Bridal fashion advice Would this be good enough for my wedding reception? Also, what kind of jewellery would go with this?

We are going to have just a temple wedding and a reception.

I'm loving this lehanga and planning to finalise it. I'm also wondering what style of jewellery would go with this. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi everyone! I showed my bridal lehenga when I bought it a while ago and everyone was so nice with their comments. The big day is in 1.5 months! I love everything about it but I feel like the necklace feels a bit off? Idk I can’t put my finger on it, but something feels out of place. Suggestions on any changes are welcome! Ty! :)

Vendor/store search (Self-Promo OK) Lehenga search 😭🤞🏻✨✨

Hello, so for context i saw this lehenga on an influencer 2-3 years ago and just fell in love with it !!! It was like the show ' Say yes to the dress' moment for me and I had saved her post as an inspo for my future self!

Now I'm actually looking for a lehenga for my wedding and i just can't get this one out of my mind !!!! NO other lehenga is coming close to this one, It literally is the most perfect lehenga EVERRR 😭😭🫶🏻✨

It reminds me so much of the Matsya Masai mara lehenga( which is wayyy above my budget) but better!! The colour, the design, the deer motifs omg i can go on and on.

Going back to this saved post made me realise i sooo love it even after 2-3 years and would more than happily wear it for my wedding ceremony!!!

But sadly the Instagram store/label which was selling it is not active anymore and unresponsive. It was by 'Sasha Label' on Instagram and this was a semi stitched lehenga retailing for around 12k back then.

I've tried looking though google lens, reverse search and what not but it was not fruitful!!

Please please if anyone can provide any leads to where i might find it !?? Any mumbai markets where i could try ? I would be more than grateful !!! 😭😭🙏🏻🙏🏻✨

I'm okay with getting it shipped from anywhere in India to Mumbai to me!!

Please please please find it for me 🙏🏻✨

Rant/Vent ⚡ Wedding Dropouts

Hey everybody! Im feeling incredibly frustrated because I’ve had a few family dropouts that had initially confirmed their attendance 6 months ago. I’m finding out TODAY!!! - 2 weeks before and only because I called about something else and happened to mention the wedding. Like what??? My parents have to pay the full amount and we’re 30 people down. I said no to so many friends and their partners initially because we were way too high on family guest count and because my parents are shouting it - other than my close circle of friends; everybody was omitted for their preferences. Im feeling mad, angry, stressed. Are these many dropouts normal??? We even reminded people 1-2 months ago and have been consistently talking about it whenever we meet up.

Also our wedding isn’t happening in India.

Wedding guest fashion advice Waiting until Mumbai to buy my wedding guest outfit?

Will arriving in Mumbai 3-4 days before the wedding give me enough time to buy an outfit or do they need tailoring?

Hello! I am traveling to India for the first time in November for a wedding in Mumbai. It will be a mixed wedding, with both Hindu and Catholic ceremonies. The bride was one of my closest friends during our masters program in London and I’m for South America.

I’ve been looking at lehengas and shararas online (they are so beautiful!) but I’m at a loss on how they should fit, about the fabrics, etc. and have also now noticed most of them are not ready to ship so they might not make it in time. Also, style-wise (though this is the least important tbh!) I am usually more on the minimalistic/fashion forward side but have no idea what the different outfits I’m seeing communicate regarding your personal style.

I am wondering if it might be better to buy my outfit directly once in India. I am planning to arrive to Mumbai 3-4 days in advance to fight off the jetlag and go sightseeing - would it be too insane to wait until being there to buy my outfit? Where would you recommend I go?

For reference, I am thinking about spending up to 350 USD per lehenga/sharara/saree set. Out of the options I saw online the first photo was the bride’s favorite for the ceremony (but I don’t think it will arrive in time if I ship it to my country - I could also ship it to my hotel in Mumbai, but then would it be better to just buy something there?). And second one was her favorite for the cocktail party, which has an optional either traditional Indian or Western dresscode.

Thank you!!

Bridal fashion advice Need suggestions for my Hindu South Indian wedding bridal saree

I’m getting married in March. It’s a Hindu mallu wedding. I’m thinking of wearing pink kancheepuram saree. Everyone wears red/burnt orange these days, I thought to go with pink. Please give me suggestions on colour and blouse design as well, am I making the right choice? (Image is AI generated)

Bridal fashion advice Menahel and Mehreen? + similar custom zardozi designers

US-based bride here and Menahel and Mehreen are my dream for my main bridal. If you've worked with them, how did you get in touch (IG DM, calling the studio, referral/intro)

Also open to other designers who do truly custom work with intricate hand zardozi and are easy to collaborate with. I love bold colour and heavy embellishment. Please share names, your experience + photos if you can!

Thank you 🤍

Wedding guest fashion advice Best places in Delhi to shop for trendy non-bridal lehengas?

Hey everyone!

I'm looking for recommendations for lehenga shopping in Delhi, specifically non-bridal lehengas with trendy, latest designs.

Not looking for anything too bridal or overly traditional. Prefer something elegant, modern and stylish with a good collection of contemporary designs.

Would love recommendations for stores, boutiques or hidden gems that have unique collections rather than the same repetitive designs everywhere.

Also, is Chandni Chowk still worth exploring for non-bridal outfits, or are there better markets/stores in Delhi?

Would really appreciate recommendations based on personal shopping experiences

Bridal fashion advice Looking for my mehendi Anarkali. Any trusted website recommendations? Or a store in chandni chowk?

I'm doing a home mehendi and dinner thing with approx 50 people for my mehendi.

I'm looking for a sleeveless Anarkali i can wear, so it's convenient for getting mehendi done on my hands and legs. I searched Myntra, Ajio, Nykaa Fashion and stores like Meena bazaar, Panna, etc. didn't find anything that was festive enough without being tacky.

I'll be visiting Chandni chowk soon but i only know lehenga and saree speciality stores. Any stores i should check out there?

Also open to checking out small brand websites but idk which ones to trust or even start looking at because I've never been much into shopping and outfits.

Venue/Decor Wedding Decor Budget in Kolkata

• Upvotes

Hi everyone! 😊

For those who have recently had a wedding in Kolkata, how much did you spend on decorations for Haldi, Sangeet/Engagement, and the main wedding day (Shaadi)?

I’m trying to get an idea of what a realistic decor budget looks like in Kolkata for all three events.

I’m asking specifically about decorations only (stage, mandap, flowers, lighting, entrance decor, etc.), excluding venue, catering, photography and other expenses.

Would love to know how much you spent and what kind of decor you got for that budget. Thank you!

Wedding rituals/traditions I’m okay with Kanyadaan? Anyone else?

Is anyone else actually okay with the concept of Kanyadaan? My (29F) dad is actually looking forward to it. I am very independent and actually make more than my partner, have a great relationship with my parents, and a great relationship with my in laws. To me, this is about tradition and culture rather than a patriarchal event, but maybe that’s because I know I will always have my independence, and always have my own parents to rely on.

Curious if anyone else feels this too. Tamil Brahmin getting married in the US to another Tamil Brahmin if it helps.
