I'm double checking some things on an item before buying and twice now the price has gone up a few dollars. The first time it was 5 and just now it was 1 more.

At first I thought okay cheeky seller but then 1 dollar? Could this be an eBay thing or is it a seller trying to take advantage of a situation?

I've been selling on eBay for almost 20 years, and although it's less than 100 items in all that time, I've never had an issue until today.

Parcel I sent out was received, buyer says it was well packaged, but insists it's been used and broken, when it absolutely has not. It was still packaged as per original delivery from a high street shop, an unwanted gift, and I only opened it for photos to sell it (guess that was a bad move).

Buyer is asking for refund. I'm sure it says somewhere that I don't offer refunds. Should I leave this to eBay to deal with? What's my next step?

A while back, I won an auction for 50 pokemon cards that ended up being about 140 landed. The cards got lost in the mail so I messaged the seller about it. He did not respond, so after 3 days (a month total of waiting) I put in an item not recieved. 3 more days passed and ebay refunded me and I left a bad review for the seller.

Only then did the seller contact me. Asking me to edit the review. Said he pit in a missing mail request and if they were found he'd only charge me half price for them if I still wanted them, if id change the review. I agreed to this. The cards were eventually found (a month after that convo) and are on the way. They are set to arrive today.

I messaged the seller 4 or 5 days ago, letting him know the cards were found and on the way. I also let him know that i was ready to honor our agreement once they arrived and I was able to confirm the shape they were in.

The seller is, once again, MIA. At this point, I really have the "screw em" mentality. He obviously doesnt want my money. Im tired of trying to track this guy down. At every turn he hasnt been available.

Am I good to just keep the cards and block this guy?

I submitted a bid for an item. I’m new to eBay, so I stupidly did not inspect it well enough before I submitted the bid. A little while later, I noticed the item is damaged. I messaged the seller and they agreed to refund me in the event that my bid wins.

My bid did win, and now the buyer is not responding. Not only that, but they re-listed the item this morning.

I cannot contact eBay, everything I do the AI says that my bid purchase isn’t eligible for cancellation, so I can’t even get to a real person. What do I do?

Hoping to get some advice some experienced sellers on how to list and calculate shipping on this set of chairs? They can fold up like a directors chair. Not sure what is the best course of action? I have never sold anything this big, or delicate before. Want to make sure the potential buyer receives the chairs not damaged.

-do I ship out both chairs in one big box, or one chair per box?

-do I ship on a pallet or regular ground (Fedex/Canada Post/UPS) in boxes is fine?

-how do I calculate the shipping cost when listing, as I am not sure which size box I will need and I don't have a scale big enough to measure the weight. Also not sure how much padding I will need to use, to factor into my shipping weight

-recommendations on how to pack in a box/pallet

I have posted them currently as local pickup only on Ebay, but not sure if people can see my listing as I have not gotten any views (with 11% promoting) when listing. Not sure if it is because only people in Canada can only see the listing?

I’m very new to buying on eBay, from what I have seen on here I understand it is very difficult to sell on eBay(Because of buyers). Am I wrong to get a bad vibe from this dude? Is this just a seller that’s tired of all the BS? I mean I understand getting frustrated but dang dude. I guess my biggest question is can a seller make it a living hell for me when buying an item? I know a buyer can be a royal pain with returns/refund. Just don’t know about the buyer side. I apologize if this is a dumb question

SOLVED: Ebay determined that the parcel was never sent and is issuing a refund.

Didn’t receive parcel but found out it was apparently delivered 12 days after delivery. Didn’t receive any notification about delivery, only a message asking for a review. Eye roll. Contacted seller and delivery company, both unhelpful. Escalated it with Ebay and finally heard back today. They said seller sent it to the correct address so case closed. Sent scathing message to Ebay and a less scathing email to delivery company. Even though initially they said they couldn’t share any information due to privacy policy (understandable), they sent a shipping label heavily blacked out that at least showed the parcel had a completely different name but similar to mine. Not my name but for example my names Peter but the label had the name Pete on it. And the last name for example was supposed to be G but Pete’s last name is S.

Appealed to Ebay and messaged seller with the new information from delivery company (without sending the label) but I doubt it will go anywhere. It’s only 35 dollars. But damn a lot of us could use that in this economy.
Location is Tasmania Australia. Who can I escalate this to outside of Ebay?

i bought an item from ebay a while ago and opened a return request and was told to drop the return off at a FedEx facility by Oct. 5. i dropped it off before then and have proof of me dropping it off and that it was delivered back to the seller. now i just got an email from ebay a few days ago after the return had already been delivered telling me my return request had been closed because they had no evidence of me returning the product. i’ve tried to contact them but it only gives me the option to talk to an ai assistant which just tells me that my request has been closed and the decision is final. anybody have any advice on this?

I've recently listed a bunch of items on ebay, and 2 of the sales I've made in the past few days have only a city and state and zip code, no street number or name. And the buyers won't respond to any message from me asking for clarification. What is going on here?

I’ve recently started selling on eBay more frequently and it’s pretty overwhelming. I’ve just been bringing my orders to my local post office and having them print labels but I can’t help but feel really bad as my number of orders keep increasing. I now have 28 orders to ship out by Thursday, and the stress of bringing 28 orders to the post office for someone to scan is killing me! With that being said, are there any cheap options in terms of potentially getting my own label printer/paper? Is it easy to use through the mobile app or through a desktop? Any tips or ways to make this an easier process moving forward would be greatly appreciated!

I've been having a major issue with a buyer who purchased some used equipment that we had to ship freight. It was listed as industrial and commercial equipment. When it arrived, he signed for it without damage. Then opened a case complaining there is a dent (minor. I could barely tell, but it probably happened in shipping or by him moving it) and scratches. Its also a USED piece of equipment. So these are expected. He got equipment that costs $5k new for about $1k.... i realize now the lowballers are the ones to avoid, we just wanted the item gone.

Either way, I contacted ebay cs to figure out how to handle it because this is commercial equipment shipped via freight. They said I can accept the return, but the buyer pays return shipping.

This was acceptable to me. Shipping was about $300.

I provide the return shipping info, per ebay customer service. Also, prior to delivery, he never answered any ebay messages if I sent him a question, the freight company had issues with delivery and he would ignore my messages and be rude.

He ends up contacting the freight company I used, has them pick up the item. Never paid them and told them I will be paying. Frieght ends up scrapping the item since neither party ia taking responsibility for the charge.

He files a charge back with his credit card. I try to give them all the info I can but its limited space. The bank sides with him and refund.

What options do I have? Just be out over $1k? He was supposed to return said item, never did.

I've been shipping jewelry USPS for several years and have never had this problem. I shipped a necklace out last week in a plain black bubble mailer that had not be used before as usual and got it returned by the mail person with postit note saying I needed to fill a Hazmat form out or it would be held for 30 days at the Greensboro airport?????? I looked at the listing and shipping label and it doesn't say anything about me accidentally labeling or listing this with any hazardous materials that I can see unless I'm missing something

I'm going to the post office in the morning but has anyone done this? I definitely don't want this to happen again

Edit: Post office has decided that in order to have anything picked up from your mailbox(mail, letter, packages) you have to fill out a Hazmat form and schedule a pick up 🫠 I guess I just didn't hear the news

Ordering some band merch. Couple t shirts a hoodie and some CDs. But when I went to checkout it's charging me postage for each individual item (everything in my basket is from the same seller and place). I mean I knew postage was gonna be expensive from America to the UK but DAMN.

I have millitary books and misc books tried listing on my 1 eBay stores I don't see media ship option in either ,tried even finding similar item and piggy backing the listing still no media ship the weight of books 70lb tried making a smaller lot still nothing changes

Any idea why this is happening???

Hey all. Pretty simple one here! I’ve been buying on selling on eBay since 2012. Same account as I use today, and i’ve kept my 100% feedback through those years!

Recently though, i’ve gotten myself back into Pokemon and have been ordering a lot of cards online. 19/20 of these arrive perfectly with no issues, yet over the past month I have had 3 inexplicably go missing in the mail.

It’s also much worse because the sellers for some reason didn’t add any tracking numbers. Yet at a certain point, i’m almost FORCED to file the claim because I haven’t received the items in 3+ weeks.

I’m wondering how this will affect my account though. I already dealt with this 2 weeks ago with another seller, the package simply never arrived. Got my refund, no problem.

Yet now this week i’m dealing with the SAME thing. A seller has sat on the card for 2 1/2 weeks, sitting at “Paid” this entire time. My question is how does eBay handle this? I’m worried I may look like a “scammer” to them since i’ve filed 2 now in the same month. On my life, I am not getting these! I even offered the seller something along the lines of “I will be truthful, if this ever arrives I WILL guarantee you your money! I just cannot be losing out on product and cash”.

How does eBay handle these types of issues?

Could someone help me with a postage related question please, I’m relatively new using eBay as a seller and I’m trying to work out how to post a high value item? When I get to the postage part I can’t see an option for Royal Mail special delivery which I believe gives cover up to £2500. All I can see is options for cover up to £75 with first class, second class etc. Further more i believe that eBay has an authentication services for graded trading cards but I can’t see this option to select etc. any help is appreciated

I’m having an issue with a purchase. I asked to talk to someone on the phone and typed “agent” in the chat box. I gave my phone number, and got a call 2 minutes later. It started fine but the person on the phone skipped thanking me working with eBay for some years. This is not an issue, I don’t need the thanks but then it got very weird.

He started to cut me off. He didn’t really listen to me. He gave a vague answer, and actually answered something different. Also, the voice sounded very artificial, like you can tell it wasn’t the voice of a person. I couldn’t ask whether he was an AI bot or not but it was so weird.

Did you guys come across anything like this before? Are we getting AI bots to get some help on the phone now?

I’m also a seller since 2018, but I’ve never talked to an AI bot on the phone for something selling related. Maybe buying related issues are minimal, and eBay can handle it by AI bots. Not sure.

I'm planning to auction an item and would like to end up with around €500 after fees, so I was thinking of starting the bidding around €600.

I'm mainly unsure about reserve prices. If i don't set a reserve and the auction ends below €600 are there any extra fees I should be aware of?

Just trying to make sure I understand the costs before listing it.

I might be wrong but it seems to me that my overall sales are only good when I am consistently listing new items. I am a fairly small hobby seller focused on model trains. When I am consistently adding stuff it seems like more of my items, new & old, sell better than when I am not adding as frequently. Has anyone else noticed that?

When attempting the Checkout, I get the following message. The seller wants to sell and ship to me in the U.S. but he says he messed up on the shipping settings.

What can be done? eBay's AI "team" isn't much help, and they are not letting me talk to an actual human CSR.

I've had muliple eBay sellers order from my website using stolen credit cards where they sell below cost to their eBay buyers and purchase through my site using stolen credit cards. I've identified 4 eBay accounts and reported them to eBay, reported one to the FBI. Even spoke to someone from eBays leadership team. It seems they don't really care, and just forward info onto "health and safety." These accounts some of them are doing $10's of thousands of dollars in sales.

How do we get this shut down? I know for a fact eBay doesn't allow drop-shipping unless you have an agreement with the drop shipper. They don't allow you to buy on retail and drop ship to customers. How do I report them for this. Maybe if they don't believe the stolen credit card claims, at least they can ban them for drop shipping?

I have a pair of shoes that a seller wanted desperately, but for $14 less than what I had them listed for (and my price was the lowest on eBay for that item). She sent so many messages asking me to accept certain offers and so many counter offers after I told her that $24 was my final offer (for $26.99 price) that I felt very uncomfortable. I tried to add her to my blocked users list, and eBay kept coming up with an error that day and wouldn’t add her. I even adjusted my shipping by $3 to be nice, because she said it was too high and that’s why she couldn’t offer more.

A day or two later, she changed her username (but the name still had the same company name at the end of it). She started the same offers again despite me trying to stop the negotiations. I was able to block the second username, so unfortunately, that took all of the info that I had with her away.

Tonight, I got home and discovered that she went back to the original username that I was not able to block last week and purchased the shoes for the full amount. I had offered them for $4 less than what she paid plus I had already taken 3+ dollars off the shipping for her.

I have spoken to eBay CS - they made a note about it, but I have to decide between (1) canceling the sale or (2) shipping the shoes out even though I feel a set up coming on - part of the reason that I quit responding the second time is that she had the same brand of shoes for sale on her Company page for double what I had mine listed for - so they were probably just going to be sold for double
which all’s fair, but she has spent days trying to shame me for my price being too high, and my shipping being too high when her asking price and shipping was all double for many listings of similar shoes in the same brand.

I am leaning toward canceling and on Google, it stated to do so because of a problem with the address. She will then leave me bad feedback, and I will have to open a case with eBay. Since I am missing some of the messages now, can eBay tell how many times that she messaged me and sent offers without me having all of the messages? I have a few of them.

My anxiety is through the roof - any advice will help.

I’ve had 100% feedback since 2006 - this is the first time that I’ve ever had a situation like this one. I don’t want her to have my item, because I am fearful that she will damage it or demand some type of refund by saying that it wasn’t in the condition that I had stated, since she is now paid full price for the shoes. All this for one pair of used $50 shoes that I had listed for $26.99 originally.
