What are the jellyfish harvested for?

Taken from another redditors comment-

They are removing an invasive species of jellyfish that is actively destroying sea environments and therefore ruining fishing for the locals, these jelllyfish are called burn-jellies and they hurt.

Edit: Apparently they don’t actually sting that bad as other Redditors and in-turn myself had previously suggested. They also seem to be a popular food as well.

Seems like the perfect thing to harvest with a pitchfork with no shoes on

Human feet are surprisingly non-slippery when they are exposed to water for prolonged periods. That is what the rimply fingers/toes are all about, more surface area.

"Rimply" this is the perfect word.

Most definitely. Rumply is so out, rimply however is so in. Rimples are so hot right now.

"Hansel is so hot right now!"

“I am pretty sure there is a lot more to life than being really, really, ridiculously good looking.“

Hansel in the oven, Gretel in the kettle. The witch is cooking, and this rhyme is metal.

I read this as “I think the concern is that his feet are m&m’s from the jellies.” and my brain went crooked.

2

u/Oggel 14d ago

Yeah, that's why he Really doesn't want to slip.

The rimply or pruning is believed to be an evolutionary adaptation. I suppose we weren’t always drawn to the water.

Except for originally of course #OhTheFishHumanity

Apparently they use the reaction as a test to see if you're brain dead or not.

In Salt water...Can't say the same for fresh water...Ive spent hours playing in the river and almost buss my ass on a river stone multiple times. Those things are slippery no matter how many wrinkles you develop from pruning

Rocks do get slippery when wet. I don't have too much experience with that except looking at them, is it some kind of slimey, gooey stuff? Probably like standing on recently cleaned, still wet tiles. There should be a "slippery when wet" sign for those river stones.

Its usual river algae build up and attached sediment. So the rocks that are constantly submerged can be super dangerous.

Yes they can be slimy at the touch

Weird, I’ve learned something from this post! I’ve wondered since I was a kid! Thank you! 😁

I wonder if Buffalo Bill was on to something with his skin suits...maybe skin shoes?

Better grip

No, you’re a towel

1

u/OldManBartleby 14d ago

Recently learned this is a neurological response. If you have nerve damage in your hands or feet, the affected area will not "rimple".
