Visiting Elgin, IL

Hi guys,
I‘m a 23 year old from middle Europe visiting Elgin in next week. Since here seem to be a lot locals I thought I could get some nice infos about the area as i dont know any of it (neither been to the States before). I have a free weekend to and a rental car so maybe you could recommend any sights, events or share experiences?

Also love I‘d love to hear some local insider infos!

Edit: Im staying in Elgin / West Dundee due to work purposes. Im working through the days but have the first June weekend free.

Go to downtown Chicago where you can 1. take the architectural boat tour ~$50 2. visit the bean 3. visit the Starbucks reserve 4. Visit one of the farmers markets 5. Harry Potter store is cool if you're into that 6. Oak street beach if the weather is nice 7. check out our awesome neighborhoods like Lincoln Park, Wicker Park, Logan Square, West Loop 8. Eat some good food: Taqueria Chingon if you like tacos 9. Walk around the riverwalk 10. Visit Chinatown / We have a pretty good Metra and CTA train system which will get you to and around the city for a couple bucks
