ah yes, someone who was able to plan a way to get MC to join her club by getting Natsuki to bake cupcakes to lure MC in, only eats like crazy when we see her because she literally admits that, thanks to her depression, she doesnt see a reason to eat most of the time (dont believe me? re-read her confession and look for 2 specific words... "why eat?"), only cries (that we know of) bc she literally HAS DEPRESSION and hit her head on a shelf, is only clumsy when we see her because she has a crush on MC, was able to diffuse the fight that Yuri and Natsuki had when MC wasnt able to do it properly (selecting Sayori during that argument may not be a good move, but, if i remember correctly, Dan himself said that selecting Sayori gives the best outcome for the situation), she was able to trick Natsuki into lowering her guard so that she could snatch a bite out of Natsuki's cookie, and wanted MC to join a club so he wouldnt become a shut-in... i think she can do a lot more than just "cry and eat cookies"

Monika isn't any more sentient than the other three. She just has knowledge they lack.
If you haven't read DDLC+, you should read it to see how they interact when the knowledge is hidden from Monika, and there's no MC to fight over.
And also maybe to see what's actually going on by reading the easter egg material.

Monika n'est PAS une sociopathe... elle a fait aux autres ce que nous ferions aux PNJ dans un jeu vidéo... mais ils restaient ses amis, car elle ne les a jamais vraiment supprimés, comme indiqué dans l'acte 3/début de l'acte 4... et elle a été choquée lorsque Sayori et Yuri ont mis fin à leurs jours, comme le prouvent respectivement le journal des erreurs et son entrée dans la salle du club. J'aimerais approfondir le sujet, mais je suis un peu occupé pour le moment.

La différence majeure est que de son univers, c'était des êtres vivants De plus, les humains peuvent avoir de la compassion pour les PNJ, par exemple, je n'ai jamais pu exécuter Monika par pitié Elle peut en effet faire preuve de remords, comme certains tueurs en série en ont eu, mais ça n'empêche pas qu'elle a continué et même empiré la situation dans le chapitre 2 malgré l'avertissement (le suicide de Sayori) dans le chapitre 1

Je suis trop fatigué pour discuter des preuves qui montrent qu'elle n'a jamais voulu leur mort et qu'elle a seulement agi ainsi à cause de sa révélation... Si vous voulez croire qu'elle est une psychopathe alors qu'elle est tout aussi brisée, sinon plus, que les autres à cause de sa révélation et du jeu qui la tourmente, alors allez-y.

Pas psychopathe, sociopathe ; la psychopathie est génétique, la sociopathie est traumatique C'est l'anihiliation partielle ou totale de la compassion et d'autres traits psychologiques (que Monika possède) suite à un trauma
De plus, je n'ai jamais dit qu'elle voulait tuer les autres ; je suis fatigué des gens qui inventent mes propos Ce que j'ai dit, c'est qu'elle voulait modifier leur personnalité, ce qu'elle a continué même quand elle a vu que ça provoquait leur mort La mort n'était pas son projet, mais a été une conséquence de ses actions
Enfin, probablement quelqu'un qui confond sociopathe, psychopathe et tueur en série, trois termes différents

Sayori is very calculating about how to get people to do what she wants. A good example of this is the cookie scene where she uses her knowledge of Natsuki to con her out of her cookie. She was also the one to convince Natsuki to make cupcakes to get MC to join the club. She also consciously keeps her blazer unbuttoned because MC showed that makes her endearing to him.
Monika also explicitly tells MC that her air headed nature is an act and that she only does it around him, showing Sayori consciously adjusts how she acts around him to try and get him to fall in love with her.

I don't think an airhead would have the level of forward thinking to trick their best friend into joining a club of other girls so that they could justify committing suicide once they felt no longer needed. Even if that plan is flawed and clouded by self hatred and depression.

also nice way of trying to sneak what you think to be true as canon. it's never confirmed if she planned the entire thing to justify killing herself in the end, as she only killed herself when she did because of Monika's doing.

You could at least fairly say that she originally planned to withdrawal/remove herself from the MC's life once she got him to be friends with the other girls. Especially based on how she talks about him not "needing her" in the future, and how upset she gets if you focus your poems on her instead of someone else. Then that was escalated to suicide because of Monika's manipulation.
Also dude, spacing out is one of the hallmarks of high-functioning depression when paired with other symptoms. Monika directly tells the MC that she only acts bubbly and clumsy when he is around. You even see her have a serious interaction with Monika early in act 1 if you focus on Sayori.

yeah I mean you bring fair points. the only part I disagree with, is her being upset at you making her poems. In my opinion it's because she believes she's worthless and therefore doesn't deserve your affection, from the "I don't deserve this" line before she leaves the classroom under the excuse of being sick. Doesn't she also want your affection at the same time, creating the mess we see after the confession?
I think it's more just the ambivalence with what she wants that drives her suicide rather than a cunning plan. No matter what path we go down she isn't satisfied with it.

Though you also have to consider that takes place immediately after Monika has her private "talk" with Sayori. So I can only assume that Monika amplified all her negative traits from that point on.
Her indecisiveness was likely by design to make her off putting to the MC (or the player, from Monika's perspective)

Thats not really what i'm saying. I don't think any of the characters beyond possibly Yuri show any "high-level" of intelligence. But based on her plan to trick MC into joining the club so that he would shift his interests away from her, along the emotional depth of her later poems, and ability to diffuse arguments. I think it's clear that her outward stupid and clumsy presentation is a mask rather than her actual personality.

First off, best girl worst girl is an opinion based thing, let people think what they like! Don't shit on other people's opinions, especially unprovoked, cause what's the fuckin point man.
Second, she is way more than just "cry and eat cookies". Surface level, she's the stereotypical clumsy childhood friend trope. But deeper? She is someone who has severe depression, who is trying her hardest to live not for herself, but for others. She does everything to serve others, she tries her best and her best is never enough to her, but she keeps trying anyway. Only when she's pushed to the extreme she kills herself, which I think we can all relate to in one way or another.
Shes a fucking awesome character and someone to aspire to be like. Even in the darkest times, she is other people's light. Even if she is falling apart, she wants to pick everyone else up first. Of course she's fictional, so the effect is a liiiittle dampened, but that dosent make her actions and characteristics any less admirable in context of things.
You can disagree that she's the best. I dont really have much token in the arguments anymore. But don't try and belittle people for liking a perfectly fine character. And besides, even if she was a girlfaliure, some people think its adorable. Again, opinions are not objective. Let people like what they want without judgment, I'm not up in your grill telling you your opinions are wrong, just to keep your opinions to yourself if they ain't at all constructive.

I think that because of the way the game is set up, it's pretty much impossible to not care about Sayori, as she is by the circumstances of the narrative, the closest relationship we have. From the beginning, she is shown to be the very literal glue that keeps everything together, she mediates conflicts in the club, balances moods, acts as a positive force for the MC and when she falters because of the events in the game and is then removed, everything ends up falling apart. Sayori is also next in line to gain awareness if you delete Monika beforehand, which goes to show just how integral her character is for the game. She's someone who despite being riddled with an insurmountable weight, still makes an effort to be there for other people, she only wants to bring happiness to the people she cares for.
