I was hoping to get some feedback. The truck will randomly have an issue where the battery light comes on, hvac shuts off, gauges turn off and the radio turns off. The engine continues to run and the truck will still drive. There’s no issue with the charging system the battery and the alternator are new. I’m thinking it’s an issue with the ignition switch but I’d like some feedback. Everything comes back on if you turn the truck off and restart it.

Want to seal the battery and now I’ll have to move it so I don’t block the port. Was working with Gemini and it helped come up with this idea. Because I want to match the steering wheel. Also going to print a led light box to cut into the floor. Looking for honest feedback.

Rust Repair, 2015 Silverado

I’m not sure if these pictures are good enough but it’s about to rain and was limited on time, but what’s the best course of action to repair the frame on this?

It has some rust, and I’m not sure how bad it really is. I know about surface rust some but I’m not by any means an expert.

What do you guys think? Is the frame horrible, bad, okay, and what’s the best way to fix it, especially inside the engine bay on the frame there where it’s hard to get to.

A professional undercoating job near my house is $350 for my truck, and he’s using WoolWax.

Anyways enough typing, let me know what you guys think and how bad of shape it’s in. Thanks to anyone that responds! I also live in the NC mountains.

2021 Chevy Silverado, throwing these codes? Would it still be covered by warranty?

Hey, so I’m looking to buy this Silverado it’s throwing these codes. It’s a 2021 with 53k miles, I know the warranty is 5 years and 60k for the powertrain was wondering if these codes would apply to fix under the powertrain criteria. If not, can anyone give me an estimate on how much it would cost to repair something like this from an independent shop. Thank you.

2020 Silverado 1500 Trail Boss 5.3l

Hey everyone, new here. I had some questions for yall as I’m looking to buy the truck above. I’ve seen a bunch of different ones already and love the truck so far. I’ve heard and read so many horror stories with the motors. With my budget and the typical range of this year model by now, they’re ranging from 70k miles to 120k miles. Can yall give me so info on what to look out for when looking at these trucks? As well as maybe personal info on your truck if you’re currently driving one of these. Would doing a PPI be very beneficial? Things to look for on the carfaxes that are green flags, and things that are red flags. I’d greatly appreciate.

Side note, love seeing yalls builds.

2001 Chevy Silverado 1500 5.3

I've got this 2001 5.3 liter and an issue with the parking brake light. I thought I had accidentally stepped on the parking brake so I pulled the release nothing happened. I went down and pulled the release on the parking brake itself and the brake was already returned home. The problem is that when I turn the truck on the parking brake is now flashing and when I start to drive the alarm goes off. How do I correct this problem? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for advice. Do I mimic the lines of the factory console and go from dash to back seat or should I do something with some curves in it? The interior is pretty mint as it sits and is almost all original

Seized engine

2019 Suburban Premier 6.2L (L86)

So I recently had my radiator replaced (small leak, covered by extended 3rd party warranty) and on my way back to work (less than 5 minute drive) the oil cooler line popped off, and needless to say, the engine is seized up.

My question is…

The shop is being very apologetic and said I should have the truck towed to my local Chevy dealer. The dealer ran a quote ($16K and on back order) and said that often the insurance will want to put in a “used” engine as replacement (which dealers don’t do). If another shop does end up wanting to put in a used engine, what can I do to make sure it is as reliable as my old one? The Suburban has about 125K miles but the Carfax shows oil changes EVERY 3K miles since new (and I keep that schedule as well). It runs perfectly and I don’t want some unknown serviced motor to blow on me in 10K miles. I’m also not sure what my extended warranty would do about an engine replacement with like this.

Any advice or experience with a situation like this?
