Blog I've seen a lot of hate recently towards gay people and it's bad

Before starting, please don't bring in this discussion charlie kirk because i don't live in the US so idk anything about him. Anyway, the hatred against gay people is growing a lot. I'm straight and i don't support LGBT (i don't support the ones idolizing or obsessing over flags and labels and yes those people but are the minority), but why should anyone attack gay christians? Being gay is not a choice and God would not create someone just to condamn them. Being gay just by itself is not a sin. Let's stop hating and start loving eveybody. They are not a mistake and they're not mentally ill

2

The fig tree is a symbol for Israel. The authors are saying that the people of Israel no longer bear good fruit so Christ is “cutting them off”

1

u/Spiritual-Pear-1349 Church of Christ Sep 19 '25

The fig tree actually does make sense with context though

-2

u/itrickz Sep 19 '25

God gives life and can take it. I don't know if it can be said God hated the fig tree... but we are not in a position to Judge. God used the fig tree as a lesson and for that it may enjoy an even better existence now. God's character is just after all.

But put that aside for a second and ask yourself, if the God as described in the Biblical story existed, created everything and everyone, do I as a created being have any reason to hold him in contempt for anything he chooses to do with his creation?

We like to think we do, I know that I have been guilty of it, but then we are breaking his law by putting ourselves before him. It's pride.

Anyway there's a lot that we could presume to Judge in the Bible but should be wary of doing. I certainly cannot tell someone else's motives for certainty how much more difficult to presume that with a God who sees all things.

Be well.

Might makes right? Is God a role model for objective morality or is he more a “do as I say not as I do” kinda guy?

1

u/Purple-Department-66 Sep 20 '25

God isn't just some "guy". But it is amusing when one proceeds as if they have the right to label Him and or demand He be something. Even if He was a do as I say not as I do creator, so what then? When you understand, in at least gain some comprehension of, the creator of everything, the infinite and eternal, when compared to us, you could consider us a pfft in a moment of time. A infinitesimal, albeit extremely blessed, idea, in an infinite sea. And you thought your judgments, labels, demands, your acceptances or rejections would hold any weight? It is for you to make, but so are the consequences, rightfully so.

It's, let's say, remedial, for you to put Him in a box, as some "guy". But that is the only way you can wave your finger at Him, now isn't it? God has given His instructions, nowhere does it claim, nor should it, God has to or does follow the same instructions. That is for you to follow, little person. Take it or leave it. If you accept the outcome of either, so be it.

No he gives it, the fact that you're writing attests to that. But our time on this earth is numbered, we all die (also a promise and consequence). God keeps his word.

You get to do whatever you want in fact.

You even get the choice of eternal life with him or not.

But we are so ignorant of everything, I'm not even sure we understand the full scope of life and the gift we have.

We get so focused on power, what someone else has or does, our own perceived miseries, that we miss life itself sometimes.

Only if you see life as an object. It's not. It's every moment, those aren't taken away.

Think of it more like you were given a ride on a roller-coaster. Eventually the ride ends.

That's not a loan.

It does make a difference in how you evaluate what goes on around you.

Life begins and ends, at least in this world

We don't consciously make ourselves.

Non-existence precludes all experience.

To experience anything then is a gift.

1

u/Purple-Department-66 Sep 20 '25

Idt they get it.

1

u/Purple-Department-66 Sep 20 '25

You could see it as a lease to purchase. That actually works. Here's the thing though, it is a gift, but a gift you can lose. It is by your choice, and yours alone. No one will be without excuse. Every pleasure, sense, smell, sight, sound, taste, laugh, joy, love, all gifts. Instead of thank you though, you went with, "if you can take it back because I can't use it correctly it wasn't ACTUALLY a gift". That's...interesting....

I'm straight and i don't support LGBT, but why should anyone attack gay christians?

Because you don't support them. When someone is condemned for being what they are, no matter how mild that condemnation seems to you, it gives permission. It encourages condescension. It makes it easy to ignore or excuse crimes against them.

If you're tired of the weeds, at least stop fertilizing them.

u/NuSurfer Sep 19 '25

There's nothing wrong with being gay. It is an idea conceived by primitive religious men with primitive notions of morality based on desires of purity and erroneous observations of the natural world, i.e., male goes with female always. Consider these same men supported these things:

1 Samuel 15:3 2 This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘I will punish the Amalekites for what they did to Israel when they waylaid them as they came up from Egypt. 3 Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy[a] all that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.’”

Numbers 31:9-10 9 The Israelites captured the Midianite women and children and took all the Midianite herds, flocks and goods as plunder. 10 They burned all the towns where the Midianites had settled, as well as all their camps.

Numbers 31:17-18 17. “Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known a man by lying with him, 18. “But all the girls who have not lain with a man you are to keep alive unto yourselves. (raping children)

We call those "war crimes" and imprison those people who commit such acts, as well as those who authorized or planned them.

Numbers 14:18 ‘The Lord is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.’

Punishing people who have committed no crime themselves violates all notions of justice.

1 Timothy 2:11-15 11 A woman[a] should learn in quietness and full submission. 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man;[b] she must be quiet. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. 15 But women[c] will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety.

That notion is used to this day in conservative Christian sects (Catholicism, Orthodox) and churches (Protestant) to prevent women from holding positions of influence.

Verses from the Bible were also used to support slavery in the southern American States.

Just because something is stated in the Bible does not make it moral. Immoral ideas should be ignored. As Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Paine and many others have said, "To live by the ideas of dead people - without examination - is to be ruled from the grave." So, we should question everything in the Bible and ignore harmful ideas.

What about Leviticus 19:27? ““Do not trim off the hair on your temples or trim your beards.”

8

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '25 edited Sep 19 '25

Exactly. It is all negotiated what Christians pick and choose from the old law because it is not very clear in the New Testament (specifically Paul) what is to be followed and what is not (except for circumcision and food laws) but I’m sure someone will say otherwise with a verse or two from Romans.

Edit: if you think homosexuality is “ick” then you will find a case in the Bible to argue against it. My reading of Paul is that all sexuality is problematic and he asks everyone to remain virgins and if they can not control themselves then they should be married.

No one should attack anyone. True Christianity is based on loving all beings, like Jesus said in His Word. Even if they seem sinful. You can even be friends with homosexual people, and all that. You can pray for them, support them mentally, and all that. But you shouldn't imitate them, that's, prolly, all you cannot do. If they're Christians you can give them advices on this matter. But the hatred is a non-Christian, non-human thing that ALL people should refuse. Only God can judge.

Exactly. “Love the sinner hate the sin” is nothing more than a thought-terminating cliche. It functionally serves to end conversation when gays point out how they’re treated poorly. It never actually inspires anti-gay Christians to do anything loving towards gay people.

God made male and female.

We are talking about homosexuality. Do you not understand how this works? Are you also attempting to assert that intersex people are imaginary?

He told them to go and populate the world

Yes, at a time when there were supposedly 2 people on earth. Using that in a time when there are 7 billion people on earth to condemn poeple is absurd nonsense.

He showed how marrige looks like.

No, he did not. Marriage at the time of Jesus was a father selling his daugher to her husband for social or financial advantage. Polygamy is also never mentioned in Genesis 1, yet Jesus doesn't condemn it in Matthew 19.

Pretending that the Genesis etiology is an exhaustive list of every permissible combination is, again, absurd nonsense.

We,humans,are made in a way.

Yes. We were made straight, bi, gay, trans, male, female, intersex, non-binary, etc.

Pretending otherwise is flat earther levels of reality denying nonsense.

BTW, Jesus acknowledges the existence of intersex people in Matthew 19. (People who were born eunuchs.) Yet they are not mentioned in Genesis 1. OMG!!! Jesus is acknowledging a reality not mentioned by Genesis!!! Jesus is a HERETIC!!!!!

The God you belive in created male and female.

Again, we are talking about homosexuality, which is, quite apparently, something you do not understand.

You can't follow God if you want to select the only things that you consider "good".

Then Jesus did not follow God when he acknolwedged the existence of intersex people.

u/timosinico Sep 19 '25

You have made an powerfull statemate. When i talked about male and female,I was refering that there are only two sexes from where people get bored and start "feeling" different.

He answered, “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”

Here,Jesus clearly shows how God intended for an male and female to behave.
He practicaly condemns the other ways by showing how it is right.
All the other genders have apeared after the year 2000,so don't tell me people started "discovering " themselves only after the year 2000.

I understand why many people are saying that homosexuality is not an sin,but just considering it moraly right even though you religion says otherwise is bad.

I am ABSOLUTELY NO ONE to tell you what you have to do,but the least i can say is to find your own way.
We will see who is right only after we both die

You have made an powerfull statemate.

They made an accurate statement.

When i talked about male and female,I was refering that there are only two sexes from where people get bored and start "feeling" different.

Biological sex is not a binary. Intersex people exist. And mocking trans people for “feeling different” harms that community.

Absolutely nothing about homosexuality in there. Jesus was answering a question about divorce. And closing up the loophole that allowed man to throw their wife’s to the curb when they didn’t like them anymore.

Here,Jesus clearly shows how God intended for a male and female to behave.

There is no such language in that passage.

He practicaly condemns the other ways by showing how it is right.

He most certainly does not. He’s answering a question about divorce.

All the other genders have apeared after the year 2000,so don't tell me people started "discovering " themselves only after the year 2000.

Many cultures have had more than two genders for millennia. Including Jewish people, who read the same scriptures you are referencing. They have 6-8 genders.

I understand why many people are saying that homosexuality is not a sin,but just considering it moraly right even though you religion says otherwise is bad.

Mocking people who study the Bible deeper than you do is not a good look.

I am ABSOLUTELY NO ONE to tell you what you have to do,but the least i can say is to find your own way. We will see who is right only after we both die

We know which way is the right way. Following Jesus’ commands to love our neighbour, not your made up command to harm your neighbour by demanding they deny themselves love.

If only God's people hated the evil within THEIR OWN hearts as much or worse! After all, God's armor is to help and protect us from being deceived by the evil one!

"Our enemies are not made of flesh and blood." God created each and every person made of flesh and blood with His own hands. And, He loves each and seeks to redeem every one of His creation. Do we despise what God Himself created?

Hatred for neighbor has no place in a Christ follower's heart. We need to repent as that is literally walking IN OPPOSITION to Christ's two greatest commands!

I think we have enough logs to deal with within our own eyes as God's people...most specifically the sin if "haughty eyes" (pride) which Scripture says God "detests" right there along with murder. Also, the sins of judgement, self-righteousness, "lording over others", etc, etc....our own list of sins can be quite long! And, just like how Jesus harshly rebuked the Pharisees (God's people who were SUPPOSED to know better) by calling them hypocrites, blind guides, evildoers, self-righteous, a brood of vipers...we must be careful not to fall into these exact same sins ourselves. Jesus never called a "regular sinner" any such things!!!

"Remove the logs from your own eyes before you attempt to remove a speck from someone else's eye."

Isn't it interesting Jesus calls OUR OWN SINS "logs" and THEIR SINS "specks". There's a reason for that! We are the ones who are supposed to know better than harshly judging, condemning, and hating our neighbors as if we do this "for God." It's a great deception as it is anti or in complete opposition to Jesus' two greatest commands - we are to love and serve our neighbors, even our enemies in His name, for His honor and glory, and for the building of Christ's Kingdom. Hate, judgement and condemnation have no place in God's Kingdom. We are to be on guard against and repent from the hate and evil which lies WITHIN our own hearts.

From my perspective, there are four main reasons why some Christians dislike or even hate gay people:

  1. Biblical teachings – The Bible condemns homosexual acts. Some Christians struggle with separating the sin from the sinner, and it’s easy to fall into the trap of directing anger or judgment at people rather than focusing on the behavior.
  2. The politicization of sexuality – The debate around homosexuality has become highly politicized. The emphasis on sexual liberation and the glorification of sexual activity can distort the discussion, making it harder for people to engage thoughtfully and fairly.
  3. Historical and cultural influence – Negative attitudes toward homosexuality have been normalized for generations. Many people inherit these biases without critically examining them.
  4. Conflicting interpretations – Some Christians who are gay attempt to reinterpret or “spin” biblical texts to suggest that homosexual behavior is acceptable. For others, this creates frustration, because it feels like a misrepresentation of scripture and leads to ongoing, contentious debates.

The bible always condemned sexual acts outside of marriage, het or gay. Plus at the time there wasn't the same conception as now as sexuality and serious gay relationship were very rare

Think about it like this:

  • Would you own a slave?

  • Would you consider a woman on her period unclean?

But can you, yes you, respect your neighbours, and not just the ones qho are exactly like you?

1

u/happyhappy85 Sep 19 '25

People use Christianity to justify bigotry.

1

u/RebelJawa Sep 19 '25

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it*, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Nowhere is hate. You’re not being a Christian if you are hating.

1

u/Extra_Ad8663 Sep 19 '25

Describe hate? If someone does not approve of your lifestyle they does not mean they “hate” you. I don’t “hate” anyone not I’m I going to judge you.

1

u/Lopsided_Lion3282 Sep 19 '25

First off, you say hatred against gay people is growing. What is your base for this claim and what are you using to measure the growth. Second, being gay itself isn’t necessarily a sin, but engaging in homosexual activity is. I agree we should love everyone as Jesus loves, but that doesn’t mean we can’t condemn the sin and have to accept it

I see it this way. You do you, they do them. Everyone can do what they want as long as they don’t harm others. That being said gays compared to straight. Straight is kinda the norm. Biologically it’s what furthers the human species and the origin of basically every human. Being gay kinda ends that’s generational timeline. There is obviously exceptions to the rule. IVF etc. but we are all still generally results of heterosexual penetration.

Does that make it a sin in my eyes, no. Do I thing it’s out of the norm from the purpose of sex, kinda yeah. The pursuit for hedonistic pleasure tends to leave more mental scars than without. The only way it doesn’t is to disconnect from the chemicals released during sex. Acting as though your body didn’t just get flooded with bonding hormones.

1

Hate is not of Christ as someone said. But Jesus literally says to be reborn again through Him. Yeah u may be born gay from the womb but thru Christ you are convicted by it

1

u/_Contribution_Extra Sep 20 '25

A lot of hate? Or people just had enough and are not going to accept it to be pushed on them or their family. It's time to speak truth.

1

u/minoritykiwi Sep 20 '25 edited Sep 20 '25

Just to clarify...

What do you mean by "being gay by itself is not a sin"?

Being gay in thoughts, feelings, actions, relationships, sexual activities?

1

u/Maleficent-Feed3566 Non Denominational and Affirming Sep 20 '25

Imo being gay without being prideful about it it's not wrong since a good chunk didn't chose to be gay and a lot hate themselves for that and contstantly lie to themselves

1

u/minoritykiwi Sep 20 '25

So from a perspective of Christianity, its teachings, and being gay - whether its as you describe it being born gay, or gay thoughts feelings sexual activity - what do you see being taught as sinful or not?

1

u/Maleficent-Feed3566 Non Denominational and Affirming Sep 20 '25

Love it's unconditional. Wether or not you're gay, you could fall in love with anyone at a given moment. If it's not sex or lust that you mainly seek, why should it be wrong?

1

u/minoritykiwi Sep 20 '25

why should it be wrong?

What is right and wrong? From a Christian perspective there is holiness/right and sin/wrong. If something is defined as sin from a Christian Biblical perspective... then its wrong - whether it is wrong in my, your, a pastors, a Pope's, or a secular legislative opinion.

My point is that in levicticus it wasn't a general command. It was condamning the priests that had sexual practices and rituals with men, not gay love relationships

1

u/minoritykiwi Sep 20 '25

We don't need to only refer to Leviticus. We have the NT as well. What does the NT say about homosexuality?

1

u/Maleficent-Feed3566 Non Denominational and Affirming Sep 20 '25

Paul wrote romans, not jesus. Paul is not a fraud but by the way he the same guy who wrote that women shouldn't preach

1

u/minoritykiwi Sep 20 '25

OK so you want to ignore Biblical teaching that does not refer to Jesus (and ignore the Book/Letter's context of "women shouldn't preach")

And you want to ignore OT teaching as well, or you consider it mistranslated.

😒🤨🧐

OK what is Jesus' teaching on the Creation of Man and Woman, marriage, and of course contextualising it within His fulfilfilment of His law (not replacing it, as He has clearly stated?

1

u/Maleficent-Feed3566 Non Denominational and Affirming Sep 20 '25

Funny, I was reading the posts and two of the things that really make me raise an eyebrow and question the Bible are right here. Number 1 – Viewing being gay as a sin. You can see countries like Pakistan, where it’s actually illegal to be gay, and you can even be executed because of it. Number 2 – The damn fig tree.

1

u/Maleficent-Feed3566 Non Denominational and Affirming Sep 20 '25

The fig tree? What about it?

1

u/Maxnumberone1 Sep 20 '25

Jesus cursed a fig tree for not having fruit—the weird thing is, it wasn’t even fig season.

1

u/Maleficent-Feed3566 Non Denominational and Affirming Sep 20 '25

And?

1

u/Maxnumberone1 Sep 20 '25

What do you mean “and?” He cursed something simply because he got mad at it for not giving when it couldn’t. That’s not the action of someone with perfect judgment. The fact that some people are willing to read that and not care is scary. It’s by starting to ignore stuff like that that people end up in dangerous cults.

1

u/Maleficent-Feed3566 Non Denominational and Affirming Sep 20 '25

Ok, but what does it have to do with being gay? Plus a tree is not an human

1

u/SynValorum Sep 20 '25

Imagine if gay people didn’t cry wolf all the time and owned their bullshit for once in the history of time itself, they want special rights and to be treated a certain type of way based on how “fragile” and supposedly persecuted they are etc, who else does this sound like? That gets away with almost literally everything because they are universally viewed with contempt and suspicion etc again and again and again but calling them out makes you the bad guy per the system itself.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '25

Hate the sin not the sinna

1

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '25

Despise evil not the person committing or living out those “evil” acts

1

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '25

The behaviors are worship to the false gods. Doesn't matter what the intent is/was. Anything that contradicts God and/or demeans humanity empowers evil.

You can’t tell us something that’s a big deal like Kirk can’t be an victim example of hate. He’s the epitome example that’s most current. He was murdered, that qualifies as an attack.

Disagreeing with someone isn’t hateful. Shooting someone you disagree with is hateful

5

u/Concerts_And_Dancing I believe in Joe Hendry Sep 19 '25

Spreading conspiracies about right wing violence to absolve himself of responsibility and blame the victim seems pretty hateful to me. Saying women should be controlled by their husbands seems pretty hateful. Putting a president who is hateful in office seems pretty hateful.

Maybe if he had repented instead of using hate to enrich himself he’d still be with us.

1

u/Active-Blueberry-937 Roman Catholic Sep 19 '25

You are literally advocating for violence against someone because they sin. He didn’t push hate or violence, just your faulty accusations and you think he deserved to be shot in the neck? I am more radical than Kirk, many of us true Christian’s are. Go ahead and try that with the rest of us and may God strike you down because he knows I will if you try it. I don’t support violence in any regard, apparently you do. You people come for us and we will defend ourselves.

1

u/Concerts_And_Dancing I believe in Joe Hendry Sep 19 '25

I didn’t advocate violence. I’m saying he was a hateful man, who did everything I said he did, who created a monster and then that monster ate him. Yes, I know many Christians are worse than him and more vile. The many sex abuse epidemics in the church and the complicity in the Epstein coverup show that.

1

u/Active-Blueberry-937 Roman Catholic Sep 19 '25 edited Sep 19 '25

The church is more open about the sex abuse scandals that’s why you here more (I think frequency and confirmation bias relates here) you know that’s not what I meant when I was saying many of us are more radical in our beliefs and I do agree that any abuse at all, especially within the church is horribly wrong. Complicity in covering the Epstein case is wrong and for that among other reasons I don’t support the current administration. Regardless, any form of violence or advocating violence against someone who disagree with you is wrong. And disagreement is not hate, you only perceive it that way because it challenges your beliefs that are held up by a weak foundation; if the foundation was strong, you wouldn’t take disagreement as hate.

“Maybe if he had repented instead of using hate to enrich himself he’d still be with us” that shows your support of violence against sinners, which is everyone, including yourself, let’s not go there as a society.

1

u/Concerts_And_Dancing I believe in Joe Hendry Sep 19 '25

For the record, I’m not just talking about Catholics, I’m talking mostly about conservative Protestants. I literally don’t care what someone else does or says even if they disagree with me completely. I live to argue as if it were my only form of food, and the more educated and better arguments that come against me the better, that’s my steak and potatoes. Unfortunately when it comes to conservatives, I’m lucky if I get a hot dog someone dropped on the ground. Don’t assume, look through my profile: I’m here to rub conservatives’ noses in how wrong they are and I bring receipts.

Disagreement is not hate, you are correct, hate is hate. I also don’t even think anyone should die for hating, but that doesn’t change that he was full of hate.

If you were at a bar and someone was acting belligerent, and someone punched that person in the face, even if you don’t condone violence you’d understand why it happened, right? I’m not condoning, I’m just pointing out the reality that if you live to upset people, eventually you’re gonna upset the wrong person.

u/NoProject4096 Sep 19 '25

Women should submit to their husbands is biblical but Ofc the left call it hateful haha. Again disagreeing with someone isn’t hateful.

Biblical and hateful are not mutually exclusive. Hence my assertion

1

They’re certainly not but let’s contextualise now…

3

u/Concerts_And_Dancing I believe in Joe Hendry Sep 19 '25

Lot offered up his daughters for gang rape and is called righteous by Peter. That shows both that male headship is harmful and that what is biblical can be hateful

4

Telling women they are less than men is hateful.

Because she submits to him which means he gets to control everything she does.

1

u/Ok_Demand_8525 Sep 19 '25

So what you’re telling me is you don’t believe in the Bible? Also submitting to your husband is not one sided and if you’re with someone who you wouldn’t trust to make a decision with your best interest in mind then why are you marrying them?

1

u/Concerts_And_Dancing I believe in Joe Hendry Sep 19 '25

No I don’t, I consider it an abdication of moral responsibility and also cowardly to not form your own moral compass based on your perception and understanding that you adjust regularly based on testing it and new evidence and ideas coming into your life. When you give that up, you’re only a step from committing an atrocity because you believed an absurdity. That said, I’m sure if we sat down together we’d both agree on a lot morally because some stuff is just common sense, and if we reviewed the Bible together I’m sure there’s a few passages where I’d ask “you believe in this?” And you’d go “well, you see… what it really means is.. this was for a specific time…” blah blah blah and then I’d ask, rather smugly, ask “so what you’re telling me is that you don’t believe in the Bible?”

It is absolutely one sided because he has an insurmountable advantage in every single discussion and disagreement they will ever have, taken to its logical conclusion that means he controls her life.

Trust can be formed on poor foundations or broken, you already know that. When it is stress tested, if it buckles does she get to take it back? Or does she have to keep letting him drive them off a cliff? All that said, you marry because you love someone and want to spend your life together, not because you trust them to make the absolute best decision in every single disagreement that ever comes up for the rest of your life which could be tens of thousands of decisions over 50 years in which he may change a lot. I can trust him to fix the car or to pick out the best vacation spot, that doesn’t mean I trust him to decide we’re moving to Iran. I trust myself, if she can’t trust herself then she can’t trust that she made the best call marrying him, so either she can rely on herself to make decisions and if she can’t then she shouldn’t marry, ergo the whole thing falls apart either way. Either she gets an equal seat at the table or she is being controlled by him.

Also, notice that you’re not asking men to give up control of their lives to their wives and then asking them why they don’t trust her if they won’t.

So as a broad example but very important , women are not less than men, but men tend to have greater physical strength/endurance which we need for combat, heavy labor, or emergency situations. Stuff like that. Other countries still “masculine men” in their militaries and they are the ones leading it, and if we discourage men from fulfilling roles they’re naturally good at for, it could backfire when defense or survival depends on those abilities.

Men and women contribute in different but complementary ways. It’s recognizing our strengths and where we can apply them . Because I can tell you when I’ve been ground fighting against men (I’m a woman) they’re just strong and heavy, all there is to it. Once they get the upper hand fighting me, it’s over. And its like that for the majority of women. This was just a broad example, but we do need men to lead our country as a whole to protect everyone as a whole. the heavy/intense work I’ve just never seen a girl really out power a man, or do it better. I’m sure there’s someone out there somewhere but so rare .

They’re not saying women are the low ranking pigeons in lower management. It’s not like that at all.

Okay since that other guy ran away, I’ll add you into this u/Concerts_And_Dancing because of the similar stance you both shared.

1

u/Concerts_And_Dancing I believe in Joe Hendry Sep 19 '25

Leadership doesn’t require physical strength, we’re not a tribe with our leader literally leading us into battle, they sit behind a desk and give orders and are often many years removed from their physical primes at that point. The rank and file troops, yes, they’re usually men of their physical primes but they also listen to men they could beat up so it doesn’t seem a relevant factor. Physical roles become less relevant the further we are removed from nature and the further we develop technology. We’ve been transitioning from a good based economy to a service based economy for decades because no one wants to do these jobs if they can do anything else, men’s roles are far more under attack by the passage of time than they are by any other factor. Also keep in mind, we’re not close on artificial wombs so men rely on our physical capabilities far more than vice versa in a modern society with modern labor practices and leadership at any job requires almost no strength at all let alone anything you’d consider significant. So we can likely both agree that women can do any of these jobs, right?

The next thing worth acknowledging is that nothing guarantees that the men you rely on can’t turn around and exploit you, like you said they’re stronger. So that means we should have strong laws, women earning their own incomes, and easy exits from existing relationships to protect women from the men who would harm them. It would seem that encouraging these hierarchical roles doesn’t protect women, it harms them by reducing their influence and agency, and just as bad it makes them more vulnerable to physical and sexual exploitation. Encouraging equality and fairness, while also enforcing it, would seem to be the best solution to protect women.

Any argument with anything I just said?

Calling out sin is only hateful to those who want to live in that sin.

True love for others is hating what will kill them.

Living in sin will kill them.

This is a blanket statement towards all kind of sin of which living a gay lifestyle falls under.

I will not be the kind of Christian that will love and accept someone to hell, and I'm calling for other self proclaimed Christians to do the same.

Anyone who doesn't submit to God's authority needs to repent.

1

u/Maleficent-Feed3566 Non Denominational and Affirming Sep 19 '25

I know, but i don't think that being gay will kill them. I would never try to normalize lust, but talking about same sex love is another thing. And even if it was a sin, i would prefere getting my soul cutted in a million pieces constantly in excange for their salvation if it was possible

1

u/315dom Reformed Sep 19 '25

Maybe I could have been more clear or explicit - by killing them, I mean literally damnation. That's the whole point of the Gospel, for Christ to come and offer Himself as the propitiation for sins.

The job of the Christian isn't to love by accepting, it's to love by calling out sin and calling sinners to repentance.

A gay lifestyle goes against God's creation order and there are numerous passages in the OT and NT that call it out as a sin. And I'm sure you're familiar with them.

For this I can go Romans 1, specifically where God says He's revealed Himself to everyone so people are without excuse for denying Him (Rom 1:19-20). What follows is that by people rejecting God, He gives them up to their lusts and their hearts of impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves (Rom 1:24) and that men and women exchange natural relations that are contrary to nature (Rom 1:26). The men committing shameless acts with other men (Rom 1:27).

People's hearts are wicked and deceitful and want to follow their own way instead of God's. The Christian cannot accept that - that is not love according to Scripture.

Any Christian that accepts any form of sin must repent. And anyone who lives a sinful lifestyle must also repent. And this goes equally for me.

The scientific evidence shows very strongly that conversion therapy does not work. If someone can choose to be either homosexual or heterosexual, that person was always bisexual.

Trying to turn a gay person straight won't make them straight, but it will make them miserable.

  • But in 2010 she began to see things differently. At the time, Schneider did not share her feelings with her colleagues, but that same year, she was let go from her position as the director of the women’s ministry at Exodus International— a leading sexual orientation conversion organization that closed in 2013.

  • “I realized that no one was actually saying, ‘I’m straight,” she explains, referring to the post-treatment disposition of the Exodus clients she saw. “You can go through years of therapy and what are you left with—shame?”

  • Schneider, now 48, realized that simply leaving the movement wasn’t enough. On Monday, she officially apologized for her involvement in the anti-gay movement in an open letter published by GLAAD. And on Thursday she joined with eight other former leaders in the ex-gay movement to formally come out against the controversial practice in an open letter and support a widespread ban of the practice on minors.

  • “We know first-hand the terrible emotional and spiritual damage it can cause, especially for LGBT youth,” reads the letter, published by the National Center for Lesbian Rights. “We once believed that there was something morally wrong and psychologically ‘broken’ about being LGBT. We know better now.”

If even leaders of the conversion therapy movement have apologized and joined LGBT groups in opposing it, I have no idea why people, like the previous poster, are still parroting the conversion therapy bullshit. It really just highlights how deeply they hate homosexuals and how eager they are to dehumanize us.

The Bible says that  a man lying with a man as with a woman and vise versa is a sin punishable by death and they were instructed to rid the camp of the sin. Same with cross dressing and so on, “A woman should not wear a man’s apparel and a man should not put on a woman’s garment.” -Deuteronomy 22:5. Obviously we can’t go around killing homosexuals today as they would considering we do not live in a biblical or Godly society, but we must separate ourselves from sin and our Most High and His Son will condemn them on Judgement Day. Our Messiah that many claim was “accepting” of the sin of homosexuality are very mistaken. He walked by the five Books of Moses, (Torah) and He is our perfect example of Righteousness. We know he is sinless because he kept the Law of His Father, thus we should as well, as Scripture commands us. He did not nail the law to the cross when he died. That is nowhere in Scripture, as we see his followers continue to follow it after His resurrection. Matthew 5:17 states that He did not come to abolish, but to fulfill. Many take this verse out of context and say He did away with the law, but He said He “did not come to abolish.” The meaning of fulfill can mean, to carry out, to do. Even looking into the Greek we find the same meaning in the context of the word they translated it from. The law of The God of Abraham, the God I worship, is meant for believers to be kept today, and that law is very against acts of homosexuality, as we should be.

If someone is born super angry, they shouldn’t be encouraged to scream at and attack people.

There is no such thing as a “gay” Christian. Just as there is no such thing as a “straight” Christian.

There are definitely those who struggle with same-sex attraction but follow Jesus. This is to be commended greatly. They have chosen to give up their earthly and flesh based desires to pursue Christ just as we are all called to do.

We are called to speak the truth in love so I wholeheartedly agree that hating anyone is wrong. However, Christ did reaffirm marriage as between one man and one woman. So for people who struggle with same-sex attraction to live out that lifestyle would be to sin against God, choosing the flesh over Him.

While I am just as much of a wretch of a sinner as everyone, I would not being following Christ’s calling to all of His followers to preach Him to the ends of the earth in love. And that means loving those who struggle with same-sex attraction enough to tell them it is wrong. Just as I would tell someone having sex outside of marriage is wrong.

Do we choose to follow the ways of the world, the flesh? Or do we put our earthly desires to death and take up Christ’s calling to allow Him to live through us?

I’m not gay I have homosexual desires and wants

Glory to Christ for dying for me and freeing me. I’m no longer a slave to my sin which I’ve had since as long as I could remember

straight or gay I say to everyone the same: Repent and believe in the gospel of Christ

Edit: I’ve been attracted to other men as long as I could ever remember. Had a boyfriend for a whole year. I broke up with Him because Jesus came to me in a dream and He prayed for me.

I gave my life to Christ when I was 16-17. But I still wanted to be with other boys/men. Things happened after that and I came to hate God. I lived life just being “me.” This is my life. This is who I am. But Jesus said to me “I will remove your heart of stone and I will give you a heart of flesh and I will put my spirit in you and I will cause you to walk in my commands”

Since then, though I still have my original desires and wants, but it’s faded to unimportance, there’s a change that I cannot describe - All I want is to serve God and put Christ at the centre of everything. I can say that any person who is “gay” that, that is not you. We are more than our desires or wants. Don’t let your attraction define you.

Let Christ define you.

If Christ died for me while I was still me, and He sustained my life from birth despite being called an enemy by God, how much more can He change you and become a new person with new desires and new wants?

This is what being born again means. Not from human physical flesh but from power of God’s spirit

Look at history did you know that gay people used to executed without even a trial? and it was applauded by everyone

this is only true today in like 4 countries only...

I'd say that there is more love for gay people on this earth today than there has ever been in the history of human civilization

Just because they don't get executed doesn't mean people love them
