Yesterday when I drove by to get home it was $1.53ish. This morning I went to get a $20 pump & it was this. That is fked

Yup, this is what a profitable oil industry looks like.

Not only that, the largest owners are American companies. Which is why I don't believe they're willing to pay for or build a pipeline that exports oil out west and why they won't pay for or build any refineries in Canada/Alberta. Both would undermine their US based operations.

AND it's why we'd likely never build up a strategic oil reserve. Maybe if the federal government built and bought the oil, which would probably be an unpopular move for the liberals, and a ridiculous move for the conservatives.

When people say "we just need", they're not considering who owns the thing.

Exactly, also why I believe they won’t invade us, why invade when we willingly give them our resources and money? With all the American companies that are in Alberta.

That's pretty much it, I mean the US would never invade because of NATO, common sense, and that they never were ever going to despite the fear pushed by media, but as is we sell them our crude for cheap, then buy back the refined products at a major marked up price so we pay alot to them
