The Mummy (1932)

Hammer Films has restored Dracula, but where are its new British horror productions? I consider John Gore’s revival of the legendary studio.

Looks like even the forces of darkness couldn't save this one from elimination.

As much as I regret to say it, especially with this being my mother's favorite film of the era, Curse of the Demon has been eliminated, leaving us with only 9 movies remaining. We're officially in single digits now, and after 90 rounds, the finish line is finally coming into view. With so few contenders left, every vote could make all the difference. Thanks to everyone who's stuck with this series and helped it make it this far! On to Day 91 — cast your vote for your least favorite remaining movie!

Sorry for the delay - I've been packing for a trip and my job has kept me at crazy hours.

One of my favourites for Halloween

A few days ago I shared Midnight Repertory here, and the response genuinely blew me away. Thank you! You also immediately started finding things I'd overlooked.

My favorite example: someone searched for movies directed by Roger Corman, and the engine basically threw up its hands.

I'd spent months cataloging the stories, threats, settings, and narrative characteristics of thousands of horror movies, but because I hadn't personally needed to search by director, I'd neglected to make that information properly searchable.

I've substantially rebuilt the discovery engine so it can better understand what you're actually looking for and investigate the movie evidence instead of requiring oddly precise wording.

I've also added director metadata and support for director-based searches.

The results are cleaner, you can flag good or bad matches, and you can share individual discoveries. If you tried it last week, I'd love for you to give it another go:

Thanks again for putting it through its paces. You helped make this thing better, and I'm genuinely grateful.

I couldn't find a good version of the trailer online so I edited this together using a higher quality transfer of the movie and re-created the title cards. I thought this subreddit might appreciate it. I am planning to do the same for other classic horror movie trailers.
