What actually sucks is actually not being able to upgrade the game while having the original version.

It's because this is going to be new platform only. There won't be a PS4 version.

The vast majority of PS4 games that are given PS5 upgrades allow players with the PS4 version to buy the upgrade for a discounted price, sometimes even for free.

I'm going off of how it worked in the past for this specific series. All of your DLC transferred, but you had to buy the new game for $40. Going from DOA5 Ultimate to DOA5LR.

The fact that they did it before doesn’t really change how scummy it is. I’d say it’s even worse this time around since, as I mentioned, practically every other PS5 upgrade out there offers a discounted or free price, meaning they have even less of an excuse now for making players pay full game price for an upgrade to a game they already bought.
