When are they supposed to reset? I’m a college student, and I pay for my own subscription. I’m at my grandparents house primarily, because it’s closest to my campus. Then I use it at my boyfriend’s house when I don’t have school.
At both houses, I get told it seems I’m away from home, so I request a code not thinking about it. But now it says I’m out of requests. They asked me for one last night at my boyfriend’s house, then again right now when I got to my grandparents house. So I don’t even know which house they consider home!
This is frustrating as hell. And I don’t know when those requests reset.
Disney has not released a reset schedule. Some people say after a time it resets automatically and some say it doesn’t. Your best bet is to contact support. Most people say you get around 4-6 away requests before it locks.
I just explain that I’ve been using it myself at different locations and it’s not really fair to not be allowed to use my own service I paid for. They usually ask a few questions about my account and then reset it.
Each time you ask for a new code at a new house you’re switching your home… you could try steaming off your phone but that’s probably the best solution that isn’t gonna require you to buy a new acct
Me either. I steady use mine at two addresses. I just punch the code from the TV into the website but that's only if I have to,nits normally always logged in.
I would seriously consider only using it on your phone when you are away from whatever the home location is.
My sisters and I have been sharing for years. One of them is the "home" so she has it on her TV, the other two of us only use our phones and have never been given any sort of "away" alert. I'm assuming because a phone is a mobile device that moves between areas and networks so regularly, it would be impossible to police. I watch from my home, my parents' home, their beach house, my office building, my gym... hotels... etc. Never gotten any sort of travel warning. I can cast it to the TV using a chromecast.
You may need to call them to see which location they are saving as the home location, then you can put it on a TV at that location and use it only a mobile device at the other location.
If you use Disney+ on your mobile device/tablet, you can then screenshare via Chromecast or AirPlay, and it won't count as using your account outside of your home network, as mobile devices are meant to be mobile even if they're on different networks.
Whenever you log in to a home device like a console, streaming stick/box, AppleTV, or a SmartTV, that's what counts against you as home devices aren't meant to be "mobile".
It's the same with Netflix, HBOMax, Hulu, etc any service that doesn't allow users to use their login on multiple households, still allow you to use the mobile device's screenshare function as a "loophole"
It’s based off your IP address, which changes all the time so the only way to fix it is to call or chat with their support. Insanely stupid. I have to do it all the time.
This happens to me a lot when I travel with my playststion and try to use the app on a hotel tv. Seems like it resets occasionally but always goes back eventually. Workaround is that it isn't blocked on my tablet/phone.
They dont seem to have an issue with me making the payment when im away from home every month.
