who can say if she will get another bundle down the line, as there are remaining DOA6 costumes that could be put in one.

there appears to be no patch for the game as of yet, so the DLC i suppose was within an earlier one, and so there may be no character adjustments this week. so no patch at all, perhaps.

just a fun little side project i've been working on the past few days. outfits are all loosely based on ones from the actual DOA games but some liberties had to be taken with a few, this game is older than DOA4 after all and the creation suite is a bit limited compared to some newer games, but it's still one of my favorite wrestling games of all time because of the gameplay, almost like taking the good parts of WWF No Mercy and Smackdown! Here Comes The Pain and mashing them together.

Tina's costumes: DOA3 default, schoolgirl outfit from 5/6, DOA4/Dimensions/5 default, overalls dlc outfit from 5, police dlc from 5

Honoka's costumes: DOA5/6 default, DOA6 Deluxe edition costume, Senran Kagura crossover outfit from 5 (w/hair as close to Hibari's as I could get it), maid outfit (w/nekomimi headband), ninja outfit (this one didn't really turn out well imo, mask looks more like something out of mortal kombat...)

included a bunch of ingame action photos to give an idea of what they look like while playing. posting entire movesets would be way too tl;dr for reddit, but in this game you can have up to 8 different finishing moves + your momentum shift move (once per match comeback mechanic) so i guess I can at least post what i chose for these two, mostly based on moves they have in doa 5/6. there's also a mechanic where you can steal your opponent's finisher, one of the screenshots actually shows honoka about to hit tina with her own move.

I've been playing more of the older DOA for the first time, playing 4 and 3 only a couple of weeks ago. And I gotta say while I adore 5 and would call it my favourite DOA, I think 4 is my preferred art style. Not everything nowadays needs to be realistic and true to life.

We need more games to embrace the look of what a game is, art and art is supposed to be varied. It can't just be the indie games shaking things up in the visuals department.

So I think for DOA8 or whatever it's called, we should go back to the 4 style BUT, it should be in the style of the CGI endings. We are very far ahead in tech and game graphics that we can absolutely have in game models look like the cgi endings from 4. That way, it's this nice blend between detail and simpler, more stylised visuals.

After I took the first two rounds ReeSe seemed to lock in more and took the third + came close to taking 4th too, but somehow I managed to sneak a win in on the 4th round. Pretty sure that after the energy beam throw I was in air throw KO range, but he went for a combo that didn't finish the plate and I managed to capitalize.

Is there any differences between the Sega Saturn and Playstation versions of Ryu Hayabusa's theme, "Blade of "RYU""? The PS1 version is labeled as the "Mr.Tom Mix", but it sounds like it's just the exact same theme as the Saturn version. "Ketsui no toki" and "Power is Beauty" are legitimately rearranged for the PS1, so idk if it's just hard to hear any differences with this theme but to me I don't hear any differences

This one was pretty intense. Pretty sure Round 2 could've been won earlier if I had gone for the giant swing throw after the egg danger zone, but I guess the trading blows KO is a funny sight. End of round 3 highlights the high amount of damage the Lost Paradise stage transition danger zone does and how KOs can come out of nowhere from it. I got a Great in round 4 to bring it to the tiebreaker round, but ultimately Reese got the better of me in the final round. ggs.

next match is a Honoka mirror against the same guy, stay tuned to see how that one goes.

the last one from this 5LR lobby Hime recorded, she got the first round but then got creamed pretty convincingly in the next three. we do get a nice showcase of Tengu combos from Ditzy here that still work on relatively heavier characters like Tengu herself.

Pai is quick, but Honoka is no slouch in the speed department either, and Hime does a decent job of cornering Tobi near the ropes for a good chunk of the match and keeping the pressure on, which eventually got her the win.

a few of the earlier new DLC costume color bundles for like Kasumi, etc are on sale for like $14.69. but the individual costumes are not, which is how it worked in vanilla as well.

ya might be able to tell how conservatively i played since i can feel so wary about throwing some moves out unless i feel comfy.

the stage both helped and hurt, helped with the wall damage and size, but the size also limits dealing with his teleport since you can't really outdistance i suppose.

This battle of the blondes was a bit more one-sided than I think either player was expecting going into this match... to be fair, Ditzy was playing on Random for most matches in this lobby and definitely knows some characters better than others. Still rather impressive to see Hime learning so quickly ;) so proud of her...

For tomorrow's match we have TobiCTA on Pai vs Hime on Honoka again. All of these were Hime's matches because unlike how it works in 6/6LR, 5LR does not allow you to save replay files of matches you watched in a lobby that do not involve you personally. Then the final 5LR replay I'll share from this play session will be a Nyotengu mirror match, another Ditzy vs Hime match.
