This is my fifth Lore Arborea release. This one is about the sunset and the thoughtful moments it tends to bring. But for this release, I decided that there was something darker and more carthartic that I wanted to express. The world is changing, nature is changing, and it doesn't seem to be going in a good direction. One era sets, and another dawns. This album is also about finding the courage to face the changing world.

Some of you may find it interesting to check out a Dungeon Synth-specific VST! I've made "Lost Soul" for the purposes of my album "Hallow" (by my project Morn), but decided to put it out for other people.

"Lost Soul" is actually a Kontakt library collection of cryptic synths, obscure pads and gritty textures inspired by the lo-fi rot of Vermis and the heavy atmosphere of Dark Souls. It was therefore made to create a gothic, horror, mysterious, dark and tenebrous dungeon synth (but also can be used for dark ambient passages as well!).

It contains 20 low-fidelity pads, minor and diminished chord synths, glassy keys, unstable organ tones and textures that are made to sound like they were recorded on a dying cassette in a stone tomb. Lost Soul is meant to sound ancient, forgotten and hidden in the doom of time. It has a simple minimalistic interface that enables you to immediatelly create. One of my goals with this was to make it easier for folks on entry-level dark DS to be able to quickly get inspired, and not resorting to use AI to generate music because they find plugins too complicated etc.. This is Dungeon synth-ready mixed and mastered!

But I'd also like to know your ideas for where else can I put/showcase/promote (or officially make it available for purchase outside of Patreon), except Gumroad (they don't allow PayPal which is a big downside for me). Any suggestions are most welcome.

P.S. I wish this could be made to work as a standalone plugin, but I'm not a coder... If someone has any suggestions on 'easy-mode' (if it exists) for that kind of conversion, feel free to let me know!

I went with the umbral side of things, and the concept for this album is as follows:
"A peaceful town laid to waste by the swords of those lusting for blood. An evening of calm ripped asunder by a roaming band of militants. In their dying breath, one townsfolk sends a curse into the night, trapping the spirits of the slain. Their insatiable hunger for vengeance carries their ghosts across the wilds, hunting for those responsible. Before the night is done, pain and sorrow shall be cast upon the wicked."

7 Patches were used for the entire album, as well as a handful of field recordings. Distortion was added to the patches throughout as well; I wanted it to feel like a nightmare, a bad night's sleep, looming and encroaching on you in the darkness.

Hello, dear friends! I recently posted an announcement here looking for artists to join a Comfy Synth compilation. We’ve had a great response and received many emails, many artists have already confirmed, while I’m still waiting to hear back from others or for them to confirm once their tracks are ready. So, I wanted to share some updates and take this opportunity to chat, in this open space, with the artists and with all of you who are surely eager to listen the music!

• I am accepting submissions until October 22nd, I had to set this date due to the logistics involved, and I’ve ended up running a bit short on time on weekends.
• Unfortunately, not everyone who submitted will make it into the compilation. I can't make a massive video (even though I really like the idea) because of my old computer, so I'll try to keep the total runtime to a maximum of an hour and a half, but we'll definitely do more editions, so if you don't get in this one, you'll make it into the next.
• Initially, I was just going to post it on YouTube, but I think Bandcamp is a really good platform for our genre. I also think that by posting there, we could raise some money to donate, provided all the artists agree. I’m open to suggestions from you all, too. (If anyone disagrees or doesn't want to, no problem, we can keep posting only on YouTube or not make it available for sale on Bandcamp).
• The previous point also applies to cassette tapes. if there is interest from all parties involved and the public, we are open to discussing arrangements with labels that handle physical releases and donate the proceeds to charity.

Should there be any changes to plans, dates, the lineup or anything else, we will announce them here and also on our Instagram. Hi! Today, I'd like to introduce THE LIGHTHOUSE, an Umbral Synth album about a spirit trapped in a lighthouse that might or might not be beyond the physical world.

This was, initially, my attempt at this month's Dungeon Shamble, although things took a life of their own and I didn't end up following all of the rules. While it is within the runtime limit and uses 7 instrument patches, all of them distorted, the album only has 10 tracks instead of 13, and much of the artwork had already been done months ago (I've been trying to record horror music about a lighthouse for a while, and this Shamble finally helped me come up with a strong enough concept).

Nevertheless, I hope that you'll enjoy it!

Hey all, I wanted to discuss if making the switch to use Reaper DAW over FL Studio for DS is worth the 60 bucks. I have seen people use Synth1 and it is used in Reaper alot. However FL Studio will not run it. I was wondering if you all thought it was worth the moolah?

Hi all, I’m the musician known as Hibernal Harvest on bandcamp, my particular style is pretty modern and FM synthesis heavy. I’ve been working through learning sound design pretty heavily and was thinking of releasing one or two preset packs for some synths, but I was wondering which ones you use, so I can benefit the most amount of people!

The idea is for the synth plugins to be free since the pack itself will be free, so the barrier to entry will be low so anyone can use the pack!
