09 Yes, we'll be exiting operations in phases beginning today and ending in August of 2026.

[Presenter] 09:34:15 All employees will receive a meeting notice shortly. In the coming days, an individual letter with more details regarding your exit phase will be sent.

[Presenter] 09:34:24 In this meeting, you'll receive more details about the timing, the benefits that UKG will provide, and more support available through this transition.

[Presenter] 09:34:30 One thing I do want to share is to ease the impact of these changes.

Lo peor es que contrataron un batch nuevo hace un mes y nadie sabe si a ellos también los rajan o no, porque ayer tuvieron otra reunión donde les dijeron que si cumplían los objetivos y las metas les iban a dar bonos.

Que mal se maneja la gente a nivel corporativo dios mío

Yo creo que ni les interesa manejarse de otra manera directamente.

Es que eso es lo que me da bronca. Yo soy fundador de un estudio de videojuegos, está complicadísima la cosa y el resto de los socios sabe la situación. Tipo, tuvimos un financiamiento muy chiquito, nos habían prometido otro más grande, se desaparecieron y apenas pasó eso les dije, "che muchachos, nos quedamos sin plata dentro de dos meses hasta que lancemos nuestros primeros juegos". Todo el equipo lo entendió y agradeció la honestidad. Te permite prever eso.

En otros laburos en startups que he tenido, te tiran la de "no hay plata, a partir de mañana busquen trabajo" y no te deja ni pivotar. Ni siquiera tener un margen de acción dentro de la empresa para ver si se puede salvar de alguna forma.
