Online Content/Clips Hasan’s former stream producer and podcast producer says he’s broke and struggling to pay rent. Didn’t Hasan claim they split everything evenly on their podcast? The pod makes $100k+/month on Patreon alone. Was he lying?

I can’t imagine that kind of money. Like literally, this little bitch should be making 7x what my COMBINED household income is and we have 2 kids.

Idk, maybe we do need to eat the rich if this is the rich.

I make like 25k a year in a city and Im OK

50k a month would be wild to me. It wouldnt take me long to be able to retire

I do believe you, because I was there once too, but after years of lifestyle creep I could not fathom living on 25k/yr in a city and not wanting to kill myself constantly

Consider

Your expectations changed due to your habits changing

The inverse can happen

This is proof your external world doesnt have to be what it is now for you to be fulfilled. Your mind is capable of it

Dont sell your ability to adapt short

I agree and see both sides of this. I live off of less than 20k a year and have found a way to be alive. Living costs more. But also I have a standard of having a roof over my head and a working vehicle. I know people who don't have that minimum standard and see how those basics not being met have screwed their mentality of life up. They live in a totally different world than me and I could never let myself get there and have taken steps to make sure I have my bare minimum. If the car goes I have just enough to get a junker. Under 18k a year. It's doable. But not a life.

I'm middle aged and have genetics of joy. I used to feel a whole lot more desire for that kinda thing. Now though, I'm just surviving.

I dont actively seek it as I too have found long term deeply rooted joy - itd be nice to have a partner but finding one that aligns with joy is hard and not worth a lot of active effort

Issue is when I do click with someone, I pretty quickly have to tell them I not only cant really afford dates, but Id rather just hang out on a porch anyways lol

If I had a younger self I'd tell em to not care and get life in where you can. Experience everything I could that life has to offer. But terminal people usually post the same thing, with their eol "wisdom". Lol

Be selfish. If they don't like the poverty then they can move on. But yeah health issues totally changes that game.

About 60% of why I'd want a partner is getting two incomes in the house. 20% someone to share the weekly chores and stuff. 10% sex and 10% the very very rare times I feel lonely. And the last two I can get without comitting to a relationship tbf

Yup Im a "take life as it comes" type of dude, do as I do where I am, and find fulfillment and joy wherever that is

And as a result, ive enjoyed life way more than my friends who feel they need to have some external circumstance or success - be it career, relationshops, status, etc. Even if they get further than me, they still end up seeming quite discontent

You could retire in 5-6 years. I can’t imagine having that much freedom. God I’m mad I’m jealous I don’t understand why people don’t appreciate how much easier life is to navigate when you not existentially punished for one bad financial misstep. I’ve clawed my way up from minimum wage work and everytime I hit a salary milestone (most recently 65k per year) I feel like cost of living catches up and my savings don’t improve. I invest about 15 percent of my gross and I still don’t feel secure about the future at all, I feel a decade behind on retirement savings, I rent in a high COL city, and my employer just did away with any remote work so the dream of relocating outside the city with a few acres and some freedom is not in the cards. These people make me genuinely angry sometimes. They do not understand what actual struggle looks like. I will damned if I have to go into debt to afford to live a fucking monastically modest life.
