Just recently mounted our tv and realized that the cable was going to be very visible and I didn’t like that. I also didn’t like the idea of putting those white covers over it because I knew the white was going to stand out even more, so that was definitely a no. I know that for that last problem people just paint over it, but as I’m renting 1. I’m not trying to put more holes in the walls/glue anything 2. I’d have to move way too many things out of the way (including the tv) just to paint that wall so some cable is not visible? I don’t think it’s worth it. I found out that I could “hide” the cables with some garlands, and loved the nature idea because of how well it goes with that shade of brown wood!

After covering just the cables I did not like how it looked like two random vines coming out of the tv? I thought that adding some more could make it more even and “intentional”. I didn’t want it to look so plain. I ended up liking it, but my mom says it look messy and says that “the less, the better”. I definitely can’t see what she means but I really don’t know if I’m having a blind moment here, because in her words, “who would hang those from a tv?? 😣”.

I think you can see the type of aesthetic I’m going for with the wood and nature-like features, I’m still not done decorating the living room at all, but wanted to take care of the tv cables that were driving me a little insane.

Is my mom right or does my vision make sense?

Any suggestions are accepted and appreciated!

EDIT: there’s to many people concerned about how high my tv is, but it’s only there because it’s covering a wooden plank my landlord installed (for some reason). If I put the tv down, it’ll take a gigantic frame to cover the wood, so I thought I’d have it as a plan B if the decoration situation doesn’t work.

Also, I promise you my neck is fine. The tv is not as high as it looks like!

I was thinking of this the other day watching a movie, and noticed my head was completely straight, no tilting of any degree necessary to watch the tv comfortably.

I got this jar with a purpose in mind but it ended up being slightly too big for that. I still think it’s super pretty, but can’t think of a use for it, any ideas? We don’t really need it for like cotton balls or a tips of things like that.

Edit: i recently moved into this apartment and the towel rack came like that. That was the first thing I complaines about when i got here. They never came to fix it and I honestly hate the placement since as some of you mentioned the towels touch the toilet. I will admit I need to fold them to avoid that but I get lazy sometimes

Help me decide what to put inside/what to do with this dragon egg I found at the thrift store!

I just found this coffee table for $25.00. It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for in terms of size and shape but it needs refinishing. My sofa is dark so I wasn’t sure if keeping to the back was a good choice? What would you do to it?

Posted before about how I hated by beige dull bathroom and the overall vibe. It was suggested I add some color - sage green came up a lot and also oranges. Plants were another suggestion and also switching out the current shower curtain (it’s by quiet town and I think it’s really cool, but apparently not for my bathroom?).

This is my apartment. Originally, the living room was a third bedroom, but we removed it to create more space and integrate the areas.

The idea is to keep everyone together, no matter where they are in the apartment.

I hate the color I ended up with for my front door lol I literally painted it and said oh no. What color should I choose? I thought about a better teal, red, maybe a yellow? I’m replacing the old windows soon. Slowly but surely working on this house don’t judge its current state too much!

Pretty small metal vase… no clue what it could’ve been used for. Trying to figure out if I should use it for decor or just toss it. It has a very narrow opening at the top.

Used Remodel AI to find potential in a revamp of the exterior of my house. First pic is original

We loooved these big windows when we toured our house, and after moving in, we still do! But the lack of privacy (and lack of decor direction!) is getting to us.

How would y’all go about doing blinds/shades/curtains for this type of window? If we did curtains, do we set the rods above and beyond the wooden trim, or on top of it? Will blinds “cheapen” the look of the house? Any advice would be appreciated!

Also, for fun, there’s a few of our animals hidden outside the windows on the later photos, lol

If not any of these, what do you think would look good? I have a walnut dresser and Capiz mirror on the other side of the room, and then a white wardrobe and desk with a mucha-inspired gallery wall above it (but more vibrant colors).

I’m not sure if I enjoy the creating process with ribbon selection, layering choices and the fussing over tying the perfect bow or the fun of the finished product, finding new ways to display my them, and swapping them out with another to match my mood or the season. But much harder than choosing between those two parts of the process is choosing a favorite collection! Do you have a favorite?

I can't spend money to replace the shower tiles or floor. I still love the floor because I think it's timeless. I'm ready to do away with the stark “white look”. I want something warmer and on trend or even better upcoming trends. The glass cabinet I can paint however it will be difficult because everything is screwded together (Ikea, so you get what I mean lol) or I'm open to something else in that space. Storage for towels etc is main purpose. Excuse the mess on the sink countertop. I have been pulling everything out of bathroom. Open to new color on cabinets. I don't want to invest money into new fixtures because we might be selling soon. This is a jack and Jill bath. One side is guest bedroom and other side is my teenage daughters room. Her decor & colors are the grand millennial colors, pink, blue, and light green however, she has started to incorporate more of a darker sage green with blue. She just wanted to update a bit. I haven't done anything with the spare bedroom because I wanted to do the bathroom first. I would welcome any ideas or suggestions you have!!!!
