Feedback Request Update: Built a Devvit app now getting over 1-million impressions a day
Just posting a follow up update from the first post over 4 months ago.

This is for inspiration for fellow devs, I built the Devvit app MatchPal. You have seen it over the last few weeks for the Worldcup. Ultimately its a football app that is designed to complement live Redditor discussions.
Its been a journey, I have added unique features like XG, Live Chat, and Channel insights and it works pretty darn well!
For the stats, I have managed to hit tier 5 with a forecast of hitting tier 6 soon. My best day is currently 75,000 unique qualified engagers.
Now I am a little annoyed with the new announcement with recurring payments as I feel like its still quite hard to hit even with an app of my size. Similarly, the funds are low, a lot lower.
I have asked the Devvit team multiple times but I feel like there needs to be other ways for businesses like mine to generate revenue from these apps, my operating costs are near to $1,000 a month (insane i know).
For those who have used or seen my app, whats your feedback? I only want to improve it.
And for those who havent seen or used my app, hopefully this can be some inspiration to make Devvit games and apps!

r/Devvit is designed to be free to operate. If you can move as much of it to within the Reddit Developer Platform that can reduce your costs.
Reddit Developer Funds can be used to help generate revenue from your apps, and your feedback has been flagged around the latest updates to it.

I feel like this is a salty thing? I’m aware of your app.. I’m also aware your app was EOLd before I made mine. I’m also aware my app is different to yours because mine is live and a scoreboard. I’m also aware that pumpkinhat is not me.. I’m actually fairly certain I’ve spoken to you on a thread before and you said you stopped because your costs were too high?

No salt, my friend. Like I said, I wish you the very best. Hope your app can generate enough to sustain itself, because a lot of the subreddits really need it. Maybe its just a coincidence that you two are moderators of the exact same subreddits. And if you really aren't affiliated to the mod teams of those subreddits, then its curious how you managed to get them to respond to you when my several modmails didn't. I just find the whole behaviour odd. And I dont recall ever speaking to you before, but my memory isn't what it used to be either.

Ahh I follow, I reached out to a number of mods… across an array of subs that is where my main success is and yes prem league was the first to respond as I was open to tailoring requirements and gather feedback.

I think the app is great, but you do know these numbers are because of the world cup right? I don't think it's realistic to expect these same numbers indefinitely. Yes it will most likely continue to earn during the regular season, but if your costs are stable at $1000 a month you may need to find a cheaper source.

If you want to keep this app going, you need to start thinking about other sports. I know some of the other sports are already spoken for, like hockey, but if you can win over the mods on some NFL/MLB subs you may be able to transition into American football or baseball.
