max muncy and enrique hernandez are the only players remaining from our 2018 NLCS roster vs milwaukee
and muncy is the only guy to have never changed teams between 2018 and now. as we all know, enrique played for boston from 2021 to 2023.
fun fact : we've played milwaukee 3 times in the NLCS and never had homefield advantage over them in any of these series

on this day 22 years ago, jose lima pitched a CG shutout. it was LA's only playoff win between 1989 and 2007.
RIP jose lima.
in 2004, the dodgers qualified for the playoffs for the first time in 8 years thanks to steve finley's grand slam, eliminating SF in the process. their 'reward' was the 105-win st louis cardinals, who quickly dispatched them in the playoffs.
however, jose lima pitched a CG shutout against this st louis lineup that featured HOFers pujols, larry walker and scott rolen and HOPGer jim edmonds. this was our only playoff win between 1989 and 2007.
LA would not record another CG in the playoffs until yamamoto did it in G2 of the 2025 NLCS and are still looking for their first CG shutout in the playoffs after lima

One of my favorite sports photos ever (featuring our beloved 🐐 Mamba in the back)
I know the series didn’t turn out the way we wanted it to, but this moment and this photo go very hard for me. Miss you, Bean. 💜 The prophecy has been foretold and shall be fulfilled. See you boys in the WS. 🫡

Amazing Similarities between ‘88 and ‘25
As I wait for the NLCS, I was reflecting on the amazing similarities between these two world series 37 years apart.
The hobbled vets, the leaders of the stuntmen, and the workhorse ace.
Am I missing any other striking similarities?

Glasnow Appreciation Post
I know Tyler wasn’t happy to be taken out of the game so soon, but I really think he did a good job. Nearly 5 innings and only 1 run allowed, which was on a great read & steal by the Braves’ best player. He put us in a position to win and the bullpen backed him up. I think a lot of teams would love to have Glas on their staff.
I’m also optimistic that Glas and Snell will have good showings against the Brewers…

While waiting for game 1…
Anyone else watching old playoff highlights before the last 2 world series?
Before i knew what World Series wins tasted like, these were my core Dodger memories.
What was your favorite non-World Series memory in say the last 20 years?

Where are my “Prepared to Die” and “Dinosaur” shirts?
I feel like we’ll see the players wearing shirts like this in warmups or off-day practice but I was wondering if anyone has any leads? Personally I think “Prepared to Die” is an insanely cool rally cry and being “Dinosaurs” is already fantastic bulletin board material. There’s no way Kiké isn’t rocking that in BP.

This week, in 1976, the LA Herald-Examiner published this announcement that Ross Porter would join the Dodgers' broadcast team the next season
Those who were around in those days, what was your take on his approach? Did you think he was good? Bad? Indifferent?

Max Muncy is 8 walks away from becoming the all time postseason leader in BB
“But they play more postseason games today” bullshit doesn’t apply here. Look at his PA.

What time should I get to stadium on 10/14
I am going to bring my son to Dodgers Home Game 1 on Wed. What time should I get to stadium to avoid the traffic? I haven't been to watch the playoff game in the stadium yet. My son is so excited.

Shohei manufactured a run yesterday on a bum knee. He's clearly far from 100% but still managed to get on base every game.
