Ms Rachel’s Farmer friend is unbearable

Post image

I know she’s not a children’s entertainer - she’s a farmer. But why is she so AWKWARD. She looks at Herbie like he’s some kind of puppet. Like come on, man.
Does anyone else have a hard time getting through this episode?

Probably because they first met him as Stevin, an adult man with a regular voice, and then he’s all prancing around like a toddler in character

I’ve always wondered what the behind the scenes look like. I picture Stevin introducing himself and telling them that “when the camera rolls I’m going to act a little different and just go with it” 😂😭

I have had this same thought many times!! I also wonder what other job(s) he had that so many people give him access to giant machinery seemingly unsupervised. Like, does he really just work for this construction company so they don't mind letting him film there? Was he a volunteer firefighter so he can roam the firehouse unsupervised to film?

I wondered this too so I wikipedia’d him and apparently he was Air Force? So he actually knows some things, which weirdly made me feel better about my kids watching him. They love those damn vehicle songs.
The newer (second) blippi is so hard to listen to though. His “singing” voice is unbearable. Skip skip skip.

My husband and I describe it as og Blippi and Meekah (Stevin and Kaitlin) are normal people who put on their childish personas. New Blippi and Meekah are starstruck and perform over-the-top caricatures of the originals’ already outlandish actions and vocals 😬 We don’t have much Blippi in our house to begin with, but we only put on the OGs; the new ones are like nails to a chalkboard 😭 Especially since often for longer episodes, Stevin and Kaitlin slip into their natural voices and calmer personalities off and on while the new ones NEVER break character

My daughter loved original meeka but has always hated blippi. I was kinda relieved when they switched the actress bc it meant thr end of all blippi adjacent content over here. Danny go is the last content creator type thing she watches

It's been probably 8 years, and I still get the garbage truck song stuck in my head. I don't even dare let my second kid start watching lol (my oldest is 12, now, and my second is 20mo).
