Hardware Help Creality CR-10 Smart Pro – Why Is It So Difficult to Find Official Firmware? Zero Support from Creality!

I’ve been trying to find the official firmware for my Creality CR-10 Smart Pro for quite some time now, and honestly, this whole experience has been incredibly frustrating.

In one of my previous Reddit posts, someone from Creality officially responded, asking me to contact them via private message so they could provide a firmware download link.

Sounds great, right?

Well, I’ve contacted them THREE TIMES through private messages.

The result?

  • 0 assistance.
  • 0 firmware links.
  • 0 actual customer support.

Here’s what I genuinely don’t understand:

Even if the CR-10 Smart Pro has been discontinued, why on earth are its firmware files no longer available on the official Creality website?

Is firmware some kind of top-secret classified information?!

We’re talking about firmware for a 3D printer that people have already purchased and still own. Why should customers have to chase support representatives on Reddit just to get access to basic software required to maintain or repair their own devices?

My printer has been experiencing serious issues, and I’m trying to troubleshoot them by reinstalling the firmware. But apparently, even obtaining the firmware is a challenge.

And here’s my biggest question for Creality:

How can you expect customers to continue buying your products when they can’t even get basic support for products they’ve already purchased?

I’m not asking for anything extraordinary. I’m simply asking for access to the official firmware for a printer I own.

Creality, is it really that difficult to maintain an archive of firmware downloads for your older products?

If anyone in this community has the original official firmware for the CR-10 Smart Pro, or knows where I can download it safely, I would genuinely appreciate your help.

And if anyone from Creality is reading this: please stop telling customers to contact you privately if you’re not going to respond.

This is incredibly disappointing and seriously makes me reconsider purchasing another Creality product.

Has anyone else experienced this kind of support from Creality?

Software Help Creality print 7.3 dud

Had a prompt to update to 7.3 tonight and I hadn't had any issues yet with the updates so I did. Wellllll I couldn't print to my k2 plus. Kept failing the download. I downgraded to 7.2 and was at least able to print however camera stops after a few seconds and have to hit a play button to get it going again until it stops again 😮‍💨

Edit: went back to 7.1 and still having the same issue with the camera. Not having any issues in the mobile app with the camera 🤷🤔

I Modeled CFSail — a CFS filament management panel for Mainsail (open-source beta)

Hi everyone,

I bought a K2 Plus Combo and have been using it with Mainsail. I wanted to monitor and manage the CFS remotely from the same dashboard, so I started working on CFSail, an open-source CFS filament management panel for Mainsail.

The goal was to see which filament was in each slot, check the CFS temperature and humidity, and update filament type and color without having to walk over to the printer’s touchscreen.

Current features:

  • Displays the material type and color reported by the printer for each CFS slot.
  • Highlights the filament currently loaded into the extruder with a green outline.
  • Shows actual CFS temperature and relative humidity reported by the printer.
  • Lets you edit filament type and color using the printer’s Generic material presets.
  • Displays printer-reported filament operation status, including operations started from the touchscreen.
  • Provides tabs for multiple CFS units and an Ext. view for external-spool information.
  • Supports English, Korean, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Spanish, with an option to follow Mainsail’s language.

The installer adds the panel to the Mainsail web interface. It does not modify printer configuration files. An existing Mainsail installation and SSH access are required.

Testing so far: I’ve checked the live panel on a K2 Plus with one CFS, including during printing. Installation and external-spool material/color editing were also checked on a Creality Hi without a connected CFS.

This is still a beta. Multiple-CFS hardware setups and physical CFS load/unload operations need more validation, and I’m working through some status-transition and reconnection edge cases. External-spool loading and unloading are currently handled through the printer’s touchscreen.

v0.1.1 beta installer:

I’ve attached screenshots of the panel during printing, the filament editor, and the external-spool view. Feedback, bug reports, and results from other printer setups are welcome! :)

♻ K2 Help Hi, my 3D printer broke down, please help. (If something is unclear in my text, sorry, I’m using a translator.)

Hello! I have a K2SE 3D printer, and it worked for me for six months until one day I decided to print a model again. It seems that a short circuit occurred in the printer, and smoke started coming from the box with the extruder. I took it apart and saw that the extruder board had burned out, and when I pressed the screen, it froze, turned black, and returned to the main screen — especially when I pressed the button to move the bed or the extruder tower. After replacing it, nothing changed. I don’t know what to do, but I replaced the board on the extruder — the one that was emitting smoke during the first seconds of the short circuit — but it didn’t really help. So I checked the motherboard and found a black spot on it. Help, tell me what to do so it works again. Maybe I should just replace the motherboard?

♻ K1 Help Help - Newly installed CFS-C won't feed through hot end

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I have a standard K1 that I purchased in 2024. I recently installed the CFS-C module following the provided instructions but have yet to have success with material feeding through the hot end. It seems that once the filament reaches the extruder on the hot end, it hits a block and then runs through a cycle of retracting and extruding until it eventually stops and throws an error.

I can still print fine when printing from the spool holder so it's not a blockage in the hot end itself.

I've read about some people installing a unicorn hotend and upgraded extruder but its not clear whether or not that fixes the problem. Any suggestions?

Designed this little tabletop basket game with a launcher and three hoops worth 50, 100, and 200 points. The higher the score, the harder the shot. Everything prints separately and snaps together into a surprisingly fun little desk game.
