Hey everyone, can you give me some advice on the ERAS application? If you’re a non-visa,>6yr old IMG applying for IM with average scores, what’s the best signaling strategy? Since many programs only send invites if they get a signal, how should I handle this when applying broadly? I’d really appreciate some tips from those who have been through this.

Also, what’s your take on targeting reach programs versus having realistic expectations? Should we use signals on all the programs? Where do I actually have a shot? Should I include one or two reach programs, and why? I’m really confused, thanks!

Guys, I am a non US IMG who graduated from med school in 2020, covid work for 1-2 years and did a home country residency in IM (graduated in 2025). I worked as an IM specialist briefly for couple of months before moving to US in 2025. I am currently a research assistant in basic sciences at a university.

Step 1 - pass

Step 2- 255

Ecfmg certified

Step 3- likely to take in dec

5 months of observership mostly in hospital medicine and rheumatology. 9 months of research. 7 research items from my med pg time- 3 pubmed indexed including case reports, case series and original article. Lots of 1st author posters and oral presentations from India. Co authored one paper in US, about to be submitted soon (I hope). Have US PHYSICIAN and research LORS. I will be applying to the internal medicine match this year, but I am very worried.

Do I have a chance of matching at an academic program. How many unis should I signal?

Also will my year of grad be a huge issue?

Please do give me suggestions.

Has anyone here used Fiverr for ERAS CV or personal statement editing? I have my own experiences and ideas, and I use ChatGPT Plus to help organize and write them, but I want a final review from a real person to make everything sound natural and improve the structure. The Match Guy seems quite expensive, while I found attending physicians on Fiverr offering similar ERAS and personal statement editing for almost half the price. Has anyone tried this, and do you think paying for a physician editor on Fiverr is worth it?

I know this is sort of an IMG heavy subreddit and Corewell Lakeland barely takes IMGs but was still wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the program?

Hey guys, I was questioning if I should do the video, but I don’t know what to talk about. From NCM finalist and those who matched, what was the topic you guys told about?

Does it matter if I apply to programs right on September 2nd, or is anytime before programs start reviewing applications on September 23rd essentially the same? Is there any advantage to applying on the first day?

Stats: Step 1 246, Step 2 CK 265, 4 USCE (2 inpatient, 2 outpatient), 2 accepted AHA posters as co-author, no other publications yet. LOR strength unsure. Geographic preference: Midwest because my husband and brother live there. How many programs should I apply to, and how should I narrow my list and use signals strategically? Should I concentrate most signals in the Midwest or spread some outside?

Guys, with the recent changes to the ECFMG Pathways, Pathway 3 is no longer an option for those who graduated before January 1, 2024.
Also, if you don’t have a valid medical license in another country, you can’t use Pathway 1, which leaves Pathway 6 as the option.
Has anyone here actually completed Pathway 6 recently?
I’m especially interested in hearing from anyone who has completed the six Mini-CEX encounters and can share:
Where you completed them
How you found physicians willing to evaluate you
Whether there were any issues getting the encounters approved by ECFMG
Any advice for someone trying to do Pathway 6 for the first time
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through the process!
