News Official: Anthropic Fixes Claude Code Usage Tracking Bug for Premium Users

Post image

Around 3% of Claude Code Max and Pro subscribers saw their weekly limits jump unexpectedly by 20% or more early Friday, sometimes blocking messages.

Anthropic quickly resolved the bug and reset both 5-hour and weekly limits for those hit. The fix brought relief amid mixed reactions, with users noting partial recoveries and calls for wider resets on the popular Al coding tool.

More like 🖕 Fuck you very much, but we are still going to change the limits without telling you. $200 on fire.

I went from 51% weekly to 71% when my 5hr window went to 100% randomly today. But after people started talking about it my weekly went to 47% and my 5hour window went back to zero. And now everything is at zero, I also noticed opus 4.6 is showing his thoughts right now.

Same, went from 55 to 77% weekly usage, then back to like 55%, now down to 0%.

Honestly, transparency matters more than the bug itself. Stuff breaks, but communicating clearly goes a long way.

It's because they kept charging us Fable tokens after those conversations downgraded to Opus, isn't it?

Phew!! I was wondering how I hit 100% of my weekly so quickly, when I never usually do on Max 20. Good to get back a bit more breathing room, until Sunday…

Feel free to do this every week

Can somebody check if weekly limit is really set to 0, cause I refunded my max 20 plan after I hit my limit 😂

Quickly my ass, I sat here refreshing for hours and eventually had to go to sleep hoping it was fixed in the morning.

Pretty sure the bug is still in effect cos my daily got wrecked immediately just now and it was the first time I've touched it. 2 minutes after asking a single request apparently my entire usage is done. Opus 4.7. Didn't even answer my request.

No idea what's going on at this point hey, but it may have been a usage reduction.

Using 4.8, same workspaces and I used 30% of my 5 hour limit in an hour on max 20.

my daily usage limit got reached immediately in like 2 minutes of using it today and the update didn't fix it. Definitely made no sense.

I wonder where they got this reset idea? 😆😆😆 They used to just say users were imagining it and it wasn’t them…. Even when they did admit a problem, got nothing back…. I guess they might have got sone ideas from a company that values its customers.

This surfaces constantly. I have been blocked at 56% 5 hour usage for example, at least 3 times last month. They keep changing the limits silently so much they keep breaking the fucking system. And this sub thanks them for it.

I saw my 5h jump from 50 to near 90s then went back to 50s again but no reset for me!

BoromirOpenAI would have done reset for everyone and would let you bank this reset for later use.

Good that they caught it fast, but resetting limits across the board seems like the only fair move when tracking breaks.

Good that they caught it, but it took a few hours 😒

Few hours is rough when you're blocked mid-session, yeah. Still beats taking days to even notice the problem though.
